I recently required a 2003 mazdaspeed protege with the FS-DET engine, I need to replace the head and rack and pinion. Does anyone have the torque specs for the valve cover, heads all that good stuff? I tried ordering a repair manual from mazda but haven't heard anything back, I am also not sure if alldata is worth buying for this project.
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
I'm sure this has been asked before. I want to turbo my protégé5, but there's no posts on here that aren't a year old. I need to pass emissions, as I live in a city. (hopefully possible). Where can I get stuff like the msp ecu and stock turbo manifold/cat? Any supporting mods? What intercooler should I get? I want to run no waste gate so I would appreciate turbo recs. Not going for crazy power, just stock msp hp. I've been yearning for a turbo since I learned about the msp. Also, should I try and find an lsd transmission or keep my stock p5 one? Thanks everyone!
02 Mazda protege 2.0. Car began kicking on me at random a couple weeks ago. It’s not a hard kick just seems like it drops rpms a bit but jumps right back to normal. I plugged in a reader and said MAP sensor. So I replaced the MAP sensor and it is still kicking. No other codes are being thrown. Anyone else have this issue?
How do I get rid of that bass noise it makes. The stock speakers are good enough for me right now but when I turn up the volume more the doors or whatever make that noise from the bass. I want to get rid of that I saw you have to put something on the door panel? If someone can link a video or let me know how to fix it thank you!

hello everyone, i just came across a complete MSP with a blown motor for $500 and just have a few questions. whats the quickest way to get it running again? obviously a new motor but what are the differences between a normal protege motor and the MS? obviously the turbo but are the internals different? thanks
I've been digging through what options there are for rear brakes as an upgrade and heard mention of FSZE Premacy Sport rear calipers being an option that can still use the factory protege handbrake cable, ended up cross referencing part numbers through amayama and google and apparently the caliper itself seems the same as a Mazda 5/Mazda 3 BL? I've got MPS6 front calipers and just want something to fill the wheel and "proportion" the brakes better.

MSP rear brake upgrade, stainless steel brake lines and new wheel bearings for both sides, a much needed upgrade and preventive maintenance.
Finally got my car together and took it on a first drive. The struts all look original or at least oe equivalent, not aftermarket performance stuff. It rides like it's on coilovers. I've never heard of struts getting more firm as they wear out. Is that possible? Also, the front wheel bearings are completely shot. There's a little body damage in the front and the rear, but not that serious. Looks as if someone ran into the back of the car and pushed it into the car in front. Could a little fender bender have tweaked something bad enough the suspension just doesn't want to travel like it should?
