Finger-Drawn Mech Sketches
Hello everyone, these are my old finger-drawn mech sketches made on a phone.
I'm also adding a video.
This is a timelapse of my drawing.
Wishing you all a great week. :)
MS-011 ORTUS
Hello everyone, im a new user on reddit, my alias is DESIGNER, i am a creative that loves giant robots and plans to design giant robots in the future, i will be posting here and there about random mecha related stuff or my personal mecha creations through tons of creative means, this is one of them so, lets get yapping shall we?
But first lets talk about a couple things before we get onto this: i want to know other users who participate in the same craft as i do of making Sipit Robots, fellow engineers, hit me up in the comments section EHEM now
The MS-011 ORTUS is an experimental mobile suit that provides all kinds of fighting styles corresponding to the system installed within it called the: Specialization Mobile Armor Library System or the S.M.A.L system. Which provides a set of Mobile Armors that can dock with the Mobile Suit to provide a mix of a weight class and combat role.
The Mobile Armors included in this are the:
MA-04 ATLAS CRUISER which is the Mobile Armor in the Cruiser line and can dock with the ORTUS to form its Full Armor pack which grants the Ortus heavy armor with railguns to provide sniping and heavy defense.
MA-06 TEMPEST CRUISER which is the second fastese Mobile Armor in the cruiser line because of the Core Cruiser. This can dock with the ORTUS to form its Speed Blitz pack which grants the Ortus light armor with one railgun and beam whip for quick close quarters combat
Anyway the ORTUS itself is a custom sipit robot based off of the prototype sazabi and the steel haze ortus from AC6, this thing is the rival of one of my past creations the MS-012 TOKUGAWA, thank you for reading this
Mecha Show Pitch
This show would begin early in the life span of Mech usage, where mechs are still being used alongside jets and tank. These Mechs are slowly phasing out the tanks and jets due to their mobility, the capability of having jamming devices to prevent missiles, their customizable loadouts, and their general all use purpose.
The show would follow a former fighter pilot who looses their squad to an enemy mech patrol. The fighter pilot is transferred over to pilot mechs and to teach new recruits how to pilot them. From here is would be loosely inspired by Top Gun as he build to a large scale operation. The operation is to reclaim an critical airbase from the enemy. The operation goes south and the team gets shot down, so they plan to steal mech to reach a rendezvous point for pick up. As they try to steal the enemy catches them and tries to stop them the MC finds a jet and decides to fly one last time to save hsi new squad. The final fight would be the MC in a fighter jet facing off against multiple mechs trying to hold out so his team can escape, it ends with a fight with the rival of the show befire the MC gets shot down shortly after their team makes it out. It would timeskip after the war, where the MC was a PoW being released once the war ended. The MC's team cheers for their release, as the MC offically leaves the military to start a happy life away from bloodshed.
I really just want a cool fight between a jet and a Mech that isn't one sided.
ADF-01 FALKEN as an Armored Core
The Falken from Ace Combat, as an Armored Core. Slide 2 was my attempt from 2022. Fully my own design, drawn on my phone.
My thoughts on IBO S2
When it comes to IBO it's not a series, I hate, but it feels IBO feels like a lot of modern t.V endings like the boys, for instance, like I don't hate the way it ended, but personally, I hate how we kind of got there.
Like don't get me wrong. There were a lot of great moments in IBO.
My main problem just comes from our antagonists and how the show treats our characters.
Rustal. I don't hate Rustal i think he is a very good character. But you never really get to understand what his plan is. But he is an extremely realistic character.
Julieta. It honestly feels like there had been more set up for her.But just due to time and management, there just wasn't enough done with her.
Iok. Don't even get started. This is an absolute travesty of. He's not even a character. He's a plot tool.
Gaelio. Sincerely f*** y** from the bottom of my heart.
And when it comes to our protagonists from season one, mainly Kudelia. It often feels like she gets shafted, but i'm pretty sure that was the point because this becomes less about her and Tekkadan more about Tekkadan trying to become a new Gjallarhorn.
Because if they had succeeded in becoming the kings of mars, they would have become a new Gjallarhorn.
Now as for how some of Tekkadan was treated in season 2.
Atra. This is the main one I focus on.Because she genuinely feels like the most human and probably the most important outside of Orga and Mika. She feels like the outsider.Looking in which I feel like should have been her role.
Hush. Who? Genuinely, who is this an absolute nothing. Burger of a character like yes, he's supposed to be the outsider, looking in. But just like Julieta he ends up with little character development.
Orga. He's quite natural the story of king midas.
Mika. Genuinely, I wish he had a crash out like i would have just loved to see him. Have a genuine crash out with all his emotions boiling over.
The Teiwaz bullshit was unnecessary.
THE MOBILE SUIT DESIGNS ARE FUCKING PEAK!
Overall, I give IBO season two a solid 6.7/10

>What is Ex-Dynakaizer?
>The final form of Naka's dedicated machine, created by combining the original Gunpla "Dynakaizer" with the support unit "Ex-Wyvern."
>Incidentally, it is set as the successor to the original Gunpla "Dyna Hazul."
Best mecha fight
I have been a mecha fan as long as I can remember, and this fight made it all worth it.
SD 8bit VOTOMS - fan art by Asplenia Studios (me)
Following on from my spoiler post asking for advice, I've now completed my 8bit SD VOTOMS project. This is by no means all-inclusive, but tries to cover the animated entries from the original series up to Chirico's Return.
While I didn't add any new ATs from that post, following some other advice, I significantly increased the size of the pixel art compared to the text. I think this looks better on the "poster," and affords the viewer a clearer picture of each one (size change comparison in second shared photo).
Understanding that even the "poster" may be too small, I've also shared close-up images of each section, with the ATs re-jigged into more of a square format.
Behind the scenes - My 8bit SD series of art is inspired by the slightly unique 1993 Famicom (NES) game SD Gundam: Gundam Wars, which was part of the Datach* series of games The game featured sprites of many mobile suits from the Gundam franchise up to that time. Due to the system's capabilities, each sprite is limited to 24x24 pixels, and can only use three colors from the system's 55 color palette, plus black (which is actually just a representation of an absent pixel, which makes that area transparent over the black background).
Using these constraints, I began to imagine what other contemporary franchises from the 80s and early 90s would look like as a game in the same style. My first foray into this was the SDF: Macross TV series and Do You Remember Love? movie. Due to back injury, In the past couple of months I've returned to the 8bit SD series for Battletech and, now, VOTOMS.
**Bonus trivia: The Datach system was a peripheral released by Bandai in 1992 that connected to the Famicom system, and used its own proprietary cartridges. The selling point of the peripheral was a slot on the front which allowed you to swipe collectable cards (sold separately) with barcodes that would allow you to unlock features or special characters within the game.
The Datach system shipped with Dragon Ball Z: Gekitou Tenkaichi Budokai, but only released six more games before petering out in 1994 due to waning interest in the older, 8bit Famicom system.
my own world of mechas
Hi everyone, I wanted to share that I'm creating my own mecha world for a series of fanzines. The story draws heavily on late 20th-century conflicts in South America and Southeast Asia.
