Render Distance comparison for all current Minecraft versions playable on Switch 2

I wanna buy minecraft digitally on switch 2 like right now, i know there’s a upgrade or new version of it releasing in october. im just wondering if buying it rn would be a waste and i should maybe wait?
To help clear things up, the upgrade will most likely be free as they’ve done with literally every other console version. They wouldn’t randomly start charging for upgrades without an explanation.
I’m trying to set up a couple things for my stepsiblings on our Nintendo Switch but I can’t get them working the way I want it to.
The first issue is that they aren’t able to play split screen while any addons are enabled. When I attempt to do so, it gives me the pop-up in the form of the attached image. However, player 1 has a Nintendo Online account, and multiplayer settings are enabled. Does this mean I would need to get a Nintendo Online account for the second account as well?
My other question is related; I’m trying to set it up so they can play online with a couple of friends they have with their own switch and Nintendo Online. In this case, would I also have to have Nintendo Online purchased for both accounts and not just the first?
I am messing around in the Closed Beta (CB) and want to know if there is anything I should test out.
I want to see what is the max the CB/NS2 can handle so, if you have more extreme ideas that will really put it to the test, please drop them below, but I am open to more minor things as well.
hello!
i was in the process of making a mod for minecraft, which i will play on my switch lite, and then i needed to access my com.mojang file in order to actually get to work.
in short, i just need to know if i can actually create a mod for my switch lite without modding the switch, and if there's anything i need to do to my console to make the minecraft mod possible
the lite is patched, but idk if i actually need to mod the console in order to be able to access the minecraft save files, like on my laptop or wtv, but i fear this is the case :(
thank you!
Overall I felt slightly underwhelmed but also knew that what I was seeing was expected. I have 1300 hours on Minecraft for Switch.
Vibrant Visuals brought my 5 year world's fps feeling like I was on the switch 1, even with everything at ultra, 20-30fps fluctuating. Meanwhile I could run the new highest render distance with fancy/simple graphics and hit 60fps. In my opinion it's either you get fancy 60fps or switch 1 performance with a weird built in shader.
First thing I tried though was mouse mode, which didn't exist.
Load times were even better than switch 1 version played on switch 2.
There was weird stutter in handheld mode that was noticeable, but it was basically gone in the dock.
Overall I feel like if they just added Mouse Mode, and maybe cranked max render to 32 chunks with a warning it'll lag a bit, I think that the switch 2 port would be a good free upgrade. Especially since my main world is almost unplayable on Switch 1 hardware, and is only a bit better with Minecraft for switch 1 running on switch 2. The experience was what I expected, just a bit let down by lack of mouse mode. Edit: Realized I should clarify, pushing 32 chunks should be an option in simple and fancy graphics, not VV
Playing on Closed Beta Minecraft 1.26.50 on Nintendo Switch 2
omg this is so cool!! i always wanted to get in!
I started Minecraft today and received access to the Switch 2 Closed Beta.
So far, minecraft switch 2 beta runs vibrant visuals (In performance mode) at 45-50 frames at 8 render distance. The recommended is 12 . Vibrant Visuals (In Visuals mode) runs at 27-30 frames per second at 12. Will they update the Vibrant Visuals to be a whole lot smoother? Keep in mind that cyberpunk runs at a beautiful 45 frames in the desert and 35-40 in the city, so how is a block game, having problems with frames? I might be too judgemental, this is a beta after all and maybe I am too rough but I really want this to work really well. I also want to point out, they have an unlimited framerate option but it doesn’t go over 60 frames, so that’s a bummer. I really wish we could get 120.
The game does run a lot better but the game needs to be more optimised its great to see vibrant visuals on a portable console, but it doesn't run that great clearly shows the reason why it is a beta. I would've liked to have seen mouse controls in some part of the game it seems like a wasted featured maybe it will be added in the future. I'm amazed at the better load times and also the render distance it can max out without using vibrant visuals.
I've been playing the beta version a lot, but when I go to the marketplace, I get an error and can't download anything; my skins don't finish loading, and when I create a new skin, it takes ages for some items to actually appear on the character.
I got selected for the Minecraft Switch 2 beta, but it won’t let me join my Realm. It says I need to update my game, even though I’m using the latest beta version for Nintendo Switch 2.
When I go to the Realms tab, it also shows my Realm as a “beta Realm.” However, when I try to join the same Realm on a different device, it works just fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is joining Realms disabled in the beta, or is there something I need to do?
I’ve been trying to get it to work for a long time, I even tried to use lan play but no matter what I do the option to join another world just doesn’t appear on any of the switches, lan_mitt isn’t downloaded on both my systems.
Other games work with local wireless like castle crashers and killer queen black.
I don’t think you need to be friends in order to find each other’s worlds , but if that’s the problem, can anyone point me out to a solution where I can add friends on both systems ? (The option isn’t available normally on Emummc as 90dns block Nintendo servers even trying to add local profiles doesn’t do anything because you then need to be online)
All graphics settings are set to maximum(and graphics are also selected as preferred).
Just got into the beta after rebooting the game like 50 times lmao
i found the most stable for vibrant visuals to be using the default performance preset and using 75% bilinear scaling im getting like 55-60 fps and it still looks good
hopefully they add DLSS for the full release
Please let me know if you have other ideas on how to test the performance or what settings specifically you would like to see
