Petition To Give Mizuki Wall Climb

ik it's a bit late for this, but mizuki players would greatly benefit from giving him a wall climb passive. (also, ik that the answer as to why they didn't give him wall climb is lore-related but still, like, c'mon) here's why:

a) good mobility skills lets you commit to a play and get out. Mizuki’s Katashiro Return (his teleport) is designed for this, but it’s completely bottlenecked by his lack of verticality. giving him wall climb will make this problem go away

b) if a defender is on high ground, mizuki would literally need to go up the stairs to dive them, but by the time he does this, the enemy defender might already have rotated.

c) wall climb allows him to scale walls, drop his paper doll on high ground, then drop down to engage and safely go back up using katashiro return (without having to go up the stairs or whatever that is)

d) mizuki also literally has to deal damage to do healing, unlike brig who has some sustain and abilities to knock enemy flankers/tanks back and heal with inspire, mizuki doesn't, so he'll just end up dead.

e) unlike other heroes with high mobility, like kiri, lucio, and juno, mizuki players won't be able to play as aggressively as them because he doesn't have enough options to escape danger.

f) because he is stuck on the floor, his glaives usually just bounce off the ground or straight walls at eye level, making them predictable. If he could climb, he could access vertical angles to bounce shots downwards behind Sigma or Reinhardt shields, actually punishing bunkered enemies.

(those are some of my main reasons but, yea, anw, please support me with this, i want my mizuki upgraded)

Mizuki came in my dream

Okay so pretty much in my dream I had made a new friend group at school and MIZUKI was casually one of the members of it, it was just 3-4 people but we were at lunch, which for some reason was in the Colloseo map, and for some reason my school's lunch got a HUGE upgrade and they served ACTUAL good food and they had a place where you could order mixed drinks(juice ofc) and so I was dead last in line and I was ordering my food and the guy asked what drink I wanted and Mizuki suggested smthn to me and so he made it and gave it to him and I suggested smthn and he gave it to me, and we both drank our drinks and so me and Mizuki were gonna see who could drink more mixed drinks but then I woke up😑😑

My problems with Mizuki

I’ve been grinding a ton of Mizuki since his release, and while his aggressive, duel-heavy playstyle is incredibly fun, I feel like his overall power has a major design flaw. Right now, a massive chunk of his value is locked behind his passive, Remedy Aura.

Because his passive healing output scales entirely based on the resource meter you charge by dealing damage and healing, his active kit ends up feeling more like a vehicle to charge the passive rather than a set of high-impact, skill-expressive abilities.

When a support’s utility is heavily loaded into a passive aura, it creates a couple of distinct problems:

1. The "Lucio but Worse"

If Remedy Aura’s numbers are tuned too high, Mizuki just sits in the middle of his team, brawls, and accidentally out-heals everyone without thinking. If the numbers are too low, he feels completely useless because his active healing cooldowns can't sustain a team on their own. It creates a balance nightmare where he’s either a must-pick heal-bot or throwing.

2. Low Active Skill-Expression

Instead of feeling rewarded for landing a clutch Binding Chain or executing a smart engage/disengage with Katashiro Return, it feels like you're just throwing abilities out on cooldown solely to keep your passive meter topped off.

You can clearly see this reflected in the ranked brackets:

In lower ranks: He has a decently high win rate, but that is solely off players sitting tightly with their team and passively farming Remedy Aura numbers.

In higher ranks: His value drops off a cliff. As soon as opponents learn how to outplay and punish that grouped-up playstyle, Mizuki players can't adapt. Because so much power is stripped from his active kit, you don't have the individual playmaking tools to out-skill opponents once your passive stops carrying you.

I really love his design, but I think Blizzard needs to strip some healing power away from Remedy Aura and inject it into the active skill-expression of his kit.

What do you guys think? Is anyone else noticing this drop-off as you climb, or do you think his power distribution is fine where it is?

Mizuki Chain bug

I’ve been playing alot of mizuki, I’m almost level 50 and I’ve noticed this consistent bug where it says my opponent is chained when I hit them but they’re not. This has happened this tracer, rein, sombra AND genji and it’s absolutely insufferable especially against tracer. I hit my chains on them on my screen and I understand if it’s a sombra that used her translocate before I chained her but there was one time where she literally threw it the exact moment I chained her and I wanted to scream

How do I play against poke (ash, widowmaker)

Im diamond 2 support and i absolutely love playing mizuki but is so annoying when I'm against poke because I can get any aura. And it feels like my hat is a big sign saying "HEADSHOT ME". And then I just get tilted and miss every chain known to man and for get to flank

Raven Mizuki - Concept Assistance

Hey Mizuki Nation. I am working on a "Raven" inspired Mizuki skin. I am probably over thinking this but I would like to ask the Mizuki Nation what kind of hair I should put on him. I just want to make sure it looks like something you all would use. I personally like the one on the left, but idk if it looks bad or not. Even though it's just a doodle, if there is any changes to the outfit I am accepting that too! I don't have the best fashion sense. 😭

Mizuki, a study in design

I gotta handle to blizzard, when it comes to Mizuki, I think everything in his design comes together, downright to his role as a support, to his persona and lore. So I would like to break it down by each details what is a design heavily influenced by Shintoism and sacred paper amulets.

  1. His Youkai and overall outfit.

As part of a yokai-themed gang, Mizuki is represented by the Kappa. Reptile-like water dwellers designed after turtles, with a sharp beak and a depression on top of their heads to carry water, the source of their strenght. This is easily reflected in Mizuki's beak-like mask and his large hat.

But thats not all.. Upon closer look on his outfit, something else caught my attention: Those two, huge zigzaging pieces attached to his waist. Those seem reminiscent to Shide, paper strips folded in this pattern used in purification rituals in Shinto temples!

His hat is also quite interesting as it not only reminisces of a turtle shell, but have Ofudas, those paper strips used as purification amulets and good luck charms, which we more than know already from Kiriko's own strips, going along Mizuki's obsession with good luck charms and perhaps even explaining why his HAT is a tool of healing.

  1. His weapon

This is perhaps the more jarring contrast. Kappas are known to strangle and drown their victims, yet Mizuki was given a scythe (or specificaly, a Kusarigama, a.k.a. Chain Sickle) that launches blades of air. This could possibly draw inspiration from another Yokai: The Kamaitachi, a.k.a. Sickle Weasel. A Yokai, as the name implies, in the form of a weasel with scythe-like claws that can cut with blades of wind. Perhaps Mizuki's double agency is pointed out by being dressed as one Yokai, but weaponizing another.

  1. Katashiro return

Katashiro is a paper doll used in Shintoism as purification charms, always cut like a little person and inscribed with symbols. Quite simple and again, part of Mizuki's obsession with purification and good luck. In Japanese culture dolls are often substitutes of a human body, not unlike the pop culture idea of voodoo dolls, where people would use Katashiros to cleanse their impurities and then burn it or throw down a river. Mizuki essentialy swap places with a doll meant to be his proxy or tether.

  1. Spirit Chain

Might be a bif of a stretch, but his usage of a chain doesn't fall far from spiritual reasons. Chains are symbols of burden, binding, haunting, depicting boundaries and safe space. By binding enemies, it's like Mizuki is cursing them, putting a burden upon their shoulders.

  1. Kekkai Sanctuary

Again with a translation, "Kekkai" simply means "Barrier" (a word you will hear every other episode of Inuyasha...), a safe boundary, as his Ultimate heals and protects against outside damage. Design-wise it's a bit smarter here. You will notice the top of his Kekkai have this rope with, would you look of that, hanging Shide strips! In Shintoism, temples hang large ropes, often with Shide, called Shimenawa, once again symbols of purification and holy boundaries.

  1. Conclusion

At first I saw Mizuki as just a bit generic, your sci-fi techno-japanese ninja-wannabe with some "cool" and "sharp" elements, and even though his kit felt more like a DPS but turned Support on last minute with the aura and hat (which I imagined was meant to bounce from enemies as a form of AoE damage) But the more I looked at things, the more his design pieced together. Even his Medic Aura when I think about it, he is so covered in amulets, purification charms and rituals, it's not hard to imagine he EXUDES purification! He's a walking temple warding off evil! Although I personaly think his White and Red skin fits better with the image of a "Healer" (since those colours always remind me of ambulances and hospitals).
