slot pts and theo weirdness?

Without giving away too much..

Is it normal for VP to give 2x the slot pts per tier credit that reel slots does?

Also is it normal for freeplay that's part of your offer ("show-up freeplay") to give tier credits and slot dollars, just like betting cash does?

Because I noticed both of these things (at different properties, at different machines) during this trip.

Is this what happens when you win too much?

Approx 10k up since october, and a trip to vegas covered by CC rewards.
Does this mean I'm no longer welcome?

Finally got my comps for my March play! Stayed at the Reserve at Park for 2 1/2 days. Only slots.

Took long enough…but I think MGM and Caesars are feeling the heat from lack of tourists not wanting to pay $20 for a bottle of water.

I’m very happy with my offer, I have 4 comp nights that I can use for any resort (Bellagio, Aria, Cosmo, ect.), plus $200 free play.

Is this normal for this type of play?

MGM 30% Theo - Outdated Info?

It seems many people’s offers are not matching up with the conventional wisdom that mgm comps 30% of theoretical loss.

Mine are certainly nowhere close. On an average 3 night trip I will give them $20k coin-in. I also do some blackjack sessions at a $100 average bet, but not many of those.

I admittedly stay mostly non-weekends, but I still routinely get comped sky suites at Aria, plus $375 FP and $150 RC.

It feels like the 30% is funneled entirely to the FP and RC, and they now view the room inventory as loss leaders, basically giving them away. The bigger players get the better rooms, but the actual room cost is barely factored into the formula. Maybe simply what it costs them to operate (AC and housekeeping), which is pennies on the dollar.

Any thoughts?

Is there a better way to do this?

I travel 3/4 times a year to Vegas. My buddy always gets a comped two bedroom
So I stay with him. But to get my free play and resort credit I book a comped room
For me too but never use it.

Insane changes to offers over a few days.

Just a data point and a rant. last trip was in January 2026, over $12k coin in which is about 6x my last trip (first trip with a bigger budget). January budget is closer to what I have for every trip moving forward. been waiting to see comped offers theoretically increase to book our next trip, but since Jan my offers have been the same or WORSE since my 2025 offers. Nearing the end of the month I logged in yesterday to see if maybe things updated early and had some great offers! 4 nights everywhere but bellagio and cosmo, $100 free play, $100 resort credit. Awesome ill talk to my buddies and maybe get this booked.

well today I log in and my comps are worse than they were a week ago. Down to $50fp/$50-100 resort credit depending on the property and worse availability. Disappointing.

Air Travel Credit-Beau Rivage, Borgata

Question if anyone has experience redeeming the air travel credit to Beau Rivage or Borgata. I’m specifically wondering if the MGM rewards desk would accept flight receipts from either the New Orleans or Philadelphia airports as they are bigger than either the Biloxi and Atlantic City airports and have more flight availability.

Does anyone know what this July 4 Borgata offer is?

I assume because it says to redeem at a slot machine, it’s FreePlay, but I just want to make sure.

Future comp offers.

Ive been here in Vegas for 7 days. Have been playing the slots consistently in MGM properties for at least 3-4 hours a night hovering between the $1 bet and up to $10 when bankroll has allowed.. all gambling done around my pre planned itinerary.. I leave tomorrow the 29th June.

When can I expect to see my next round of offers?

Any help is appreciated 😀

Tell me if I’m expecting too much

Got offered a host at Bellagio last sept. Booked 2 trips since (standard 2 queen rooms) through her.

Last trip I took in Dec I got a limo to the property but she didn’t book one for the return trip. Met her in person and asked where it was and she implied it was my fault for not reminding her. Ended up taking a taxi.

I’m taking my family of 4 for a weekday trip (Tuesday-Friday) next month. Asked for a bellagio suite by name (shows as 2 comped nights, $164 owed in my mgm app). She asked “is 2 beds ok?” and didn’t mention she meant a fountain view queen room until I specifically asked.

I’m feeling like she’s giving me the brush off, silently downgrading, etc. I don’t ask for a lot of F&B usually and have never asked for extras like shows. I did ask for a cabana 1 day for the fam this time. The kids have never been to Vegas before so I was wanting to make it special

I’m also hosted at RW at the same play level and I have to say, although he forgot my late checkout once which was an annoyance, my host there is super responsive and helpful - suite, limo, F&B, show tickets all easy peasy.

Play level: $200/hand BJ 4-6 hrs/day, $30k marker.

Let me know if I’m just being an entitled douchebag. Thanks!

Edit: also last trip she forgot to do backend comps at all and I got charged, I had to ping her a week later and get it fixed. Just kinda sloppy.

Comped room and alternate schedules

My husband and I are going next week on a fully comped room. I'm going to arrive before him (work schedules are different) and during the trip he will be meeting up with some old friends, so I will have at least one meal, possibly a couple more, on my own. We figured he could check in in the app but I've seen conflicting things about adding another guest on the app for a comped room. Also could I room charge without him present? Or do I really just need to wait several hours for him to physically be there, and pay for my solo meals when we have a fair amount of resort?

Great experience on the latest Vegas trip - 90% Comp

Hello,

I was Pearl status and in Jan we booked to go back to Vegas for June 2026 (we're from the UK, the last time we went was Sep 2025). We had an offer on my MGM Rewards account for 4 Nights comp, $150 in F&B credits and $120 in free play. We actually booked for 10 nights at the Aria as we also benefitted from discounted rates so for the full 10 nights we'd booked it cost us $950 (resort fee included in that).

How ever.... I reached Gold tier on the second to last night there and I was only $2,000 in the red thanks to winning 3 handpays ($2000+) on slots whilst there. I went to the rewards desk to enquire about how I can get the resort fee waived for the entire 10 nights since now I'm gold. They told me I had to go to the front desk as they can't do it at the rewards desk anymore, so I went there and the front desk at the Aria refused to waive the resort fees saying if I was Pearl when I booked when I still have to pay. Know I know that wasn't true as even on MGM Rewards website it says if you progress to gold whilst on your trip, the resort fee will still be waived.

So I ended up going back to the rewards desk and they agreed with me and said they should be doing it. So the lady (who was fantastic) made a call to someone, I'm guessing a casino host to get the resort fee waived. Who ever it was she spoke it was amazing, as not only did she remove the resort fee, she also comped 90% of our entire bill. Every night we ate at a different restaurant at a MGM property and charged everything to our room, including pool drinks and anything else. There was 2 nights our evening meal was over $400 each (one at Jean George's Steakhouse and the other at Gymkhana as we was drinking $35 glasses of wine during our meal). All that was wiped too. The only thing she couldn't remove was the tips and the drinks at the bar at Eataly (it was giving her an error message).

So overall for our 10 nights with all food and beverages, it cost us $546!!

The staff at Aria I found where excellent, well except for the lady who didn't want to waive our resort fee at the front desk. So make sure you pay a visit to the rewards desk at the Aria, I've always found them so helpful. Actually that reminds me, two days prior the same lady helped me with an issue with my 2-4-1 Gelato voucher at the Aria Patisserie as we bought two but when we went to pay she said there was no reward so we still paid full price which we wasn't fussed about, but we went to the rewards desk the day after to make sure it was activated and she said it was and that it was used, when we said we still got charged full price she actually gave us a service voucher which allowed us to have $50 ($25 per person) off our bill at any restaurant, which we used at Din Thai Fung. Customer service from the Aria reward desk is the best I've experienced and it's all thanks to one lady (I wish I knew what her name was now).

But anyway, a question for you all. What do people with Gold Tier status usually get offered and when can I get to see them? I'm still seeing the same offers as when I was Pearl (4 nights comp, discounted rate, $120 free play and $150 F&b credit, or if I choose park mgm then $250 f&b credit).

Trip Report - Cosmo! Boom or Bust???

Back again from another fun weekend!

We've been going to Vegas a bit this year, rooms are cheap and the times are fun. As such we've been doing more than just drinking/gambling and I'd like to share some of my recent experiences.

Hotel - COSMO

Check in- there is no MGM "invited guest" line at Cosmo like there is at Aria ( mgm credit card holders and higher tier checkin (excluding noir).. they have a Marriott platinum or whatver line.. so we ended up waiting in the general line- about 20 people.. they had 6-7 check in desks open tho... the only room they had ready was a very low floor, lady suggested we wait for a higher room and she gave me a fountain view. - went to the bar to get $ to come back to tip her and she was gone!

Cosmo, like Aria is starting to show its age. I booked the cheapest room there (no balcony) BUT it was fountain facing... now I will say, last year we had a city/mountain view in the summer with a balcony and it if you know Vegas, peak heat hits around 3/4pm... so our room was COOKING AND if you know the A/C's in these rooms dont always feel like they go down to where they say... (this has always baffled me)... so in hindsight, while we didnt have a balcony, we escaped the heat! So that was nice.. i jsut wish these rooms had bigger windows.

Room was decent, nice big shower, it was kinda dimly lit but it was fine oh and an extra fridge.. this was a nice touch.

Amenities

We went to the gym here and while it was nice'ish, it too was a little dark... no view (unlike the Aria which has a TON of natural light and is adjacent to the pool)
Aria gym feels like a true resort, blows cosmos out of the water IMO. My wife went in to work out the next day and one of the New Kids on the Block was in there working out! She was pumped about that.

We skipped the pool this time because, honestly there's really no reprieve from the sun compared to the Aira pool which is nicely lined wth trees. The non-party Chelsea pool on the 14th floor is kind small.. and the other choice was Marquee/Boulevard Pool

Gaming

Good selection of slots and tables per usual. High Limit room is still under construction. They actually have TWO sections of HL slots, one in room adjacent to the HL Card games.. and one up in the Talon Club ( i think its upstairs somewhere near elevators) but more high limit slots (old three reels are found there also)

We went to the KNOTB concert at Park MGM.. wife was a big fan and we found super cheap tickets.. they put on a great show.. LOTS of women in there so that was nice lol.. I'm along for the fun.

TLDR

Cosmo still delivers with the party vibe and people watching, food is all top notch. Rooms are starting to show age but the views are unmatched ... for. a more resort like experience, we prefer the Aria.

We still like drinking/gaming at the Cosmo but will be staying at the Aria come next trip, all things considered.

this is one of those half windows, where it doesnt go all the way across OR down.

$40 tickets for KNOTB at Park MGM

View from the room.. Chelsea Tower, no balcony fountain view..

Is there any downside to taking a comp'd room?

My wife and I have only recently earned status, and we're really happy with our measly Pearl status. We've been assigned a host at our favorite casino (maybe by accident), and our playbook is the same every time (thanks to the learning/lurking we've done on this sub):

  1. Charge all of the food & bev to the room.

  2. In the morning before check-out, sit down with our host and review our play and check for any additional comps.

She'll usually write off some, and keep some, and that's fine.

I'm currently planning our next trip and, for the first time, we have access to a high-end comp'd suite.

Now, the truth is, we don't *need* a suite for anything. It's fun to feel fancy, but most of our time is spent outside of the room, and we don't really require much space (we also go on cruises, so yeah, any land-based hotel is going to be good enough).

I'm asking because I'm curious to know how the room "cost" impacts our end-of-trip settle-up. In other words, if we take the "expensive" room as our comp room, does that leave us less food and bev write-off at the end of the trip?

Or....opposite? They don't care what kind of room we take?

Also, any tips are welcome. I see people talk about "the $20 trick" which I assume is slipping someone at the desk $20 for a room upgrade when you check in? Again...if I'm honest, a nicer room isn't something we're too worked up about.

Thanks in advance!

Might be wrong sub for this....but can I book parents Vegas trip on my MGM account?

I wanted to buy my mom a trip to vegas for her bday. Can I do it on my account? Or do I need to be there for her to check in? Any downside to doing this as well? I am a pearl member.
