Quick help as the variegation on the left one seems a bit cream to me and Im not completely convinced its not a mislabeled thai
Our albo just had her first inner fenestrations! She’s absolutely THRIVING under the growing light.
This also is her first leaf with this much white🤩
Hi everyone! I need some advice about my beloved Monstera Albo.
As you can see from the pictures, she has started producing very white leaves, and I’m getting a little worried about how much variegation she has.
I’m wondering whether I should cut her back now, or let her grow for a little longer and see what happens with the next leaf.
If you think I should cut her back, where exactly would you make the cut? I’d really appreciate it if someone could point out which node/stem I should cut at and explain why.
I’m honestly a little nervous about cutting her because I really don’t want to make things worse.
What would you do if this were your plant?
Any advice or tips would be very much appreciated! ❤️🌱
I got this back in February to replace my albo that died and I’m obsessed with its variegation 😩
6 months and going strong! 💪🏽😍🥰 Giving as much light as possible for being basically in a walkway but can't seem to get this one to get the little inside leaf holes. Hopefully soon because the cutting I grew it from last year had them! But it also wasn't a halfmoon, it grew into this!
I have several Monsteras including a big Thai Con but have always wanted an Albo. I had never seen one in person but my local plant store had two of them today. Paid a shit ton of money but didn’t think twice. So excited to see her grow.
About 6 months ago I added a moss pole and boy did this leaves start sizing up fast
This is a rare monstera cutting and the new leafs don’t look like monstera leafs… is this normal? Will they change shape later?
Hi Monstera friends!
I’ve had this Monstera since March. I bought her as a very slightly variegated rooted cutting from a home where she wasn’t getting enough light, and by the time I got her she had essentially reverted. For reference, the one random/stray leaf was actually the top leaf when I got her. 😂
Since moving her into much better lighting (huge west facing window, even exposure from north), she’s been loving life. She’s put out ~5 new leaves since March, the new growth has been healthy, and I’m starting to notice some white coming back into the stem. The newest leaves are also looking much better than the older growth (bigger more fenestrations).
I’ve noticed some yellowing on a few of the leaves, and some of the older leaves have browning tips. The previous owner said they never had thrips, but I treated for them anyway and have never found any evidence of them.
I did introduce Foliage-Pro about 2 months ago, so I’m wondering if I may have gotten a little too enthusiastic with fertilizer and contributed to the yellowing (flushing w/ last 2 waterings).
The other thing I’m curious about is the growth direction around the moss pole. The newest leaf is just finishing hardening and has already produced 2 (possibly 3) aerial roots, but the stem is starting to wind around the pole rather than climbing straight up.
As far as variegation goes, I’m honestly not too concerned. I have a beautiful Thai Constellation that’s thriving, so I’m not trying to force this plant to become highly variegated.
My goal is simply a big, healthy Monstera. If the variegation comes back, awesome a large mature plant is the priority.
So, if this were your plant, what would you do from here?
- What’s your foliage pro fertilizer routine?
- How would you address the yellowing?
- Would you redirect the stem around the moss pole?
- I know it’s time to extend it!
- Most importantly… would you chop her, or let her keep climbing? 😂
Open to any advice from the Monstera experts!
Hello good people of Reddit. I have a monstera albo (pictured below) that was only recently up potted into a bigger pot about two to three months ago. It immediately fell in love with the pot and started putting out new large finnestrated leafs like crazy. It all sounds like a great thing but I have three issues:
All of the new aerial roots are missing the moss pole
I keep having to move up my grow light and my other plants are getting less of a benefit from them now.
the roots have already started to fill up the new pot and are coming out of the bottom, as shown.
So my questions are as follows:
How can I get the aerial roots back to the correct direction of the moss pole, or should I air layer and propagate?
What can I do to make it so that I don’t have to keep raising the light and the other plants are still well lit?
Is it okay for me to again repot it within the next 6 months since the roots have gone so crazy?
I look forward to hearing all of your replies. :)
Disaster struck 😭 Lesson learned.
Luckily the leaf was the second newest with barely any green.
¡Agradezco cualquier consejo o experiencia!
Muchas gracias
So excited for her new leaf!
She hasn’t had much big white sections in her leaves and this one seems to have a lot.
Can’t wait for her to unravel and reveal her newest leaf
Seems like the more variegation it gets, the less leaf it has 🥲 pic 2 seems like pests to me? Its been in the same spot and conditions since i received (somewhere around pic 4 lol) just wondering whats going on or if this is normal 😅
Bonjour, je viens d'acquérir cette Monstera j'ai déjà une Albo mais celle ci je la trouve différente au niveau de l'écart des noeuds et de la panachure je voudrais vos avis !?
My cutting rooted a while ago in water, but then I was gone for a couple weeks and the water dried up along with the roots:( I’ve had it in water since (about 4 weeks) hoping it will root again, but I just noticed today the leaf is starting to go limp and still no sign of new roots, what can I do to save her?😭
The last photo is of the newest leaf. I haven’t been watering my monstera albo consistently so I was thinking this was potential stress from non consistent watering. Looking closer, it looks like potential thrips damage? All advice is appreciated🙏
