Does anyone have any tips or advice on where to park or best way to get to the academy? I live in putnam county and it sounds like I would be looking at a 2hr commute with traffic and parking would cost another $20 per day. I feel like 4 months of this will be terrible. Maybe find an apartment close to the academy?

got called for both but don’t know what I should do both are dream careers for me so I’m torn.

I scored at 74.1 and was 12xxx on the list. Just got the Pat invite the other day like a lot of people. Do I have a legit shot at getting called with my score being so low ? Seeing a lot of mixed reviews here. Would appreciate some feedback thanks

Hey was just wondering what the REQUIREMENTS to graduate are for this. I am 28 and in fairly decent shape but my running long distance is not good.

So I’ve currently passed all of the other phases of the screening process: PAT, psych evaluation, background check. And have my pre appointment medical scheduled for later this month. Curious to know what my chances are of making next academy. Just trying to get an idea of where I stand since they don’t give you much information.

I noticed the major change on the NYS Courts website for Exam 45-843. The official page previously showed that canvassing had reached Rank 1 – 5,630, with scores down to 84.1, but it now shows canvassing has reached Rank 1 – 12,737 with scores 107.3 – 74.1. What concerns me is that when the list showed Rank 5,630, only around 270 candidates reportedly made it to the first academy class. Now they have gone another 7,107 ranks lower, down to Rank 12,737. If roughly another 270 candidates make it into the next academy class, that would mean only about 540 candidates out of 12,737 have made it to the academy, leaving approximately 12,197 candidates who did not make it through the process. Obviously, this is very concerning. Does anyone know why there is such a large gap between the number of candidates being canvassed and the number ultimately making it to the academy?

I wasn’t expected to hear back after all this time and a passing but mediocre score on civil service test. I’m getting called in to come in December 10th for the physical test. I have not worked out in a long time I know I should have kept up with myself but that’s the reality. I was planning to train everyday until then but right now I can’t even do one push up or sit up. Should I just not bother or is there a chance I could get there in time?

Okay, this might be a dumb question. I just got the email for the PAT a few days ago, but if I go through the PAT and the other tests but don’t get into the academy before this test list closes and the new one opens, do you have to repeat all the steps in the process? Can you still get into the academy on these results even if the test list is closed?

So like most I got the email to take my PAT beginning of December. I’m not worried I’m very active and in physical shape. I wanted to know what time frame I can expect going forward. When I pass my PAT how long until the next step and if all go well when do you think I would expect to start?

Does anyone know the anticipated academy date for the candidates that are just being canvassed now for the December PAT tests?

For those that have completed the Agility test, how long will a candidate expect to be there? Is it a full Day or a few hours?

I just got the email saying they scheduled me for the physical on December 6 of this year . I got a 82 I didn’t think they would get to me, but I’m already scheduled to take the test tomorrow. I already called out of work

I got an 81 on the last test and just got an email for the PAT for Dec 8th. I have a foot injury and may not be better by then. Has anyone tried postponing it? Also do they require medial documentation?

is there any chance that they have people in 7xxx in the next academy? I’m going through a few other processes currently and want to have an idea. Thank you. and good luck to anyone in the process always!

I got a email for pat December 7th. Got a vacation planned from the 3rd to 11th of December . Should I postpone or just cancel the vacation.

Today (10/5/26) Got emailed for the physical ability test. I’m not looking past it but actively work out and in good shape, assuming i pass, can anyone on the job give me insight on the Psychological evaluation, what do they ask? How long is it? What can i expect, of course im looking way down the road but any insight would be much appreciated 😃
