Fuck every scab that helped pave the way for this by undermining our collective bargaining efforts.
And if you scabbed and lost your job, you deserved it. Fuck you especially and in particular.

Those who have 2 months left. Approve everything
Tried to sound the sirens the last couple days and was told to shut up and stop the rumours. Well, hopefully people were preparing mentally and financially for this. People are currently getting some of the worst news of their lives.
… but history has shown us that wildcat strikes and general strikes are effective.
Just more ways for WSIB to justify layoffs. AI tools, amd online services
IMO, the whole point of “RTO” was so that the headline now would be about office closure, not about firing staff.
The offices (many of them, anyway) have been closed for years.
The real headline isn’t about office closure.
It’s about firing union staff.
IMO, the plan has always been to privatize the WSIB.
I'm blown away by how this was handled. Several colleagues I was close with were laid off and now my family and I have to move on short notice. Can't believe RTO protections weren’t flushed out in our agreement. We got a tiny raise and next to nothing in return. What was the point of losing 7 weeks pay? Are others feeling the same?
When you don't get a response from your case manager,
Please know it's because Doug Ford just eliminated 500 union jobs that were working as best as they could with the already limited staff
Which now is going to be 10000 worse
When you wonder why things arent getting processed quickly or no one is calling you back
It's because AI is taking over
Be nice to your case managers who are still bleeding hearts and doing their best for you even at this shitty time knowing they don't have a job at the end of the year
The recent layoffs are sure to negatively impact service. Escalating service issues is how we help get the systemic issues documented.
Be diligent with escalations. First to manager, then FPC.
WSIB staff, please know we see you. We have to get the impacts on service documented, and this is the means to do so.
WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO USE OUR UNLIMITED MENTAL HEALTH BENEFITS BECAUSE OUR EMPLOYER FUCKED UP OUR MENTAL HEALTH AND OUR LIVES.
Thanks for attending my ted talk. I’m so sorry to all of my fellow coworkers who are, have been, will be affected by this.
I work in healthcare. I was physically assaulted multiple times by the same patient, with two assaults resulting in concussions. The patient also repeatedly threatened me and my coworkers.
I was diagnosed with PTSD by a psychiatrist in May 2026, and WSIB has the psychiatrist’s report on file. However, I’ve been fighting with my caseworker because WSIB has accepted the anxiety/depression aspect of my claim but has not accepted the PTSD diagnosis, despite having the diagnosis and supporting documentation.
My PTSD symptoms have significantly affected my ability to return to work and my life outside of work, including severe panic attacks, hypervigilance, nightmares, avoidance, and social withdrawal.
I recently submitted my Intent to Appeal and am trying to figure out what to expect from here.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar with WSIB? Did you successfully get PTSD accepted on appeal? What evidence or documentation helped your case? What was the appeal process like?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this, especially in Ontario.
Has anyone else been following all the rumours around the return-to-office announcement? Because at this point, I genuinely don't know what to believe.
There have been rumours for weeks that an announcement was coming, first last Thursday/Friday and now apparently today.
Has anyone heard anything concrete about today's announcement?
Can you get benefit entitlement for a depression claim?
Thx
I had a thread about RTO rumours and someone threatened to doxx me in a DM. But I would be remiss not to say that all BU staff needs to be worried.
The original rumours were correct, ignore that other thread. My source says return is January 2027 and workers without an office will be reassigned to their nearest office based on postal codes. It's not layoffs, just that you'll need to report to your assigned office by 2027 or face discipline/firing without cause. It's going to be labeled as "constructive dismissal" if you can't RTO due to your assigned office being too far. They want to avoid the term "layoffs".
I can confirmed that the announcement this week will be that all those regions with confirmed offices are returning Jan2027. All other regions will work from home and they will start the process of finding them offices next. No mass layoffs occuring.
