Seher khan should she be considered an A lister now ??

Looking at seher khan work

She is probably only one among younger lot who has both critical acclaim and commercial success

Tmnon and aik aur pakeezah she did a great job

And fairy tale obviously gave her a fandom

That is pretty strong

Should she be considered a successful commercial actress or a critically acclaimed one

Personally would say she has managed both

Her script selection has been best among newer ones

It's pretty balanced a Jin ki shadi unki shadi is done along aik aur pakeezah

(Talking about recent work )

What would be your opinion??

PTV version of Pride & Prejudice

I've been obsessed with this movie since forever, and what touched me the most was the fact that the social norms and Lizzy's family dynamics were very much similar to Pakistani society:

Her mom being obsessed with finding her daughters good matches, the status quo, the ball dances being almost like our weddings where mothers take their daughters to be exhibited as open to rishtas, Lizzy's friend settling for someone like Collins because of peer pressure and so on..

What I admired about Lizzy was she wasnt pseudo righteous, she stood up for her family and only accepted Darcy when he had rectified himself. But sadly, in most Pakistani dramas a selfrespecting girl is shown to be someone who has no manners and a brooding guy is borderline toxic. They can never do them right.

I would love to see a properly directed and intelligently written PTV drama on this novel, a respectable and chivalrous Darcy and a confident yet likable Lizzy and they don't have to be conventionally attractive with perfect features, they just have to act well.

Actors who can convey the mutual admiration and attraction without unncessary hugs and touching, can express disagreements without screaming and angst without crying their eyeballs out.

Who would you guys like seeing as your Darcy, Elizabeth, and the rest of the cast? (Please be creative and think outside the box)

My ideal cast would be:

Shehreyar/Adeel/Ahmed Ali Akbar as Darcy

Sanam Baloch/Syra Yousuf/Iqra Aziz as Elizabeth

Ayeza/Nawal Saeed/Dure as Jane

Reham Rafiq/ Anoushay Abbasi/ Fajr Shiekh as Mary Bennet

Mikal/Obi/Zain Baig as Charles Bingley

Naveen Waqar/Zoya Nasir/Kiran Haq as Caroline Bingley

Marina Khan/ Munazza Arif as Mrs Bennet

Noor ul Hassan/Syed Tanveer Hussain as Mr Bennet

Yasir Hussain/Mazhar Suleman as Mr Collins

Shuja/Nameer as Mr Wickham

What do you think?

Racism in Pakistani Dramas

This is gonna be a hot take and might get even downvoted and a lot of mean replies but i want to say that directors and writers of Pakistan are extremely racist to Pakhtoons.

Why do they always portray them with naswaar, jaahil, unable to speak Urdu and always doing mazdoori or some backward zameendar killing people?

There have been so many Pakistani dramas, almost every one with a pakhtoon character has been like this.

People should visit KPK actually and see how well educated they actually are. Yes good and bad are everywhere, even among pubjabis and sindhis but why is the bad/low side of pakhtoons only shown in PTV?

The current issue with men in pakistani dramas

We have had our fair share of toxic alpha males but the current rise in insecure and under confident male leads. The ones who pretend to be green flags but turn out to be red flags. These male leads have been abused and have an inferiority complex.

Salman from Dr bahu and aun from zabt are two of the best examples. These men have failed as husbands you can not pretend to be understanding and then lash out and misunderstand your wife. Both salman and aun are no better then men like Dr shahnawaz, faizan and shami ( zabt). They do not listen to the people they claim to love and they do not trust their wives. Such men are worse than toxic male leads because they fool you in to believing that they are green flags and the ideal husbands.

I have zero hopes for Anas in bas tera sath ho because I am sure he will go down the same path. Even shehreyar munawar's character in radd became toxic at the end.

Facing abuse is not excuse to be shitty and hurt other people. Writers who write these characters toy with the viewers feelings and I think it's important do discuss such characters.

Leader episode 17

What an explosive episode. Kinza Hashmi as Rubab was on fire. She knows how to play the game on her own rules and how to keep her authority and ppl around her in check. Yet, Mansoor's betrayal is stuck like a sore thorn and focus is driven by revenge. Mansoor could tell, he could see it in her eyes. There scenes toghter were good, they have good chemistry. I loved the elevator scene. Team Rubab!!! Go get those 2 seats.

This Look

People usually don’t hype him enough but he is certainly one of the most good looking actor in Pakistan. Was watching Kuch Ankahi the other day and his styling and outfits were complimenting him so much. Most probably the best dressed male in Pakistan Industry. Haha this post might look like a PR but believe me it isn’t, I just Love Him. Wese agar kuch actors apne management par kuch kaam karte tho aaj kaha se kaha hote.
Lastly didn’t liked Kuch Ankahi, kuch ziada hi log gussa diye aik drame mein 🙂

Humrahi episode 29

SPOILER WARNING. god knows why I started watching this show but, the show has simply been unwatchable 11-12th episode onwards…

This whole atonement and guilt thing Seyhaan has is somehow not too bad and I do think that Danish has done a fairly okay job. But, for me, this hero is now irredeemable after this episode. How do you have the main lead of a show asking a rapist to marry his victim as atonement in 2026?!? like how do you justify marrying this poor victim off to a monster so she can’t escape him for life provide any justice?!? He did kill him I guess but that does not deserve any applause either because his initial plan was this disgusting idea.

side note: what a fantastic actor Hajra is, I wish she’d get to play main lead soon.

also, why is Ilham in this show? What was that conversation between Chanda and Seyhaan talking about how his heart doesn’t know the difference between Ilham and Elif???like I get that it is clearly setup for their future track but ughhh the ICK.

And when that narcissist tried blaming a heartattack for it ooff, even after her death he was making himself look perfect, then insulted salman and also taunted saniya.

Allah sab aurtho ko aise mard se bachaye
