Double Standards towards our Actors

Nothing beats our awaam and their misplaced sense of optimism as well as self-centered moral standards.

We don’t actually care about morality. We just hate seeing our own people succeed.

If a Pakistani celebrity, (actresses especially) pushes the envelope, the comment section turns into an Inquisition. “Fahashi hai!"

Yet those exact same outrage addicts spend their nights binge-watching Bollywood, Turkish epics, and Netflix without batting an eye.

It was never about “fahashi.” It’s double-standard elitism. We forgive foreign media for everything, but weaponize piety against our own artists the second they step out of line.

Look at Iran. Under brutal restrictions, they didn’t waste time policing their artists. Rather they focused more on storytelling and cinematography. Now Iranian cinema wins Oscars and gets studied in Hollywood.

Meanwhile, our entire cultural discourse is trapped in a loop of Instagram/TikTok policing and outrage bait.

If you judge art by morality and compliance instead of script, direction, and performance, you don’t get culture. You get slop.

Seedream > Nano Banana

Comparing an image generated with the same prompt. One image is made using Seedream 4.5 run on openart ai vs flow ai's nano banana pro.

Seedream looks way better and got the woman character's proportions right just like I wanted. Nano banana, although it is good it would ignore the character features and some of the camera instructions. So which one do you think is better? Or am I wrong.

Ignores my reference photos!

Nano banana pro completely ignores my reference photos so I always have add "
USE THE CHARACTERS FROM THE REFERENCE PHOTOS." in all caps for it register in the AI's brain and I still get wrong results. 6/10 wrong results. It works fine on Nano Banana 2 but not on the pro version which has a cooldown limit after specific number of uses and 2k downloads.

📢 We're looking for 3–5 moderators — think you've got what it takes?

https://preview.redd.it/3vznqy0ppw4h1.png?width=1684&format=png&auto=webp&s=8451a6bbfb547c7ec0a6873a915465322d76ed05

This community is growing and we need people who actually care about keeping it that way.

We're not looking for power-hungry mods or people who want a title. We want calm, fair, consistent people who genuinely love Pakistani entertainment and want this to be the best space for it on Reddit.

What you'll be doing

  1. Reviewing the mod queue daily (doesn't take long, 10–15 mins)
  2. Removing posts and comments that break the rules
  3. Keeping religious policing, simping, and hate in check
  4. Helping shape community culture as we grow
  5. Occasionally pinning mod notes on trending posts

What we're looking for

  1. Active Reddit account (3+ months old, some history)
  2. Familiar with Pakistani entertainment — actors, singers, influencers, dramas
  3. Level-headed — you don't get into arguments, you enforce rules and move on
  4. Available at least once a day to check the queue
  5. Bonus: different time zones welcome so the sub stays covered around the clock

What you won't be doing

  1. Abusing mod powers to push personal opinions
  2. Targeting users you personally dislike
  3. Going rogue on bans without mod team discussion
  4. Zero tolerance for mod abuse. This is a community first, a power trip never.

How to apply

Drop a comment below or send a modmail with answers to these three questions:

Q1: Why do you want to mod this sub specifically?

Q2: A user keeps posting religious policing comments after two warnings. What do you do?

Q3: Who's a Pakistani celebrity you think is genuinely underrated and why?

Applications close in 7 days. We'll reach out to shortlisted candidates via modmail.

Was trying to what was taking up space on C and oh boy...

I recently installed a dual boot system with ubuntu, which was taking less space than expected where as on Windows, my C drive would always fill up even without updates so I decided to see what is up using the spacesniffer tool and oh boy, the bloat here had me rolling on the floor.

We need Media Literacy

Since the increasing rise of social media in the pandemic, there have been a number of individuals on facebook and youtube presenting themselves as self proclaimed geniuses (some even have messiah complex).

These individuals spread negativity and unverified claims as truth when they are just farming for views and loyalty through fear mongering. They built their audiences on the foundation of Hate, Fear, and Anger, the 3 things that block the Brain's Prefrontal Cortex or Critical Thinking and Analysis.

It is baffling that the internet space which used to act as hub for us young gen z and millennials to escape from the IRL dystopian nature of our country, and now, those same blood sucking mosquitos have found their place in social media. then they have the audacity to call it "freedom of speech". They primarily target political, cultural and social circles with weak minded individuals.

There is even a religious cult group, that if you criticize them or debunk them, they will mass flag your account instead of having a nuanced discussion. The same blasphemy rhetoric that we have faced for generations is now on the internet thanks to these cavemen bozos. No citizen or politician has the right to be a moral police of someone.

My grandfather used to be a critical thinker but after using facebook in recent years, their minds have been brainwashed with far right rhetoric. He cursed at a 17 year old child that was murdered in cold blood because she "existed" on the internet. I fear if this continues without government intervention or awareness, these man-children could lead the country to more ignorance and civil unrest which could be a disaster for all of us.

A great friend once told me,

"Good times create weak people, weak people create bad times, bad times create strong people, and strong people create good times."
