My friend wants me to chat with her fiance from a fake account to test his loyalty

I have been friends with her since kindergarten. She has always been supportive, kind, and the sort of friend that always has your back. She got engaged a few months ago, but the guy seems shady to her.

I’m willing to help her figure things out, but she’s been pushing me to create a fake account to send a request to the fiance. I’m not so sure about this because

  1. my parents are really strict
  2. the fiance is much older and influential
  3. I find this whole idea unsettling

I have tried to turn her down entirely, but she comes up with another reason to do it. I value my friendship with her and wouldn’t want to lose her over this since, she’s becoming increasingly persistent. Please suggest a way for me to refuse without upsetting her.

fashion ick: net sleeves with a partial fabric lining

i js can’t seem to like it. either sleeves with no lining or won’t opt for net sleeves at all. i’m aware that it’s meant for modesty.

why are the first two considered performative but, not the last two?

matcha, books and business casual is all considered performative but, what abt the males who are wearing logos, expensive logos or accessories that signify wealth? is it not performing for an audience? i’d like to hear perspectives from both men and women.

fashion has historically involved questionable levels of discomfort

i’ll prob die on this hill but, i’d rather suffer for the aesthetic.

Where do you draw the line on Haq Mehr?

the requested haq mehr amounts or other demands in this video seem far beyond what the avg person could realistically afford.

i understand that the bride has the right to set her haq mehar, and the groom has the right to accept or decline. but at what point do the expectations become impractical?

is it social media that is encouraging increasingly extravagant demands, or have these cases always existed and are just getting more attention now?

where would you personally draw the line, and why?

what fashion opinion will put you in this position?

  1. not everything has to be baggy or oversized.

  2. designer lawn isn’t worth it.

  3. bridal fashion or makeup has become repetitive.

Pakistan has enough real problems. It doesn’t need fabricated evidence.

  1. I tried to search for the origin of the first video. I couldn’t find any verifiable source but, found this same post in an i*dian subreddit from 10 years ago. I don’t know what to make of that.

  2. The vehicle is extensively used in military battlefields so, I couldn’t find any connection that ties it directly to Pakistan.

  3. I saw an emblem or insignia on the APC right behind this MaxPro. I searched all over the internet but, didn’t find any similar ones associated with our military.

  4. I read a comment saying that it’s a different dialect of Pashto and the person in the video is referring to talibans.

  5. The second picture is AI-generated.

  6. There are no sources for either claims except from i*dian news. According to them, their forces invaded Lhr port in May 2025.

With that being said, Kashmir’s cause or any protest against the government isn’t helped by AI images, recycled videos, or unverified claims. If anything, it gives people an excuse to dismiss legitimate grievances. Exaggerated claims, especially those amplified to push a particular narrative, shouldn’t be accepted uncritically.

The Rise of Trad Wife Content in Pakistan

i’ve been noticing this lately.

it’s almost always the same formula: the woman works outside the home (or has a full-time content career), comes back to cook a feast, keeps the house spotless, serves everyone, and somehow looks perfectly put together throughout. every video feels carefully curated to present an ideal.

am i reading too much into this? is this content simply harmless lifestyle inspiration, or raising unrealistic expectations for women in Pakistan?

curious to hear both men’s and women’s perspectives.

Why has Punjab outperformed Sindh in development despite both having unelected governments?

This reel popped up on my feed today. I’m trying to understand the politics behind Sindh not keeping up pace. Punjab isn’t perfect overall but why is the gap with Sindh so wide?

what’s one fashion trend that NEEDS to die already? i’ll go first: micro bags.

zero functionality. like the microscopic LV bag got sold for around $60,000? i can’t wrap my head around it. i cannot get behind trends that exist just for the sake of existing.

ladies pls say NO to coloured contact lenses meant to whitewash you

you don’t need lighter eyes to elevate your outfit or look prettier. i’d recommend wearing contacts that are closer to your natural eye colour. it will look so much more flattering and believable.

edit: i’m not against contact lenses. this is a fashion sub and i’m only stating my opinion.

edit 2: you don’t have to call me names to disagree with me. scroll away if you can’t do so respectfully. what im questioning is why the most popular cosmetic lenses are almost always grey, blue, or green. lighter features have been marketed as more desirable for decades. these trends dont exist in a vacuum.

yes, everyone has the freedom to wear whatever they like. but its also fair to ask whether our preferences are entirely our own when we have spent years being told that certain features are more beautiful than others.

your natural eye colour isnt something that needs fixing to complete an outfit or to look more polished.

my parents are draining the life out of me.

I’m 16 (F). I’m just so done with having to live with my parents. They’ve effectively made my life hell. I’ve an older brother, and he doesn’t get along with them either but, he lives in another city so, i’m left to face the brunt alone.

My mother just sent me abusive voice notes because i’m not talking to her. She constantly violates my privacy (sleeps in my room every single day), has her tuition classes in my room so, i’m left with only a fraction of the time in my own room. I’ve no idea why she doesn’t sleep in her room. She checked my phone, and scolded a guy friend for texting me. We were 14, back then. She calls me the R word repeatedly, and thinks that i’m a beghairat of the highest order. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve that, never had a boyfriend and i don’t even bother to step out of my house. She has been like this since i was a child, and it’s getting overbearing now.

My parents don’t get along with each other at all. They argue so much that their yelling is becoming my morning alarm now. My mother constantly looks down on me, always critical, doesn’t even let me breathe as i would like to. Sometimes, she becomes so sweet that i start to question the reality. I know that i shouldn’t let her words get to me but, i genuinely don’t feel like speaking to her. She imposes religion on me for no reason, i’ve started wearing the hijab but, that didn’t give her any sense of gratification. She’s always on my back, and my father is more or less the same. I don’t know how to get out of this situation.

She has prayed since my childhood that truck ka neeche aakr marjaou, told me on my birthday that tumhari jesi betiyoun ko hi zinda dafan krdete hain because i took too “long” to open the door.

I probably shouldn’t say this but, i don’t love my parents. My health has taken a hit, but they wouldn’t take me to a doctor. It’s not like that i spend a lot, i barely get new clothes and to top it off, she cooks extravagant meals only when my brother is home.

I genuinely feel that I’m being ungrateful because there are people who have it worse but, i’m actually at my wits end now. I’m not expecting anything by posting this but, please say a little prayer for me.

the characters seem like a caricature of Pakistanis

this randomly popped up on my feed. this seems so stereotypical like where’s that accent coming from? they’d do anything but, represent Pakistanis accurately.

A tiktok acc is posting AI-generated content featuring Sargodha’s rape victim

I don’t even have words to express the amount of disgust that i’m feeling right now. AI is unethical, but there’s an actual human behind these videos who’s generating them to garner views.

The parents have already suffered enough, and now they’re being exposed to this filth. the moral failure that you have to be at to even consider this is mind blogging to me.
