2018 Macan, former lease car?

All,

There is a 2018 Macan S with 65K. I test drove it this past weekend. I would have a PPI done to make sure there are no major issues like bore scoring. The only hesitation is that it is a former Corporate lease car. Should leased Macan's be avoided due to suspected abuse?

Thank you.

Transfer Case Fluid - DIY parts list?

Trying to keep my 2018 Macan base alive, recently started getting low speed lurching. I thought it was a wheel issue initially, as the indy shop I went to for an oil change offered me a good deal to swap rims and tires from a shop car after they saw how bald my tires were.

After doing some googling it sounds like the transfer case needs some TLC.

Looks like FCP has fluid and plugs, a 200ml syringe and tubing is easy enough to find.

The only things I’m unsure about are the diagnostic tool and ramps or some other means to get the car in the air.

Any suggestions?

(1) Money is tight, so I’m trying to do this on a budget, but also not trying to get crushed the first time I get a car.
(2) Do I actually need the diagnostic tool? Looks like for routine maintenance, no, but for my case resetting wear values might be needed?

2025 Macan base - want to add an aftermarket front camera - recs?

Anyone have a rec for an interface module that will work for adding a front camera for a 2025 Macan base (gas). Car has Bose if that matters. NavTV (who I've used in the past) apparently doesnt support this version. thx

Test drove today. As a not car person I need advice

Test drove a macan s today. All in 99k. Had a fun little sport button that gave me 20 seconds of what the car salesman laughed when I called Mario kart mushroom speed. Here’s my questions:
is this car worth 99k?
Do I need the S?
Do I need the Mario kart mushroom button? Does anyone actually use it?
Are my thoughts that I’m better off buying a 2024 with all the same buttons for 75k valid?
If Porsche is CPOing the 2024, can I ask them to ship it to my local Porsche?

For reference 29F; need an suv for my dog; I live in a mid size southern city and usually drive 15k miles a year; my hope is to hold onto this car for 5-10 years

2016 Macan S so many issues

Thinking of getting rid of my 2016 Macan S that has 80k miles. Recently had an engine oil leak, now a coolant leak among other things, seems it’s repair after repair at this point. Tired of the premium price on Porsche repairs but also do love owning it and the car.

If you’ve traded in your Macan, what have you switched over to? Any regrets? Most of the cars I’m looking at feel like a “downgrade” but I think the time has come…

2025 GTS Tuning

Anybody have an experience with tuning their newer GTS?

Considering getting a full fabspeed exhaust and having it turned afterwards, just not sure what the realistic gains will be from going this route.

Am I the only one that hates the HOLD feature when you’re stopped on an incline?!

I find it SO clunky and startling. I let off the brake and the car starts rolling forward and I go to tap the gas and that’s when it decides to brake. It scares me like I hit something!!

As far as I can tell there’s no way to disable it. Does anyone else have this experience?

2022 Macan S with 28k miles — both engine mounts “failed” $6,400 quote seems high

I recently bought a 2022 Porsche Macan S with about 28k miles and had a post-purchase inspection done at a local Euro shop.

They told me:
- both engine mounts have “failed”
- there’s also a fault for the exhaust pressure valve / exhaust flap motor (bank 1)

The quote for the engine mounts plus labor was about $6,400 before tax. ($5250 of that is labor)

I’m trying to get a sense from other Macan owners:

- Have any of you had engine mounts fail this early?
- What symptoms did you notice?
- What did you pay for replacement?
- Was it covered under factory warranty?
- Does this quote sound excessive?

The car drives well overall and had no other issues noted.

Also curious if anyone has dealt with the exhaust flap motor issue and whether that ended up being a simple fix or warranty item.

I know it’s a Porshe thing for labor to be $$$$ — just trying to learn more. Thanks

25 Macan base - pedal commander / tune?

Had a 2020 S... but can't justify the cost difference now.

- My S had a pedal commander - loved it, made a world of difference

- Tune:
Cobb (dealer can see it was tuned, even if removed? (re: warranty)
JB4 (piggyback) can remove it if needed

Besides the pedal commander the S was "set and forget"

Could use some guidance here--thanks!

2020 Macan S buying questions

Looking at getting a 2020 Macan S with ~56k miles, 2 previous owners (first was a lease) for $35k USD out the door. Only options are the premium package, heated steering wheel, and lane change assist. The Carfax really doesn't show any maintenance, however, I feel like it may not have been entered as there was a recent oil change sticker on the windshield. The car will be purchased from a used car dealer so they don't have any previous maintenance records. From my test drive and inspection of the car, the only things that need doing are brakes. I'm getting a PPI done at a trusted shop but just putting this out there to get opinions to see what you all think of the deal. Thanks in advance!

ECG or all real time data

took the time to write down all the real-time data that was displayed to me. Not necessarily out of boredom, but because I had a problem with the intake air temperature reading.
I’d love it if we could complete the values here...I only have the 82 data points from iCarsoft V3.0...and maybe one or two of you have even more data.

Then... I’m just dreaming here... but it would be great if there were another column here: Setpoint or Dependent on Column. If you ever have a strange feeling while driving or something similar later on, you can quickly check the values and at least have a point of reference.

I’ve already tried asking in the general forums, but it seems there aren’t many people interested in this.
Perhaps someone here would like to join in?

For example the first 10 - I can’t upload anything maybe because of unmoderated!

CPO with rock chip on hood near emblem

Considering purchasing ‘25 CPO from out of state. Dealer video shows a small rock chip on the hood near the emblem. Dealer says they will “touch it up” before delivery. Should I be concerned? I’m not a DIYer. Another CPO I’ve looked at had a rock chip on the lower faschia which would be less noticeable. If I were to proceed with this one, what kind of questions or demands should I ask/make?

2025 CPO Macan - still at dealer with no end in sight

I posted this about 11 days ago about my Macan purchased a month ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/PorscheMacan/s/WmDTScx9U4

More of a rant now but curious about everyone’s thoughts about this. Basically, a strange noise while at low RPMs developed right after I purchased. The dealer noted the noise and asked me to bring it back for further diagnosis. Took it in 11 days ago and I still don’t have any idea what’s going on. The dealer opened a ticket with Porsche five days ago and were advised to replace the front windshield sealer to further isolate the noise. OK, good parts ordered. But what’s really frustrating is they’ve had my car for two weeks and absolutely no idea when I’m gonna get it back. I’m starting to feel like I bought a lemon.

Service advisor has been communicative and helpful but I let her know I might want to exchange for another preowned if this persists. But then my sales person calls me and says well we can’t do a buyback…we’d need do a creative exchange if it comes to that. I get it but I’m like…I’ve had the car for 30 days and it’s been in service for 14 of them with no one in sight. No way would I want to lose money on this - that’s not right. I guess if I was a high roller with a 911 GT3 it would be different.

Should I just shut up and be patient? Is this a common thing with CPO Porsches? Ugh.

2015 Macan Turbo - PDK weep hole leak

I purchased a 2015 Macan Turbo and did not get a PPI. Turns out there were several fluid leaks including the infamous timing chain cover leak, coolant leak, PDK leak. I fixed the coolant leak myself with the radhaus aftermarket hose. I had the dealership fix the PDK leak but they are saying they are now seeing oil leaking from the weep hole which indicates an internal seal is damaged and the entire PDK needs replacing. I definitely can't afford to replace the entire PDK and the repair bill will likely be more than I purchased the car for.

With only this info, does anyone know how serious this is? Will I be able to get a couple of years out of the car making sure the PDK oil is topped off every few thousand miles, or is the PDK on its way out?
