Looking for some perspective from the community on ownership costs and reliability as my factory warranty wraps up.

I have a 2023 Macan GTS with roughly 21,000 miles. Factory warranty expires next month (November). Maintenance-wise, the car had its Year 3 service done slightly late in May because I was overseas for six months, but everything was completed thoroughly and it runs flawlessly with zero issues to date. The only nagging symptom is a low-speed brake squeak that started about two years ago and has gotten progressively louder/more frequent recently. The dealer service department inspected them during visits and claimed nothing is mechanically wrong or worn out.

Dropping several thousand dollars upfront on an extended warranty (Porsche Platinum or third-party like Fidelity) right now isn't ideal for my cash flow, but I want to avoid getting blindsided by a catastrophic repair down the road.

For those who’ve lived with the 2.9L twin-turbo V6 past the warranty mark:

1. Common failure points: What are the actual big-ticket items likely to fail between 25k and 50k miles on this generation? (e.g., air suspension, transfer case, coolant pipes, PDK mechatronics?)

2. The brake squeak: Is this just characteristic high-performance pad vibration / brake dust buildup (especially if PSCB), or something an indie shop can remedy with chamfering/anti-squeal shims?

3. Warranty vs. Independent Shop: Did you opt for an extended warranty, or did you stick to a solid indie specialist and keep a maintenance reserve fund?

4. Pre-expiry inspection: Is booking an independent pre-expiry inspection worth it to catch anything Porsche will still cover under warranty before November?

Due to an unfortunate issue with my other car, my father in law graciously gave me his 2015 Macan S. I don't know the complete specs of the car, but it only has 16k miles on it.

Based on everything i've read, i'm expecting there to be issues later on(transfer case, timing cover, etc). So far, I haven't noticed anything. It basically feels like a brand new car. Will take any advice if there's anything I should watch out for. However, with such low mileage and if i continue regular maintenance, I hope I can drive it for at least a few years. Excited to be driving it.

Hey everyone. I just bought a 2018 Porsche Macan base with 115,000 miles on it. It is my first Porsche, and I am wanting to do a full service on it. So far, this is what I have listed to get or do.

- oil change
- pdk fluid
- pdk gear oil
- transfer case fluid
- diff fluid
- spark plugs
- air filter
- tires
- brake fluid

Am I missing anything? Should I replace anything while I’m there?

Also, where are you guys getting the pdk fluid and gear oil?

Hey folks,

Am in between two used Macans. Both are very low in mileage, and are CPO. Seems like great value.

Any notable mechanical changes between the 2018 and 2019 base models? Looking for info on changes in the model update that would address common failures/ maintenance issues etc.

Or if you folks have a guide on this sub I can be directed on to that would also be great.

Did not plan to do PPF on my 2026 chalk Macan and got a rock chip in the first two weeks on the lower front fascia. As it’s very noticeable due to the color, and is highly annoying to me, I am going to get full PPF on the front to avoid any more Before doing so I feel like I should get paint correction on the rock chip. The dealership suggested I have them touch up the rock ship and then do the PPF at a third-party shop. Does this sound like the right plan?
