Would you visit this kind of bar in Baner? Genuinely asking before we open one.

Planning to open a listening bar in Baner/Balewadi — concept is borrowed from Tokyo and is starting to appear in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Wanted to check if Pune actually wants this before we go all in.

**What it is:**
— Small, 40-seat venue. Warm lighting. No TVs.
— Vinyl records playing on a proper turntable through a real sound system
— Japanese cocktails, Japanese beers, and a proper food menu — starters and mains, Japanese-influenced, concise but complete
— The vibe is: you can actually have a conversation without shouting
— No DJ. No dance floor. No bottle service. Just good music, good drinks, good food.

**What it's NOT:**
— Not a club. Not a lounge with EDM at 100db.
— Not a restaurant where drinks are an afterthought.
— Not another rooftop with fairy lights and a Spotify playlist.

Think: you and 3 friends, low light, Miles Davis or City Pop on vinyl, a Yuzu Negroni in hand, a plate of chicken karaage on the table, and no one screaming over the music.

**Quick questions if you have 30 seconds:**

  1. Does this sound like something you'd actually visit, or is it too niche for Pune?
  2. What would you pay per person for a night like this? (drinks + a proper meal)
  3. Is Baner/Balewadi the right location or would you prefer somewhere else?
  4. What would make you a regular vs a one-time visitor?

Not selling anything. Not a survey link. Just a genuine gut-check from someone about to make a big bet on Pune's nightlife. Brutal honesty appreciated.

*(If this sounds like something you've been waiting for in Pune, drop a comment — genuinely helps us understand demand.)*

Keema pav suggestions

Can someone suggest awesome kheema pav spots for breakfast in Pune. I want to eat the green - brown gravy we get in Mumbai and not the red ones that is widely available in Pune.

If not available just suggest some awesome must try spots.

PS i have tried good luck cafe (pathetic kheema) diamond queen in camp (very average), irani cafe (okayish) or maybe the Mumbai ones are just too good

Pani puri packet

Where can i get these type of pani puri packets in pune.seems to be wheat made
Mostly I have seen soji made puri which is slightly in red colour.

Bun Maska - Need recommendations!

I’m on the hunt for the best Bun Maska spots, but I’d love recommendations other than Good Luck Cafe and Irani cafés.

Have you come across any place where the Bun Maska is seriously super tasty in your opinion?

I’m really interested in trying hidden gems and underrated spots that serve an amazing Bun Maska.

Tamil food just doesn’t get any better than this.

Appreciation post
📍The Tanjore Tiffin Room, Balewadi High Street

The first photo tells a lot about the place. They provide a testing dish for all types of curries before you order main course.
And my god.. every curry just f**ks with your test-buds. Each one had a unique test and aroma.

We ordered:
Pepper chicken - 440
Yellow Coconut Curry - 260
Khorma - 360
Malabar parotha - 100
Lemon Rice - 300

Pepper chicken and Lemon rice was nice, everything else was extraordinary.
Service was too good, specially when they explained the all curries in detail. Everyone greeted very well.

Interior is amazing. We went in night and must be looking nice in day time.

Had amazing time, hope they maintain everything!

100 burger & brews :- Katraj

100 burgers and brews:- located exactly besides shree ji hotel , bharti vidyapeeth

I had very high hopes from this place but it went down the hill. We went there for their hype on reels and let me tell u ig it was really not what I expected it to bee.

Ambience:- 6/10 🛋

First off it was pretty much empty and started filling in after sometime. Sitting arrangement was oakish as it wass hot and there was only one stand fan to cool off. Prices were super high 💰 for what they are serving . Also they have staff kamtarta tbvh the service waas kinda slowww .

Itss located in a complex which was again an ick for me. And the charges aree so high for no reason. Its compact to what they show off.

Our bill was about 1100 for 2 💸

We ordered 🍔🍟🍗🥤

2 burgers :- Nashville burger and one classic

2 drinks :- cranberry cooler

2 starters :- Fries and Nashville wings

Burgers 🍔

Comparatively i liked the simple classic onee , it was better than the Nashville

The classic chicken🍔 :- 7/10 👌🏻

It had thigh piece soo it was tasting quite juicy and flavourful

They used only one sauce 🍯 everywhere in their dishes.

Which tasted like the Veeba Chipotle Sauce :- mind you every dish had thisss which wass again disappointing.

And because of this everything pretty much tasted the same no authenticity no uniqueness nothing.

Nashville burger 🍔:- 5/10 🫴🏻

Both the burger and the wings were fried in tooo old oil it seemed as it was giving a diff after taste. I couldn't even finish it because of this. Again theres nothing new in this one too same old sauce and some veggies which weren't even enough.

Wings 🍗 :- 4/10 🫳🏻

Aftee having 1 wing i started feeling a bit nauseatic because of the oldish oil or whatever it wass. The spices weren't authentic. Again the same sauce which was overpowering enough to give the same taste.

Fries 🍟:- 6/10 🤏🏻

Fries were crisp and one point but the sauce 🫩 ughhh !!

The coolers 🧊🍹:- 4/10 🫳🏻

The coolers weren't cooling !! Likee frrr ut had few less ice and not much of tanginess that it should have had. And again nkt worth what they were charging for.

B for burgers

I ordered two burgers:

  1. Nashville fried chicken burger - The bun to patty ratio was very off. Then the bun was not that soft it was breaking into pieces. The fried chicken patty had no taste, it was just oil. The server told me that it would be oily and spicy but all it had was oil no spice. I have had burgers from other gourmet burger places also none of them is this oily. 0/10 (₹345)

  2. Three Mushroom & Three Cheese - Again bun to patty ratio was very off. But still better than the other one. The bun was again falling apart. 6/10 (₹295)

Overall it was a very disappointing experience and felt like a total waste of money.😭🙏🏼

Is it just me who had this bad experience or anyone else had this?

Subakes :- Sadashiv Peth

Subakes :- Sadashiv Peth

Is located oppo to NMV girls school near sp clg rd.

I have been eyeing on this cafe for awhile now. But their prices are pretty high for the area they are located in. As we went in they morning there was no rush !!

Went there for the first time . And ordered what they aren't famous for ig 😬

Ambience:-7/10 🪑

●Music was too loud.

●Sitting was okaish.

●They also had basin and washroom combined which again gave me an ick:)

Food was very mid tbh. 🥲

My frnd ordered this omlette plate and I ordered chicken burger with frappe something .

Burger :- 5/10 🫥

I literally choked while eating this . The patty wass too thick and dry asf . It was flavourless and kinda oily. The bun was good but overall the burger wasnt even saucy and pretty much bland.

Fries were good , salty and crisp :) 🤌🏻

The frappe something :- 4/10 🫳🏻

It was bitter and too watery again tasteless i could only taste chocolaty bitterness and some coffee thats it !! They put tooooo much ice 🧊🧊🧊🧊

Cant rate my frnds dish as i didn't taste it 🫥 but the bread seemed super moist . 🥖

I would again give it a try for their other dishes. But thru this i think I have got an idea of how their dishes will bee . But as they are famous for their pizzas 🍕 imma try again ..

Sunday brunch at July 7 exceeded every expection!

Visited July 7(Pimple Nilakh, Vishal Nagar) for Sunday brunch recently and honestly came away really impressed. The place was absolutely buzzing with people, which usually makes restaurants feel chaotic, but somehow the ambiance still felt warm, relaxed, and enjoyable. It had that perfect cozy yet lively vibe for a lazy afternoon brunch.

The food was the real highlight though. We started with the chicken dimsums and they were spot on, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Green House California sushi was surprisingly fresh and balanced really well without feeling too heavy. One dish that genuinely stood out was the hummus with green chilli thecha and pita bread. Such an interesting fusion combination and it worked brilliantly creamy, spicy, and addictive at the same time.

We also tried the Besto Pesto and that was equally delicious. Honestly, there wasn’t a single disappointing dish on the table.

What I liked most was that despite the Sunday crowd and waiting rush, the overall experience never felt stressful. Good service, beautiful ambiance, and consistently great food. Definitely feels like one of those places you’d keep coming back to for brunches or relaxed catch ups.

Where can I find authentic South Indian food in Pune?

Pune folks, need your help finding a great dosa spot in the city.

Whether it's a masala dosa or ghee roast dosa or something more creative — I'm open to it all.

Just tired of settling for average when I know Pune has some gems out there.

Drop your best recommendations.

Balsam, NIBM

I thought of visiting Balsam, NIBM, it was empty as it was a weekday and I judged the cafe that its just another owner with throw the money for ambience, give average food kinda cafe but the food is sooo good.

Ample seating space with WiFi available so you can work from here

Outdoor as well as indoor seating is available.

We tried

Peruvian Style Chicken with Green Sauce (10/10) very filling and tasty Rs.480

Berry Matcha Latte (Good) Rs.320

Veg Japanese Gyoza (I'm not much a fan but my friend likey) Rs.320

Cafe PNQ, Karvenagar

We visited PNQ for their summer special drink and was amazed by their Hapus Cream Matcha (Alphonso Cream Matcha)

Must try their drinks this summer as they are limited only for the summer 🌞

It was a Sunday, not much crowded, they have outdoor seating and indoor as well. Due to summers the indoor space was full but I think you can work from here.

Their service is a bit slow but they are mostly students working but very sweet and attentive.

We also loved their Sandwich (don't remember which one we got) but it was tasty as well.

Sorry for not remembering the prices but the total was around Rs.750

Miyya kebab Food Was Fine, The Waste Was Shocking

What in the wasteland is this place?????? A plastic container for every single order. Even the spoons and plates were disposable. I was genuinely shook by the amount of waste they must be generating every hour. For the prices they charge, they can absolutely afford reusable plates, cutlery, and staff to wash them.

We ordered the Changezi Chicken, Angara Chicken Shawarma, Dynamic Tangdi, Zaatar Naan, and Hummus.

•	Changezi Chicken — good enough that we ordered it twice

•	Angara Chicken Shawarma — good, would recommend

•	Zaatar Naan & Hummus — disappointing; the hummus lacked flavour and honestly tasted more like besan

•	Dynamic Tangdi — bad, had a weird cardboard-like aftertaste

Our bill came to ₹2098 for 5 food items, 1 Diet Coke, 2 Sprites, and 1 water bottle, which felt unnecessarily expensive for the overall experience.

Overall, very overrated.
