Weekend Solo Ride

This was my first solo ride in my car to the western ghats.

I usually like to plan my travel but this was a spontanious drive to the Pabe ghat view point which was just 35 Km. On the way i came accross a sign board of Madhe ghat waterfall and when i checked it was another 32 km ride

Intrestingly Google Maps was showing the road as closed. Naturally, I wanted to know why.

So, without really planning for it, I thought of extending my trip to Madhe Ghat. If everything went well, I would visit the waterfall.

And somehow it was destined to happen, two policemens who were manning the exact checkpost , asked me for a ride upto the point where the road was collapsed due to landslide, and they told me that they would allow me to pass if i know how to drive the car through that inundated spot as it was a bit risky.

And when i reached the spot and saw it myself, It was indeed very risky.

The road was muddy, steep, and suddenly inclined. It was the kind of stretch where you needed a car with a good engine and good tyres. I saw a WagonR attempt it right in front of my eyes, only to start sliding backwards.

I got scared. But at the same time, there was a sudden adrenaline rush. Something inside me wanted to try it. One Creta car got stuck there as well, but eventually managed to make it through.

After discussing it with the other drivers who were waiting there, I finally decided to go ahead.

I reversed my car a little to get the right grip and some momentum. And then, in the next moment, I hit the accelerator. My car roared. For the first time, I felt the incredible power and torque of the car. It climbed that muddy, inclined stretch smoothly, without any external help.

It was very exciting moment. Everyone who were there thanked eachother for help and I drove towards the waterfall.

The waterfall was an added adventure. The place was all foggy without any visibility and i was alone trying to find my way following the sound of the rushing water

Finally after descending the beautiful stairs, I saw the mesmerising waterfall, roaring and splashing its water everywhere.

It was a beautiful view but momentary - just like everything else in our life.

Daily Pune Scene

This is a daily traffic scene in Pune. Be it weekend or weekday. It used to be normal couple of years back but now the urge of going out in the city roaming and enjoying the nightlife fades when i see the map and ETA. What is your opinion and how are you guys coping?

Road Trip Suggestions

Hello everyone. I am planning to do a car roadtrip preferably solo after august when the monsoon starts retreating. I will be travelling from Pune to Kanyakumari on the national highway covering the western coastline. Goa, Karnataka,Kerala and TN.

If someone has been on a road trip previously please suggest some tips and ideas for travel. I will be staying mostly at hostel and doing local activities on the way.

Looking forward to any suggestions.
