Having fun getting back into grafting with some of the seedlings I grew the last batch

I was moving my plants to garage for winter, from my basement and noticed this off coloring at the base. I had several other cactus in the tent and nothing else shows anything like this. This is a graft stock, for a lophophora, if that matters. Any Ideas?

I just got into cactus during this growing season and now i am looking into how I’m going to over winter my collection. I live in an apartment so i don’t have a way to put them into dormancy or else thats what id do.
Would either of these be good to start with or do you guys have any recommendations.

This is a Fahhims Collawasi x Juicy(ScopxTPM vari), same seed batch as the second pic but absolutely no signs of monstrose(got 2-3 grafts going), the only vari I've ever gotten from seed. I understand the basics I think, areoles with both yellow and green are what you want but just wondering if theres anything else I should do?
