It’s called Twingobay, and the glass panel covers 0.7 square metres of the roof, with rounded contours designed specifically around the shape of the new Twingo E-Tech electric.

Renault says the glass blocks 99.9% of UV rays and uses a multi-layer construction designed to manage heat without needing a conventional sunblind.

There’s also a playful detail around the edge of the glass: Renault has integrated a “Twingo graphic alphabet”, with shapes inspired by elements of the car’s design.

Mechanically, nothing changes.

The Twingo E-Tech electric still uses:

• 60 kW / 82 hp
• 27.5 kWh LFP battery
• up to 263 km WLTP
• 12.2 kWh/100 km claimed consumption
• AmpR Small platform

The new Twingo starts from €19,490 in France before incentives, although the panoramic roof is not included in that base price and Renault hasn’t revealed how much the Twingobay option will cost yet.

There are still some unanswered questions too: Renault hasn’t said how much extra weight the glass adds, whether it affects range, or what replacement costs might look like if the roof ever gets damaged.

Still, on a tiny city EV, a large glass roof could make the cabin feel considerably bigger.

Would you pay extra for this on a €20k city EV, or is a panoramic roof completely unnecessary on a car like the Twingo?

Unfortunately none are on the same scale.

Placed a new timing belt and water pump on my Twingo in my driveway these past 2 days.

As someone without any real automotive experience i gotta say, it was not super hard in the end. Basic tools and a lot of googling and you're good to go.

The option to do this stuff myself was one of the big reasons for me to get a Twingo and i managed, what i assume to be one of the more difficult tasks, without blowing up the engine.

Would recommend for people who wanna get into working on cars without taking big risks on expensive sensitive stuff.

Now i can drive safely without worrying that the belt will snap and as a bonus a lot of the rattling in my interior seems to have vanished.

I got a chance to look at the engine mount and despite it looking old, it did not seem worn or cracked.

So maybe a little tightening was all it needed.

Guys ,is this supposed to be wet?😅

Hi, me and my brother have a 2001 1.0 8v D7D, would it be too much os a hassle to install one of these?

I bought a twingo rs from 2009 a few months back. Ever since buying it the car makes a rattle sound. I told the garage one day 1 of owning it. They said : its the rear brakes.

Now my brakes are freshly replaced with track brakes as i’m going to use it as a track / daily car.

The sound is still there after replacing all brakes.

So the sound goed away when pressing in the clutch or when putting it out of gear when still rolling.

I recorder the sounds.

I hope someone can help me :)
