New to this sub, thought I’d share.

New to this sub, thought I’d share.
I haven't had the opportunity to read or buy it rn due to buying the DC finest and the 84 New Gods reedition, but I'm so excited, gonna buy it when I can
New Gods x Undertale, do y'all think the souls fits?
What do you guys think about this theory?
I found it quite interesting.

Perpetua is actually a creation of Darkseid.
Ram Vs briliant run hooked me completely so i am really happy i got this. The Two hardcovers also include 2 of Kirbys early DC issues
Kingpin didn’t have any thematic or storyline connection to Peter Parker compared to Jack Kirby political point between Darkseid and Orion and Mister o.
Daredevil and Kingpin fit better as a thematic pair as enemies .
Kingpin was a generic crime boss that makes more sense fighting a lawyer superheros
While the New Gods was making political points
Hi guys, I want to do a New dynamic, ask y'all different Fourth World adaptations, gonna describe my opinion in general of the adaptations and then say which one is my favorite, y'all can do the same or just say your fav adaptation, It's in your decission
-ZSJL: We start with a mixed feelings adaptation, I loved how Darkseid looks and the granite-faced dictator is great adapted, still, I don't like monster Desaad, just miss the point of the character and the same with Granny, they went with SteppenWolf with a more New52 style than Kirby's and I hate that, New 52 design is just too generic and boring and I prefer the traditional weird Hunter of Kirby, then in story in general, I like the idea of adapting Rock of Ages as it is my fav JLA/Darkseid story, but ignoring all of New Genesis, being non-existence, deleting Orion and HighFather; man what a mess, turning the Mother Box into Mcguffins was horrible, at the end, I didn't like it.
-TTGO!: I added this because I am a big fan of Weird Al Yankovic lmao, loved his version of Darkseid, was extremely funny and charismatic, this isn't supposed to be taken seriously and I don't mind that, it's fine, probably some of the most fun episodes of this series.
-Timmverse: This starts amazing, the Apokolips Now! Chapters are... A BEAUTIFUL HOMAGE TO JACK KIRBY, IT SHOWS AN AMAZING DARKSEID AND THE FOURTH WORLD AS A WHOLE, LOVED IT, then there are the legacy chapters, they adapt LEGENDS and they're really fun, not amazing but really funny to watch, I loved the end with "I am many things Kal-El, but for my people, I'm a God", then there is Twilight, here start the mixed feelings, I like it, loved the inclusion of Forager but absolutely hated how it just discards Orion, the Oberon/Scott chapters are AMAZING, and so charming, then Darkseid turns even more Superman centered and hated that, at the end this adaptation ended up having bad consequences, it caused Orion to be sidelined and the New Gods being seen just as "The Superman supporting cast", it started this "Darkseid as a Superman villain" thing, and even if I enjoyed it, this adaptation ended up damaging New Gods image in mainstream media.
-Lego DC: Lego DC Supervillains is my fav DC game, and it's because of Apokolips, the Orion sidequests are funny; and loved how he calls HighFather "His real father" and says he's lovely, then both Barda and Scott Sidequests are fun and absolutely love those references, in the main story the characters are amazing, I always wanted to see Granny in Themyscira and this game did that, it was really fun with Virman, then Kalibak in a Dinosaur is ABSOLUTELY PEAK!!, WONDERFUL, and then the Final part with Desaad and Darkseid are PEAK, DELIGHTFUL VERSION, the post game in Apokolips is funny too, really loved how it adapts Grail, the Furies, Mantis and specially KANTO, I LOVED THE REFERENCES TO THE SIMONSON BACK UPS AND HE'S FULL OF CHARISMA, LOVED ITTTTT, the map is wonderful and full of references too, this was amazing and def a fun experience.
-Apokolips War: This movie is just not worthy, the New 52 New Gods aren't good and this movie adapts those, it feels uninspired and boring.
-Superfriends: This has Kirby hands in it and it's funny, a children version of Apokolips that's extremely charming and lovely, actually liked it really much
-Brave and the Bold: As someone who loves the Jli, I LOVED THIS EPISODE, It was fun and charming as the whole series, I love Batman Brave and the Bold, I wish it had Scott in this JLI too, Darkseid looks great and loved this.
-Young Justice: This is really bittersweet, I like how they added the Forever People and made them important, as it's weird to see them in important roles, while I hate this literal bug version of Forager ignoring that his point is being a God between bugs, then Lightray and Orion are fine, I do like autistic Orion, most of the critiques I've heard are saying that Orion's evil nature comes from Apokolips, something that is fake and that he's not evil, being a big plot point in Hunger Dogs as his anger issues are hereditary from his mother, at the end, this is a bad adaptation and really bittersweet.
-Harley Quinn: This series is bad as a whole, thid chapter is just fine and fun for a 4/10 series that I don't really like.
-Justice League Action: I loved this version of Scott and Barda's relationship, I love how extravagant is Scott (I hate the Tom King era because a big plot point is that, even being raised in Apokolips, Scott is a full of love and extravagant New God), this series is fine and really fun.
So at the end, my fav adaptation is...
Lego DC Supervillains, look, I would've loved if it had New Genesis, but for what it is, it's really great, a fun story, great adaptations and a map full of references of the Fourth World, this was a great experience and really fun.
What do you think?, which one is your favorite?
So Simone here is the daughter of the Young Justice versions of Orion and Raquel/Rocket. Her hero name is Orionsdottir because people kept referring to her Orion’s daughter and not as her name is she claimed it as a title.
For me it's John Constantine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember any of the New Gods really interact with someone who is at best an absolute POS and I feel John would bounce pretty well with the other gods.
Also, John as interact led with powers way above his weight class and I feel both the conman and powerful wizards versions of the character would work really well (but personally I would choose the more Vertigo oriented characterization).
DC has straight up said that KO Darkseid is the strongest villain in all of DC. This version of Darkseid created the Absolute Universe which is insane if you really about about it. He’s basically Anti God in comic books. Orion was originally created to be the one to oppose and prevail over Darkseid to fulfill the prophecy but it seems like that role has been shifted towards Superman since Superman is the the ultimate parallel to Darkseid. Not only that but Orion doesn’t have many feats nowadays. I’m not even sure if he can beat Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Raven, Zatanna, Doctor Fate, Aquaman, Shazam, or Martian Manhunter in a fight let alone Superman or Darkseid who are both way stronger than all of those heroes. DC pretty much stated that Superman is the pure embodiment of all hope in the DC universe and narratively he’s the only superhero strong enough to defeat Darkseid in a fight. Do you think Orion should get a whole retcon for his character since his whole ‘’Strong enough to kill Darkseid’’ has been abandoned for decades?
Look, I don't really like what I've heard of this series so far, I've heard that it'll be a 1:1 of the original series and that's questionable..., I had a lil' of hope of the series changing most aspects and just using the depression idea, but it seems like they're going with a 1:1 adaptation and I... Absolutely hate that, in a 1:1 adaptation we lose characters like Highfather, Oberon, The Forever People and Forager, while Orion too, all of them are dead or die during the story, while if they're still going with the fake World ending, it doesn't have sense for this universe, the point of the Original book was being confusing about the ending, that doesn't work for the DCU, the idea of the "Scott never escapes of this world" can't work in the DCU, and aside of all those things, I still hate the idea of THIS story being the introduction of the New Gods in the DCU, it has a lot of references to lore (Like the references to DOTNG) sometimes it's extremely wrong in lore (Like the pact), still, I have low hopes for this series
It’s crazy how many DC fans still think he’s a Justice League and Superman villain while also denying Orion and the rest of the New Gods. Even Thanos who’s apart of the Kree and Eternals in Marvel, both of these groups are allowed to operate even without Thanos in the Marvel universe.
