Scott Free and Orion: Brotherly Relationship

Scott Free and Orion: Brotherly Relationship

This is technically a part 2 to my other post, but that's beside the point. Whenever I heard of these two, I always thought that while they were the sons (well, blood son and adopted son) of Highfather, they're technically that of cousins due to the fact that that Orion ais Darkseid's son and Scott is Highfather's, alongside Darkseid and Highfather being brothers. But like I said post before, this was far from the truth.

However, I do feel shellshocked by this fact and feel like it should've been like that.

The reason why is the irony of the two sons, one of Darkseid and one raised by Darkseid both defy their fate and became heroes make sense. And the fact that both their personalities are very contrasting says a lot. Alongside the mythological structure of the New Gods and the Optimus/Megatron similar like beef with Highfather and Darkseid.

But that's just me, what do you guys think? Should they stay adopted brothers, or should they have been Cousins/adopted brothers?

Brothers or just Opps to each other?

Before researching, I originally thought that these two were brothers and Yuga Khan is their father. But after researching further post-52, I realized that was not the case (kind of, correct me kindly in the comments below). I'll get into their children later but after realizing that I felt a bit...lopsided. For one, I feel like them being siblings play into the irony of their legacies and what made their sons. Also, it kind of plays into their rivalry as I saw it like Optimus/Megatron.

But that's just me, what do y'all think? Do you think in the DCU (or in comics in general) should they just be blood brothers (with some obvious changes, they can still keep most of the element of Jack Kirby with just Highfather and Darkseid being siblings) or just people of opposition?

Black P.I fanart

This is something that's been eating at me for a minute. But where the hell is the art/fanart of black Private Detectives. Every time I look it up on Google, it's either AI or...non-existent.

But I'm willing to be proven wrong if anyone or any artist can show me their art of their OC Private Detectives.

Could I get some insight?

My Hot Take with Shazam/ Captain Marvel

😮‍💨 Where do I even start with the Big Red Cheese?

All right this is gonna be a MAJOR hot Take. As someone who loves Billy Batson, I do not like him being Captain Marvel...again, in fact I hate it on a bad day.

I get it, "DC had it first" I don't give a fuck. Shazam flows better, it sounds cooler. Whenever I think of Captain Marvel, I think Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Mar-Vell. When I think of Shazam, I think DC. And it pisses me off that somehow I feel like the ONLY fucking person that likes his Shazam name.

But before people go "🤓 um, acttually Shazam is the name of the wizard" Shazam is a title, Jebediah or Mamaragan is the wizards actual name. It shouldn't be flip floppy or half assed on Billy's name.

If you're gonna be Captain Marvel, fine, solidify it in a solo where it says: "Captain Marvel" or "Shazam" or hell, change his name to Pantheon or something. If not, then this problem will sustain. I knew him as Shazam the longest and they never bother changing it so he's Shazam. Commit or no commit.

The problem is just DC being piss poor with commiting to his name. If he's gonna be called "Captain Marvel" again, the next time he has a solo, the title BETTER BE Captain Marvel if what read, the comic says his name is Captain Marvel or Billy said that's his name. COMMIT TO IT! Vice versa with his name with Shazam. DC just has to commit to the damn name, otherwise we're gonna be stuck with this debacle unless they give him a new name like Pantheon or Champion, anything.

Just hammer it in, commit. Don't be wishy washy, don't be hand wavy, just solidify it. That's my problem with DC. And I hope they fix it.

(I'm sorry if I come off angry, I'm just very frustrated with this topic because I love Shazam and want to read more, but they really are flip floppy on what Billy is supposed to

be.)

Underworld Hound: My Comic Idea (Supernatural + Hellboy + Doctor Strange x by Black Excellence)

(All these photos are placeholders'/Character inspirations for my MC in Underworld Hound and what he would technically where his look would stem from)

I'm Currently making a comic book (I'm a writer, not an artist). Originally, I was planning to make a superhero comic but transitioned to supernatural, occult detective, Urban Fantasy genre.

It's called Underworld Hound. The TLDR is that my MC (who is black), Rashad Rampersad the definition of an introverted "Blerd" (who also l was attacked and killed by demons...or so we thought. He came back to life and was saved by his aunt, who's revealed to be a sorcerer.

It's been revealed that Rashad is a Cambion, a Hybrid between a Demon and a Human. His mother being human and his dad, a demon (parents that were presumed dead). And because of his "awakening", he's now marked as a target and will be hunted by forces who want him dead. With it there's a tale that his aunt told him as a kid of a "being" who is known for being a chaos agent, a Jester whose fate cannot be woven or seen, The Impossible. The Fool from Tarot Cards. Freedom's Idol who follows its own path and does what it wants and how they want. The Trickster, who he's theorized to be.

With the help of his aunt and the resident Djinn he found, Lyra. Rashad goes down the rabbit hole that is the Underworld of mystics, magi (Blanket term for Magical creatures, Cryptids and such), and the occult. Let's hope he survives the wrath of Hell first.

I wrote the first part on Wattpad, the rest is a W.I.P. I'm currently working on the story, the worldbuilding, and the magic system (and plan to post more on that) but this is what I got so far. This is inspired by many sources (From one of my favorite underrated Marvel's magical characters, Brother Voodoo, John Constantine from DC, Doctor Strange, Sorcerer's Apprentice movie, Supernatural, Grimm, Excellence, Shadowman from Valiant Entertainment, Spawn, and Bitter Root from Image Comics, Hellboy, Etc.)

Only problem I have is the Appearance. I know somewhat what my OC is supposed to look like. But due to my drawing skills being piss poor, I can't show what the look is without using AI (which I rather not want to use in my comics)

But this is my comic idea, and I would like to hear your thoughts on the "Comic" in the comments. Because I'll be posting more on this world I'm writing.

Tim Drake Solo Series Idea

I had this story theory idea in mind for Tim Drake's Gray Ghost. With the issues, I want to be like Tim Drake: Robin. To the new issue revealing the new title either being Tim Drake: Gray Ghost or Cardinal (apparently since that's what a good chunk of people want for Tim Drake).

It all starts off with Tim living with his boyfriend, trying to find a job and purpose now that he isn't Robin anymore (and sometimes misses it) leading him to be sometimes be in the dumps, watching The Gray Ghost movies and shows to cope.

To cheer him up, Benard gets him tickets to see first look and BTS action on the new reboot of The Gray Ghost show, The Chronicles of Gray Ghost. The spiritual successor to The Gray Ghost series starring Cevin Konroy (basically a nod to BTAS/TNBA starring the late Kevin Conroy) that's currently filming in Gotham. Once there, disaster happens... someone murdered the Stuntman for the Gray Ghost. Tim decides to throw his hat in the ring (and by request of the Producer who's seen his acrobatic and physical abilities) and decides not only to solve the murder mystery but also becomes the Gray Ghost stuntsman.

I haven't thought out the rest, but eventually all this leads to Tim opening up his Private Detective Agency and keeping the mantle of Gray Ghost (with one of the panels of Bruce visiting and watching The Gray Ghost with Tim as it's his favorite show as a kid).

Also One of the side characters (aside from Benard) would also be Stephanie Brown who meets with Benard and have a awkward meeting with Benard, and having a bit of envy for Benard. Alongside that is Cassandra Cain and Duke Thomas who "significantly" reunited with Tim and decided to be involved.

There's also the fact that Tim isn't going to be in College due to the fact that college is expensive, and he doesn't ask Bruce for money due to respecting the boundaries of Benard not liking Bruce and want to stand on his two feet without relying on him.

If y'all got something better, I'm all ears. But overall what do y'all think?

Absolutely love the 2023 western themed Gamora redesign, a biblical improvement & return to form compared to any other post-2013 design she has had! Sad it did not last long.

That said #7 was decent.

I do Hate #5 on the chart and the last image.

(My Comic Idea) Underworld Hound: Magic System

Now, obviously my comic. Underworld Hound has a magic system (in a literal sense) so I'm about to explain how it works. (Images are used for imaginative effect)

Magic in simple terms is:

"A thought turned into reality, with restrictions."

Magic is the ability to use mana and craft it to your whim, able to use your imagination to create your magic to whatever you shape it as. It requires a high degree of creativity alongside a degree of logical thinking.

It's of a balance. To be very proficient in magic, one of logical and rigid thinking (like intellectuals) have to accept that most things in the magical world are very illogical. They have to embrace that some things can't be explained with numbers and equations, otherwise trying to use magic would end up being for naught. However, if someone is too creative, their magic can be too messy and uncontrolled. With a good concentration and training, mages can be very applicable with their magic.

However, there are limits or "restrictions" that barred magic users from doing either "mind breaking" things or most things that regular magic users can't use. hence the existence of "Mancers".

Mancers are magic users that are only skilled in a specific type of magic. The way magic can be casted or wielded is categorized by these specific types of users:

Elementalist: Mages who specialize in all types of Elemental Magic.

Aeromancer/Air Mages: Mages who specializes in Air Magic.

Electromancer/Lightning Mages: mages who use Lightning/Electricity Magic.

Geomancer: Mages who use Earth Magic. With this, there are specific sub-skills of Geomancy that mystics can learn, separate from Earth Magic.

  • Clay Mages: Mages who controls magical clay for their desired benefits. Some mages keep a cluster of magical clay on them due to the restriction of not being able to create clay from nothing or generate it.

Plantmancer: Mages who are specialists in Nature Magic. By connecting in Mother Nature, they can draw Mana from the Ley Lines of the planet. And in consequence, high ranking sorcerers can learn advanced spells that lets them hear or see almost anything that touches or grazes the Earth.

And obviously when there's magic, there's Magical objects, artifacts, and tools ranging from least powerful to most powerful.

  • Magic Artifacts: As it sounds; objects imbued with mystical energy with powerful effects.
  • Wands: Wands are used as magic regulators to concentrate one's magic power. Basic tools for any starting magician.
  • Staffs: Amplifies one's magic and controls ones' flow through the staff. Each staff has a different effect.
  • Scepters: Like the staffs, but it gives regular folk the power of magic.

This is what I established so far, what are your thoughts and some changes you would add?

Comic Heroes Vs Anime Villains Pt 3: John Constantine

John Constantine. The Laughing Magician. The Chainsmoking Sorcerer who has more enemies than friends. But in despite of his asshat demeanor and ruthless decisions that end with blood on his hands, he does it all for the greater good.

For his opponent, it will be the scourge of Humanity's Evil, the curse who made his MC suffer through the most and have him rethinking morals...The patchface cursed spirit himself, Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen.

I chose him because the main takeaway with John Constantine and his rogues' gallery is that he's facing with pure evil being that done some heinous crimes against humanity, some being regular humans themselves. And make no mistake John isn't no saint, he has made some questionable decisions that ended up with him either sending innocent souls to damnation or putting them six feet in the grave, many atrocities that make you question his soul is of good intentions or as black as the many demons, he's faced.

In this specific lore, Mahito is a Tulpa created by an old sorcerer during the Heian Era, created by Humanity's fear and evil of itself. And throughout the years has spent his time killing and torturing many victims. Then out of a whim, he decides to go to Liverpool and torture people there too (due to a vibe he picked up there), John Constantine start investigating the many gruesome murders, and when looking finds Mahito, who tries to get into John's skin. Throughout their encounters, Mahito starts to grow even more hatred for John as he wants him to suffer but John seems to get back up and conned him multiple times and has promised to make John's life a living hell (which is just another Tuesday for John).

But that's just my thoughts and ideas, what are your ideas and thoughts on this and which anime villains do you think could work against John Constantine?

Comic Heroes Vs Video Game Villains Pt. 2: Guardians of the Galaxy

The Guardians of The Galaxy are known as Marvel's (second) band of space misfits doing whatever they can to protect the Galaxy (while also getting into a bit of trouble along the way).

The enemies I think would work definitely well for the Guardians' Rogues gallery is The space pirate terror himself, Ridley and The Mother Brain from Metroid.

For this particular Canon, Ridley is very much a personal enemy to Peter Quill than he is to the rest of the Guardians.

This particular line up is as the same in the MCU. With the added people of Nebula, Mantis, and Phyla-Vell.

In this Canon that I made (y'all can come up with better ones in the comments): Ridley was part of the Ravagers at one point with a young Quill. He was known to the pirate crew as very bloodthirsty and sadistic, even to their standards. However, a mission gone wrong ended with not only with Ridley betraying the group, killing a few members of The Ravagers that Peter was friends with. But being revealed that Ridley was apart of the group that killed Peter's mother. Peter barely survived his encounter with Ridley and with the help of Yondu and the other Ravagers, they were able to "kill" Ridley. But this event left Peter traumatized. The Mother Brain however was made sort of the same way, except the Chozo weren't the only ones that helped its creation but a collective of Kree scientists. It happened the same way and the Space Pirates invaded, turncoated against them and went evil to "bring order in the universe".

Years later after creating the GOTG, A surviving Kree survivor unknowingly sends a distress beacon that the Guardians intercepted, only to find the guy not only on his deathbed but infected by the metroids. After heading back to Knowhere, Quill finds out that not only Ridley's alive but him and his Space Pirates had struck a deal with the Mother Brain and are working together, making metroids that'll plague the galaxy.

Ridley and Star-Lord's banter and rivalry will be that of Ridley taunting him, ragebaiting him at every second that make Quill's both scared of him and hatred of him to make him act unusual like himself (and more like Rocket personality wise).

But this is what I got so far, what do you guys think?

Upgrade or Downgrade: Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi, The Master of Kung Fu. One of my favorite Marvel Characters currently because of his movie.

But as we know, he was also a subject of MCU Synergy.

And forth so, Do y'all believe Shang-Chi from the MCU Upgraded Marvel Comics Shang-Chi or downgraded him?

Downgrade or Upgrade, Guardians Edition: Mantis

I know very little about Mantis from the comics, so this one for me will be kind of a genuine blank question.

How do y'all feel about the MCU Mantis, and did the MCU Upgrade her or downgrade her?

I do see her being a bit too goofy, but I still like her overall.

Answer and explain the reasoning.

Upgrade or Downgrade: Star-Lord

I'm only asking this because it's been a while long topic that got me brainstorming.

As someone who's lore on Star-Lord is kinda surface level, I been hearing that Quill's character has a... complex arc and that his MCU counterpart is kinda a piss poor version.

And because of Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians getting the spotlight in the MCU, their characters got somewhat reworked for MCU Synergy.

So for Guardians fans. Since the only "better version" of Star-Lord I seen was briefly the one in Ultimate Spider-Man and Square Enix's GOTG, do you think Star-Lord AKA Peter Quill got a Downgrade or a Upgrade?

What happened to the Black Martial Arts Movies?

This has always been on my mind since...well seeing Blood and Bone and Triple Threat.

Aside from B&B, there hasn't been any good black martial arts movies that are either top quality or hyped up on the internet, and that frustrates me.

Hell, MJW is one of the best and well-known martial artist actors and so far, I haven't heard anything from him and Trouble man to me looks subpar and low quality.

Don't get me wrong, I still love The Furious and all that. But it still kinda rubs me the wrong way that recently and currently there aren't any black led martial arts films (with high quality and production) that doesn't feel fresh out a Tubi bargin bin movie.

What do y'all think?
