This one smashed the crawler, full summer time walleye fishing video out on my youtube channel: https://youtu.be/J\_0Rbu17gv4?si=q8XekzfvDdk1kDGW
Caught some good ones on my last trip, here is the fattest one measuring in at 28.75" but weighing 11.44lb, just a crazy build. Here is the full Youtube video of the trip: https://youtu.be/J_0Rbu17gv4
February 1st 2024 10:13PM: We're in a buddy's shack with no scale nor tape measure and suddenly I'm holding this 30+ monster. We measured her with beer cans and got her back down the hole. Can anyone estimate her stats? This was at Solomon's Point, Last Mountain Lake, Saskatchewan. See my comment for the measuring video.
Took the 'yak out to the Van Hook arm of Sakakawea and was finally able to get my limit on some 'eyes. I started out with a crank on one rod and a bottom bouncer on the other, not 10ft from the boat ramp I had a decent sized one hit the crank but lost it at the boat, went back over that same area a few times but couldn't connect and was fighting lines and wind so moved on with the plan to circle around an island and jigging for them when I found a school, but they had other plans.
I landed the 1st on on the worm rig, so I decided to run two, so while I was setting up the second bottom bouncer a 3rd fish hit the one still in the water, but it snapped the rig off so I finished rigging the second pole and just had it in the rod holder, not set to depth by any means and I re rigged the other one, by the time I got the 1st pole back in the water I had eye number 2 on the second rod and eye number 3 hit on the 1st rod while I was bringing number 2 in, once I got the second eye on the stringer I slapped a new worm on it and did the same thing, just kinda let it hang in the water while I delt with the 3rd eye. And same thing the 4th one took as I was landing the 3rd. Thats why you hear me give a big sigh as I honestly didn't think I would be able to land all of them. Then the last one I got was on the last worm in the box, a nice 17". Once I had my limit I tossed out the anchor to work on my jigging technique but I only had plastics and minnows and they definitely did not want any of that, though I did get a few small pike on the plastics.
All in all a great way to end the weekend. I eneded up with a 14, 15, 2 16s and a 17 for my efforts. Tight lines y'all.
Caught this 30-1/2” Waldo on a 930 acre lake in the U.P Michigan.
Released her and noticed a spear mark on right gill plate.
Glad she survived, spearing should be banned.
Tribal Native American’s from Lac Du Flambeau hammer our lake every year.
It really is hard on the fishery, when spawning females are speared in the hundreds.
The harvest limit on my lake is 2 walleyes per fisherman. We release every fish we catch.
Hit 3 man limit in an hour, had to go through some 3-4 foot waves on the way back in😂😂😂
3/8oz weighted Texas rig senko off the bank. Catch and release. Just want to show off because I don’t have friends who fish
And a Crappie for good measure...
29"! Biggest walleye I've ever caught in my life! Caught while casting a spinner bait of all the crazy things
Slow day, only got on this one but i’d say it was well worth it
I bought too many for my fishing trip and decided to try to keep them. I feed them tons: blood worms, earthworms, snails, dead minnows, aquarium pellets etc... they devour it all. They're really cool to watch when they eat and chill out but they have this other habit that ruins everything.
Their favorite thing to do is try to kill each other. Each tries to latch and not get latched. The ultimate goal is to latch your opponent's face, get your lips over theirs and eat their face, then leave them to starve over the course of a week.
I had 75 a few months ago and I'm down to like 25. I'm super bummed out. This video captures a fairly even fight where neither died, but you can clearly see neither walked away unscathed.
Does anyone have any experience with the Ambassadeur line counter or Max Toro DLC? I was looking to pick up two Lexas for flatlining and bottom bouncing, but saw the Abus are on sale right now. I generally like Abu products, but haven’t seen much on their line counters. My only line counter experience is with Daiwa Sealines.
I was fishing over a small bridge today and saw some nice 8-12 inch walleye and was right above them. I threw everything small panfish jigs. Live minnows, dead minnows. Tube jigs. And nothing bit. A few swiped at it but didn’t take. I’ve never caught walleye before but I am experienced. Any tips?
Edit: forgot to mention but I never planned on keeping any. Just catch and release.
Had a decent size pike playing around with my hook then caught this little guy
