First wands

I am making my very first wands for a ren fest outfit and would love thoughts or suggestions on stain/paint color and embellishments or if I should leave them close to as is. The main colors in the outfit are blue and amber if that helps! Thanks for any feedback

The Bleeding Entropy 🩸🥀

Some instruments are shaped not for quiet contemplation, but to hold a volatile decay in check. This piece belongs to the quiet space between stability and ruin—a relic from the exact moment an unnatural force punctured the wood, corrupting the timber from the inside out.

It is an anchor of structural collapse. Inspired by the sharp, geometric work of Myth Impressions, its form carries a jagged, pitted, and fractal reality. Deep, hollowed voids and sharp, vascular channels mark an active, corrupting lattice—bleeding a fiery warmth through the handle before giving way to the corruption that resulted in the blackened blade.

A conduit of raw entropy and fractured symmetry, it stands as a testament to those who command forces that cannot be contained—only directed before they burn away.

New to witchcraft in general. My first 3 wands. :)

Hello! New to all of this. I’ve taken an interest in crafting wands. They are in chronological order of when I made them.

WAND 1 (1.5 weeks ago?)

This wand is primarily for spirit work and baneful magick.

The handle is whitetail buck antler. The main wand wood is from a yew bush, it has a cypress stick embedded into it. The tip is deer femur.

The core is thyme, parsley, rosemary, myrrh, star anise, bone dust, bay leaf, crushed quartz, saffron root, and cypress leaf.

Labradorite and jet are embedded into the wand, the jet is surrounded by crushed crystals. (clear/smoky quartz, blue agate, obsidian)

WAND 2 (Today)

This wand was created for the purpose of being used for love spells and other things of that nature.

The handle is red maple, it goes up to willow, then finally, at the top, is rose bush wood, with a rose stem in the core of the rose bush wood. The very tip is clear quartz.

The core is cinnamon, ginger, clove, rose, aquamarine, saffron seeds, vanilla bean, rose quartz, clear quartz, with lavender + lemon essential oil, and olive oil sprinkled in.

Garnet is embedded into the handle, a rose bud above it. The top of the handle has crushed crystals. (rose quartz, aquamarine, clear quartz, blue agate)

WAND 3 (Today)

This wand will mostly be used for divination.

The handle is elm, with a 20-sided die at the bottom. A hole is drilled into the die and the bottom of the handle, they are connected with a small piece of willow (same with the connection of the handle +
main part of the wand). Crushed amethyst and sodalite mixed with epoxy are used as adhesive. The main wand is ash wood.

Amethyst is embedded into the handle, surrounded by crushed obsidian. At the bottom of the main part of the wand, moonstone is embedded into it. Where the handle and the wand connect, it is covered in quartz, amethyst, sodalite, and obsidian.

The tip is a large piece of amethyst.

The core is star anise, bay leaf, thyme, cloves, saffron seeds, sodalite, amethyst, obsidian, and quartz with some lavender essential oil and olive oil.

This wand was completely manually cut, carved, and sanded (no machinery, just a knife, axe, saw, and sandpaper) except for the final touches and stone cutting.

Each wand is covered in Danish Oil multiple times during the creation. Once when sanding is initially finished, once again when the wood is put together, and finally when it’s entirely complete. Each wand is also wrapped in copper wire.

I really enjoy making these, I spent a lot of time on them. I think they look good for a complete newbie. How are they? Any questions about them? Any advice? I’ve never done woodworking or carpentry of any kind, nor have I ever made anything like this lol. I know how to use the tools though so it wasn’t entirely out of my comfort zone.

Tools used:

Knife, saw, sandpaper.

Dremel 8150, electric circular saw, drill.

Two-part epoxy (black and clear) / super-glue

Stacked leather wand

I’ve had this idea in the back of my head for a while now and I finally had some time to execute it.

This is a stacked leather wand with black vulcanized rubber tips.

I wanted to try to recreate the stacked leather handle of the famous military K-Bar knife. Took me forever to punch out the little leather washers. Stacked over carbon fiber glued with epoxy and compressed as much as I could. Leather was waxed with beeswax and other surface hardeners. The shaft retains a nice grippy feel, excellent balance and a finish that is sure to patina and age over years of service.

Oak Wand with Carved Runes

I built this loosely based off Sirius Blacks wand shape.

My first ever wand

Just found a picture of the first wand I ever made for a friend, 11 years ago.

Made of the finest (cheapest) garden bamboo stake, genuine (fake) leather wrap and the most dazzling (plastic) gem(Rhine)stones.

It's nice being able to look back at where you started 😄

Woodworkers whittled a wand

This started as a random scrap piece of poplar laying around the shop. Every now and then someone would pick it up and whittle on it a little bit and set it back down. This is months of mindless effort. Should we make another? Any criticism or thoughts are welcome. You won’t hurt our feelings.
