Tommy want wingy

Tommy want wingy

Made some Cajun dusted Buffalo wings and also a batch of Korean bbq. Smoked for a bit, then sauced and charred….

Pool time

Baxter is behind the bucket, not inside of it. Love our Yeti products at the poolside.

Stu reads on Danny McBrides new book on Audible

Downloaded McBride’s new book for a long car ride. Among others, Sturgill reads one of the short stories. Give it a Fuk’n listen.

Smoked a pork butt overnight

This is my first Boston butt on my new KJ Classic I.

Rubbed with mustard and a Stubbs bbq rub. 7 ponder. Started it at 9pm last night at 250F. Sprinted with red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar and worschestshire sauce every hour after the fifth hour. Wrapped at 180F because it started to stall after I added a bbq glaze to it. Wrapped in foil and finished the last two hours before resting in my oven. Got kind of excited when I started to pull it,hence no pics of the bark. You can see some of the bark and the nice smoke ring visible in the final product.

First rack of spare ribs

3-2-1 method on a rack of spare ribs. Prepped with mustard and cowboy rub. I forgot to remove the membrane from the backside, oops.

Got the Kamado to 250f and held it there all day. Lump charcoal and a few pieces of applewood for flavor.

Swam in the pool.

At three hour mark I wrapped in foil, placed them meat side down on a bed of red onions and a mix of pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, butter and brown sugar.

Swam some more and had a few pool beers.

Braised for two hours, then at the five hour mark took them off to rest, placed them back on bone side down and sauced with Trader Joe’s bbq sauce. Removed at exactly six hours.

Ate a plate full right next to the pool. They were amazing. Jumped in when I was finished, and cleaned my face off.

Chops and chicken on my new KamadoJoe

Came home from work on Friday afternoon and my wife had just unpacked a Classic I for me. Happy Anniversary!

This was my third cook, and I think I have it figured out now. Had our parents over and cooked chops and chicken breasts. They turned out great. Smoke the chops with a couple of chunks of hickory for a while prior to searing.

Got a KamadoJoe on Friday night….

This was my third cook. Took me a minute to learn it after having used propane (and propane accessories) for the last thirty years.

Bone in pork chops from Trader Joes and some butterflied chicken breasts. Very happy with the two zone cooking.

I stacked the ceramic heat plates to one side for my indirect cooking. I’m guessing there is t an issue with one on top of the other.

Pueblo Baldassi and Chèvre Goatskin Lined Dice Pouches

I’ve been on a dice pouch kick. These will hold nine 16mm dice. I’m a magician, so I have a use for nine dice. Your mileage may vary.

Another Dice Case

This one uses one piece of leather, instead of two. More compact construction and brass snaps instead of a stud.

Playing around with heavy water Buffalo

Ran across this lovely 8-9oz water buffalo at my local Tandy. I absolutley adore how it works for my magician cups.

Help me make sense of this

I have a 24’ 4th gen Tacoma. I want to add coaxial speakers and have the tweeters installed in the spot on the dash where 3.5” speakers currently live. The 6.5” woofer would of course reside in the door.

TacoTunes has this setup that apparently doesn’t require any rewiring, but I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around what’s going on with the crossover.

So apparently they supply a harness that goes into the tweeter signal connector. It looks to have four leads that would then go to the crossover. The signal at the tweeter is a flat signal (I have a FIX 86 flattening out the tuned signal).

One set goes to the input on the crossover. One set goes into the woofer output. You then connect the tweeter to the tweeter output on the crossover.

Apparently the woofer in the door just gets its signal from the factory wiring and connections that already exist.

I’m just not understanding how the crossover is supplying a signal to the woofer. Or is it even? Why are there signal wires going to the woofer output of the crossover?

I can’t make it make sense.

I did install my amp and subwoofer myself using a t harness behind the factory radio. I’m not a total newbie. I just don’t get what’s happening here.

Thanks.

Pueblo Baldassi leather, holds 9 16mm dice. That’s 144mm of dice holding goodness!

For a point of reference, I’m a magician. This is the kind of stuff we carry. Check my other posts here to see my other magic props. Wands, wand slips, cups, wallets…. Most of my leather working hobby is driven by that.
