[FREE TO READ] Gareth Bale: I wish I'd enjoyed the big moments a bit more

If you could do it all again, what is the one thing you would change?

“I probably would have enjoyed the big moments a bit more while I was in them.

“As athletes, you are always thinking about the next game, the next trophy or the next challenge.

”Looking back, I wish I had taken a few more seconds to really appreciate what was happening.“

He lit up the Premier League with Tottenham, then won it all at Real Madrid. Now happily retired, Bale talks injuries, the Champions League and why Wales meant so much to him.

Defending Our Future

Hi everyone!

My name is Grace, and I’m currently completing a Master of Research (MRes) in Environmental Dynamics. My thesis explores the role that football could play in communicating climate change information to the public.

The aim of this research is to understand what actually resonates with football fans and how you would feel about receiving climate-related information through football.

Whether you think football could be a great way to engage people with climate change, or you think it's a terrible idea and football should have nothing to do with it, I genuinely want to hear your opinion. There are no right or wrong answers, every perspective is extremely valuable as the point is to find out what you, the fans, want.

The questionnaire takes around 5 minutes to complete, and your participation would mean a great deal to me.

You can complete the survey here:
https://forms.gle/BC4jj11DkRqJjczp6

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. And if you know anyone who might have an opinion on this topic, I'd really appreciate it if you could share this post with them. I'm hoping to hear from as many football fans as possible!

Thank you so much for your time and support!

The mental crisis for USA v Bosnia

On one hand, the Americans are mighty irritating in the world of football with their “fight and win” and their “cleats” etc but on the other, as a Welsh man? I can’t wish the Bosnians well in this World Cup.

Tonight I feel….i don’t bloody know!

West Texan here

Hello all, greetings from the middle of nowhere (literally nowhere my hometown is about 6-8 hours from any major city) in Texas. I’m not sure about whether this post breaks any rules. However, I had a few questions over the Welsh national team, I wanted to find a UEFA team to support as my second team to follow. I have never been to Wales and don’t have any Welsh heritage. However, when I first started to get into the sport, Wales was the first and my favorite national team I got to play as in FIFA. As beating England in the game was a huge part of me picking your country in manager mode. After all these years, I finally bit the bullet and got a Wales shirt. I will probably be the only person in my city to support your country or know about Wales due to the sport not being super popular here.

With this in mind I wanted to ask if there is anything I could learn or know about the team history. As I have only casually kept up with the Welsh national team and through the video games. Again apologies if this post is against any posting rules.

Edit: Thank you guys for all the comments. I’ll start looking into the past players you mentioned and find books or videos on the history of the Welsh team and the country.

Stadium tips

I'm attending the CCS next week for Penybont vs Santa Coloma.

Should I be looking out for anything in the Stadium? Any advice?

A little moment of history - for the first time, Wales hosted the opening of an age-grade international.

I've screen recorded the opening titles, with "Wales 2026", to mark the moment.

We won't mention the 7:0 drubbing by Spain.

*Men's age grade, we hosted the U19 Women's in 2013.

Sky reporting that Craig Bellamy to Burnley has fallen through

Ironically, they are now looking at Steve Cooper and Rob Edwards. Not sure what's happened, but surely trust has been broken with the fans?

The Bellamy/ Burnley saga

Just a quick thought.

Last month, Bellamy apparently ruled out the Burnley job, talking about his love for Wales.

Now after the role falling through with him, what do you think happened?

Is there a possibility that the Welsh FA asked him to go for it, as they weren't too pleased with the WC qualifier? In other words, if he leaves, the FAW get some money and don't have to sack him with a payout?

Just seems strange the sudden change of heart by Craig.

For what it's worth, I think he is doing a great job and want him to stay.

My humble proposal for a new Wales manager

Clearly Bellamy can't continue after the Burnley fiasco so here's my proposal

Daniel Farke is appointed Wales manager. He doesn't need to quit Leeds or even come to Wales, we simply start running Wales camps from Elland Road. That way most of our best players are comfortable and familiar with their surroundings and we don't need to worry about the politics of where to play games anymore. This will also encourage other players to sign for Leeds, and create a mini-national team in the Premier League.

Questions for Mike Harris of TNS

Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I couldn't find a TNS-specific subreddit. I have Mike Harris as a guest on my podcast later this week.

What questions would you like to hear answered?

Obviously, I'm not going to ask anything overtly negative or rude.
