Portugal vs. Norway in October - Ticket sales

Bom dia,

A Norwegian coming in peace here. I am currently planning making the trip to Cardiff and Porto for our away fixtures against Wales and Portugal in October.

As Norway's away ticket allocation is minuscule, I might be looking to buy a ticket from Portugal's federation as a 'neutral'.

Do you know when the tickets will be made available?
Will the tickets be sold very quickly before general sale, or do I have a chance?

In Wales they seem relaxed with opposing teams' fans watching from the main stand. Will I be allowed into the stadium easily, or will they ID check if I am not Portuguese etc.?

And if someone here has early access to tickets, can I buy a ticket from you? :)

Obrigada!

Wales - Norway in October (Ticket sales)

Good evening r/WelshFootball

A Norwegian coming in peace. Our beautiful nations are facing each other in start-October in Nations League, and I'm thinking of revisiting your country for the first time since wandering around Colwyn Bay and Llandudno almost ten years ago.

I expect Norway's away allocation will go quickly, even though I am a 'gold member' of their supporter's club.

So my plan B currently is to get hold of a ticket through Welsh' site and enjoy the match as a pseudo-neutral.

Is this match likely to sell out quickly?
Will my ID be checked at the stadium? I expect my Norwegian passport might be difficult to explain away if checked.

And if anyone here will get early access to tickets but can't go themselves (or want company from a Norwegian), are you able to buy a ticket from me?

Peace out!

Bortekampene mot Wales & Portugal - Billettsalg

Hei r/NorskFotball

152kr - etthundre og femti-to kroner! 😱

Alkoholisert førsteverdensproblem-rant over.

Hei r/norske

Jeg kom først over saken i VG.

SaaS Sales jobs - is my experience unique, or the industry norm?

r/SaaS,

I'm reflecting over my turbulent SaaS career as a BDM, and wanted to hear thoughts of other people in the industry.

I have been a Business Development Manager (mostly Ecommerce) for almost a decade. In Europe, not US where I can imagine corporate culture in and out of SaaS is quite different overall.

My previous employers before joining the SaaS world was quite positive:
Sales is meant to be consultative, based on honest communication and long-term thinking both for employer and client.
We are - first and foremost - people, not just numbers or robots.
Monthly chats are as much about 'how are you doing' as a human, not just how the pipeline is lining up. If you have a bad month or quarter, that's just normal.

The sales team was a team - collaborative, social and full of jokes.

My experience is that I'd never been worried about my job security, I could have honest chats with my managers who actually care about the people they were managing.

I then started in this SaaS company. On paper quite successful, on a growth journey with recent funding from private equity firm. In hindsight, I think maybe this is a crucial point.

Already in my first week, my spider senses were tingling and I felt something was off.
The various BDMs barely spoke to each other. No one greeted me in a positive way, or seemed to have any interest in getting to know me or include me in anything. They saw each other not as buddies or team mates, but competitors also trying to outswim the shark.

The company hired foreigners for the more administrative / non-glamorous jobs. They had limited health insurance, paid leave and seriously garbage salaries. The company had no qualms letting them go, leaving them in a foreign country with no safety net or anything.

Generally, the company was a revolving door. Ridiculous churn. Hire-and-fire.

New sales hires were given similar budget as the senior salespeople, but were given few opportunities. All the high-potential leads and opportunities went to the same three people.

Focus was not on creating value, but 'take the money and run'. If it was a bad product-to-client match that was Customer Success' future issue, for us it was all about boosting the monthly newbizz number on the screen.

Of course, client churn was well into the double-digits.

The sales department trash talked the Customer Success department, and vice versa. Most people were on survival mode.

I have never felt so out of place ever in my life - in or outside of an office.

As I was in the middle of this, reaching maybe 30-40% of my unrealistic €50k ARR monthly target with dummy leads, I started losing my appetite. I went to bed anxious about having to the same thing again tomorrow and the day after. I fantasised about not waking up next morning, and when I did I caught myself thinking 'f*ck'.

Long story short: I was let go on the last day of my probation, but was given the chance to work through the notice period (30 days) - if I reached my budget maybe I could stay.

Having no choice, I worked day, evening, night, the weekend in what was the worst month and period of my life. Miraculously I actually pulled it off, and was allowed to stay. But at what cost?

After I pulled off the greatest comeback of my life, I felt like a wreck. The last period had made me lose 15-20 kilos, I couldn't recognise myself physically or emotionally.

When returning to work and trying to re-create the success, my manager never asked my how I was doing. If I was okay after the period I'd been through. Only thing communicated to me, was the expectation that I must hit the same ARR every month.

Two months later, I went on a legitimate sick leave (first and hopefully last time in my life). Two weeks into this sick leave I was finally let go, to my great relief. It was the best feeling ever.

Now I'm back in my old, non-SaaS industry, and I'm healthy again. My managers are empathetic, my colleagues collaborative and warm, and I regained balance in my nervous system.

But the question I can't escape is: Is my previous employer simply the norm within SaaS, or within private equity-backed companies?

Or even worse: Is this just the norm within employers today, and I have just been lucky before and since?

Anyone here with similar experiences, or managers / owners of SaaS companies with similar culture?

Akkurat Som forventet.

Re-visiting Vilnius 16-21st July. Any tips for cultural events or things to do?

Good evening Vilnians,

Next week I am returning to your cute capital for a weekend getaway with an old friend. I have fond memories of Vilnius and Lithuanian people:

Apart from having a conversion rate of 100% with Lithuanian women (5 dates, 5 conversions), I remember vividly your incredible Champagne bar (Champagneria?) and a nearby nightclub designed like an apartment with bed, wardrobe, a bathtub in the basement and one hell of a DJ performance on the second floor 🔉

Shoutout to the amazing E who joined me back to my hotel after that DJ set five years ago. I hope all your career dreams came true 🇱🇹

I suppose my questions are simple: Anything great happening in town these dates, 16th to 21st?
I am considering going to the Zalgiris Conference League qualifying match (European football is fun), but keen to hear any big cultural event or parties going on.

Bonus if said parties or cultural events are popular amongst beautiful, young Lithuanian women! Why not make it 6/6 or 7/7 right? 🙋‍♂️

Lastly, as a foodie: Any local with a quick review of either Dziaugsmas, Augustin, Le Travi or El Gato Negro? 😋

Hvor skal du se Norge vs. England? (Oslo)

Hei r/NorskFotball,

The Bear: It suffers from vicious plot loops, repetitive kitchen chaos and no character development - what am I as an ex-Bear lover missing?

The Bear:

I really liked (even loved?) The Bear when it was first released. A breath of fresh air, a truly interesting main characer with a lot of psychological baggage. Some really good acting. It was in a period I was starting to get into fine dining as well, so it was right up my alley.

I was somewhat preaching about The Bear to colleagues, friends, family members. Not it was the GOAT of television, but that it was unique and excellently made.

My own hype has died down in the past few seasons.

I just started watching the final season, and four episodes down I can't escape one feeling: Haven't I seen this before? Isn't this just rinse and repeat?

The plot feels the same: Complete survival mode, economic crisis, screaming in the kitchen. Absolutely no 'red thread' in terms of menu and identify of the restaurant.

Carmen and Sydney can't communicate to each other - in fact, often I feel like the script was written by two aliens who have never had any interaction with humans ever.

I get that the chaotic kitchen is - I guess - a metaphor for Carmen's inner self, how is he also mentally stuck in a vicious loop of chaos and lack of stability.

This was interesting for a season or two, but five?

Whenever some actual character development is teased, or any plot development outside of the kitchen is teased, it quickly disappears for another three full episodes of repetitive kitchen disasters.

The music in these four episodes of season 5 has been the same erratic stuff, feels like I'm in some TikTok video trying to give me cheap dopamine or some adrenaline rush.

Seems to me like the creators of The Bear only had 1-2 seasons in mind, and haven't managed to tell any story for the past few seasons.

But I want to love this show like I once did. What am I missing? What are the actual three-dimensional aspects, plot- and character development aspects of this show that I'm not grasping?

Crazy moment as a Norwegian. Feel free to use any other version of Munch's Scream, and also any other picture of Nyland reacting on his legendary penalty save.
