Carney and Buccini falsely blaming Philadelphia for Wilmington's homeless issues rather than stepping up and taking responsibility.
If Wilmington put a fraction of the public funds it has given to Buccini/Pollin over the years towards more effective means of encouraging more affordable housing, it would go a long way to reducing homelessness in the city.
What’s up everyone,
Just relocated to Wilmington from Tampa after finishing up my degree at USF to work in finance/banking here. Knowing absolutely no one in the area, I’m trying to get plugged into the local community.
I'm looking for people who are down for:
Watching Sports: Catching F1 races or soccer matches at local sports bars, especially with the World Cup kicking off soon.
Playing Sports: Jumping into some pickleball or table tennis sessions near Christiana or Newark.
Chill Nights: Grabbing drinks, watching movies, or talking anime.
If any of that sounds like your vibe, drop a comment or shoot me a DM. Let's hang out!
Oh my.
Just wanted to share in case this helps any local families — the
Institute for Community Mental Health at UD is now offering comprehensive autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments.
They recently expanded services and have openings over the summer while students are out of school. ASD eval waitlists are usually really long (often a year or more), but wait times could be as low as a few weeks during the summer. Come fall, they'll likely increase again to around 6+ months.
They accept Medicare, Medicaid, and several private insurance plans, and they also have self-pay options plus need-based financial assistance.
Figured it was worth sharing since long waitlists can be such a huge barrier for families trying to get answers/support.

Hi everyone! I have a spare ticket to see Built to Spill in Wilmington at The Queen on 6/5, if anyone is interested. My friend is no longer able to make it and I do not want the ticket to go to waste.
Free to the first person that messages me and isn't a newer user/convinces me they are actually a fan since we have to sit together.. 🙂

Hi! I’m new to the area and am (desperately) looking for friends. My boyfriend and I moved here from Texas last summer, and due to my work schedule and commute, it has been so so so hard to make friends. However, I just started a new job and have a lot more free time.
Here are some things about me:
- My name is Liz, I’m 27, and my pronouns are she/her
- I live in Claymont/North Wilmington
- I’m a high school choir director
- I love to read, play video games (mainly rpgs; my favorite game is probably final fantasy xiv or bg3), and travel!
- I have a cat named Stella
- I’m extremely left leaning and am looking to make friends with others who are the same :)
The Sleep and Circadian Health Research Program at the University of Delaware (Newark, DE) is recruiting participants for a research study about how the timing of exercise affects the 24-hour blood pressure response to exercise. Please see more information about the study on the attached flyer. If you are interested, please fill out the interest survey using this link.
This research study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Delaware Institutional Review Board (IRB#2324519).
Spotted this while enjoying the nice day out.
Hi all! I know this is probably a long shot but does anyone happened to have an extra ticket to the May 31st commencement at 1 pm?
They only issued four per graduate and I really want both of my sisters to be able to go. Thank you in advance!
What’s your average utility bill look like per month?
How much availability would there be for Uber/Lyft late at night (around 1:30am) on a Saturday night/Sunday morning?
(Context: I'm travelling from Philly to Newark late at night on a Saturday. I can take a late (1:50am) FlixBus that stops in Newark or an earlier (12:44am) Greyhound which stops only in Wilmington and not in Newark, or take public transit to the airport and Uber from there (done this before, know Uber will be available but pricey). Trying to decide what the best option would be!)
911 operator told me to call someone else, who would care about this and do an investigation? The Mall and hotel might have security cameras
Looks like phone lines, not power line.
It’s about 4.5 poles of distance.
I was walking my dog when I saw it.
Howdy all,
I have some very blunted knives and I'd like to get them sharpened. They are chefs knives, nothing crazy. I called my local ACE and they said they don't do it themselves anymore, but they recommended a guy for $200/knife. I'm dumb, but not that dumb.
I'm happy to drive anywhere in NCC. Thanks!
