Car in the sun 20c for 1 hour, quite hot inside.
Is my tint not Ceramic? Dashboard is hot (only 70% on the windshield)
It's supposed to be ceramic, but I feel the heat through the windshield.

Its hard to get a good picture. But there is a haze on a couple of spots on Air80 that's about 3 weeks old. It disappears if i spray liquid on it. But comes back when it dries. Its really only visible in low morning sun. I know it from something they did while applying it because it has smear marks. So its not something in the tint. Any recommendations on a product i can try without damage?
Is there anything I can apply to it just to ensure it doesn't expand or get worse? I really don't care too much since it's out of my sight (rear window of a van on driver's side) but I care enough that I don't want it to get worse. I was thinking a dab of clear nail polish but maybe there's something better I can apply to that tiny 1mm nick. The nick is roughly in the center area of that window. The tint is 4 months old. Xpel XR Plus.
I mean black absorbs heat so hotter right? But tint blocks sun so cooler right?
Hey guys, I have a car with 35% windshield tint that is black and applied on the inside professionally. I wanted to go with a chameleon bluish purple window tint so I was wondering if I can apply the chameleon tint on the outside and keep the black tint on the inside? I want to put it on the outside because if I do mess up applying the chameleon tint on the inside and I go to take it off, I don’t want to risk damaging the black tint with it. This will be my first time tinting a windshield. I’m new to all this so please bear with me if this is an obvious/stupid question. Thanks !
Hi folks
Looking for some expert advice to reduce reflection and improve visibility through the glass so people can see the inside of this storefront
Tried a film already that didn't do much if anything at all...
Hi lads, quick question:
I already have a sunstrip installed, but now I wish to tint the rest of the windshield. I however prefer to keep the sunstrip since it's a darker tint which is great for blocking the lowhanging sun. Can I start the regular tint at the end of the sunstrip? Should I tint over the sunstrip? Should I remove the sunstrip, install the full window tint and then a new sunstrip? So many options :')
Ceramic all around, love the way it turned out.
I did 20% on all side windows, 55% on sunroof and full back glass, and 45% windshield. Honestly couldn’t be happier! The shop did a phenomenal job making the vehicle uniform. In certain lighting/shade it comes off darker too. I went with Xpel XR Prime Black. Already noticing a huge difference from the heat here in FL.
I have legal window tint on my Nissan Versa, and I like it, but it still isn’t dark enough for my personal preference. Because I use my car for work, I can’t legally go any darker. I really don’t like people being able to see inside my car while I’m driving, so I’ve been trying to think outside the box for ways to add more privacy.
I know there are removable blackout curtains for car windows, but I’m curious about other options. How well do removable cling-on window tints actually work? Are they easy to put on and remove if I wanted to take them off at night for better visibility, or remove them on weekends when I’m not working? Also, would something like removable plexiglass window inserts even be a realistic option, or would that create more problems than it’s worth?
Just trying to think creatively and see if anyone has found a good solution.
It’s getting hotter and I want 5% in the back but don’t wanna smash it
I want to get my lexus rx350h 2026, tinted. This is what I’ve been quoted. Is it too high, reasonable, or good deal? (I am in bay area).
Nearly one year with my 2022 CRV - recently got 20% tint all around and super happy with it! Cheers
For context, I got two Window tint citations from a state trooper. I called the courthouse to get the costs and she told me $300 per ticket.
The first ticket I got a year ago was $189 total, now these two…I’m being charged 3x my initial cost. Anyone know why it’s so high this time? What are my realistic options here?
The clerk mentioned even if I remove the tint and plead not guilty or non contest, I’ll still have to pay something 🙄
Those of you that have experienced something similar, what did you do?
Keep it respectful please.
I’ve asked around my area and it seems like these 2 are the most affordable options. The cheapest quote I got was for the Xenith and for roughly $100 more I could get IRX all around with AIR80 on windshield. Not sure which one to go with. I mostly care about heat rejection/uv more than privacy
I haven’t read that much about Xenith around here, anybody have it or recommend it?
Hey everyone, I’m thinking about getting my car windows tinted and Insta Tints keeps popping up in ads/search. But when I searched online, I also saw some mixed stuff and got a bit confused because of similar brand names. Has anyone here actually used Insta Tints recently for window tinting / ceramic / PPF? How was the quality, pricing, warranty, and overall experience? Just looking for honest feedback before booking. Thanks!
Getting 80 VLT ceramic tint on a Carmine Red Porsche 911 Targa (sides + rear). Shop uses XPEL XR Plus.
I've seen threads about the blue hue on XR Plus at 35%, 55%, and 70%, but can't find anyone talking about it at 80 VLT specifically. At that shade is there any noticeable blue cast, or is the film too light for it to show?
Considering 3M Crystalline Black 80 as an alternative if the blue is an issue. Anyone compared the two at 80 VLT?
I want really light because my state doesn't allow too much tint
I cannot see SHIT lol. Can barely see in daylight.
How long will it take for me to adapt to this?
I am considering to install tint myself but haven't been able to find any solid reliable brand online. What do you guys use and order those films for DYIers??
Thanks
How dark would it be to put 50 percent on top of 40 percent tint?
