For multiple generations now, my territory (the purple) literally NEVER decays -- when it does, howling once gets it back up to 100%. This doesn't happen for any of my other games, only this one, and none of the wolves I've played as have had the territorial might perk, is it a bug? It is kind of nice to never worry about territory though lol
update 2: looking for a new mate. ended up going with bear inc lawyers and they made quick work of removing the freeloader.
update: our three remaining pups died. my mate continued to be scared of prey, so they starved. i have had a major leg injury for a while and he just isn't cutting it. he will be sent "paperwork" from bison divorce lawyers asap.
exactly as title reads, i plan to divorce my mate next season. we have one litter of pups and so far he's been extremely sub-par. he waited until i was basically dead to help with killing a doe mule deer, then had the audacity to eat it all. he refuses to come with me most times that i request a hunt because our pups are STARVING, but gets angry when i come back empty-handed because i couldn't find anything.
he also tucks his tail and runs alongside anything we're hunting until it's nearly dead, no matter what it is- i've never seen him hunt even a rabbit. AITA?
I’ve just lost my third pup to sickness because no one would let her eat. I was tired and couldn’t find a single elk herd anywhere so ran around finding rabbits and hidden fawns but every time I brought one back, my pups would shove past the sick one (they were all above 80% and she was 20%) and when they were full one of my yearlings shoved past the sick one and ate the whole fawn, she later was too sick to eat and died. I’m getting really frustrated trying to get my sick pups to eat when all my packmates seem to do is try their hardest to ensure they die.
I was hoping growling at the ones stealing her food would make them stop and back off but they just ignored me. Is there anyway at all to ensure my sick hungry pup can eat first?
AIO; My pack and I were sleeping and I woke up with a weird collar. I dont remember anything, so of course I freaked out.
My sons, Aisho(2M) and Guntuk(1M) said I waa overreacting, but i could have sworn that I could see a weird object in the sky flying away. There was even footprints in the snow.

hi! so i have a friend who loves to play wolfquest , but shes always so nervous to play. i think what scares her the most is predator attacks at the den, and other random things. she doesn't want to play anymore as she's so nervous and i think its taking the fun out of the game for her. does anyone have any advice you can give her?

The game page on Discord has these official screenshots where a wolf seems to have bright green eyes, but I thought unnatural eye colors weren't allowed.
I know you can technically make 'green' eyes ingame by making them grey, but these are like...bright lime green. How do you get this eye color ingame?
after my rant I haven’t played the game at all I finally got back into WolfQuest and realized why the game was so boring to me. single-player gets boring really boring I want to play with a actual person single player is so boring and I miss having someone to talk and play with
We don't have a ton of info right now, but considering what we do have, what makes you most excited?
I think my #1 thing is no coyotes. I hate coyotes so much. I have rage quit WolfQuest twice because of coyotes, and I never rage quit games. The Devs could honestly make a map with barely any content but if it had no coyotes I'd buy it immediately and it would be my favourite map. I honestly don't care about the brown bears who will be very abundant and potentially stronger than Yellowstone grizzlies, I can deal with that and I'll take them over coyotes any day.
My #2 is having new prey that will probably be very different to ungulates in terms of how you hunt them. I literally had a dream about how seal hunting might be last night and I'm really excited. I'm not sure what otter hunting will look like, and I'm not sure if there will be other animals like Stellar Sea lions, but even just one animal with different hunting mechanics is going to be awesome. The format of find prey > make them run > run them down for a few minutes until they are tired > bite until dead gets kinda boring after a while. I've been learning how to hunt bison which is pretty different to the usual format of ungulate hunting, but it still has similarities to hunting elk. Seal hunting looks most similar to maybe beaver hunting? From the video it looked like the seals will be like a mix between cougars and beavers, with the extra feature of being able to pull them backwards. I'm excited to see how hunting otters and salmon will look too!
My #3 is being able to have a new environment. I'm assuming a lot of the foliage is going to look different, and we might get new rocks? I'm excited for a change of scenery! And being able to maybe visit that glacier in the top right corner of the map could be really cool.
#4 kind of ties in with #3, but I'm interested to see what new things there are to find. New landmarks, new collectibles, having new things to find is going to be very exciting for me!
My #5 is new music!! I love the WolfQuest music so much, and having new sound tracks is going to be amazing! I'm super excited for that.
#6 is the idea of getting new quests. I think Learn to Hunt will be changed to hunt seals, since there will be no elk. Hunt Newborn Ungulates might be replaced with a salmon spawning quest in late summer. I don't see a point in keeping the newborns quest if the only ungulates on the map will be moose and we won't really be hunting them. I think the subquest will probably be replaced with salmon spawning. Or maybe we'll get two new quests instead of the newborns quest, and we'll get one for hunting harbour seal babies (which I think are born around the same time as the newborns in Yellowstone?) and another one for hunting salmon in the late summer.
My #7 is probably that Douglas Bay area, I'd love to be able to claim it and pretend I have my own island. I'm praying there are dens there!
And then #8 is probably new achievements, though I'm praying that they aren't too difficult. I need 9 more achievements to 100% the game, I'm hoping I'll be able to finish those before Katmai releases. I hope Katmai's achievement difficulty will be similar to Tower Fall's.
So I have attempted to do this with all 3 packs on the map now, killing all the female pack leaders and then sleeping out and in the territory to get the mate to spawn. But when he does he's always aggro? Even if I sleep and reset for as long as a season he never de-aggros and on one of the packs he actually got another female mate?? Why can't I get the male leader to court me after defeating the previous female leader?? I am losing my mind!! Help!
I bought the game back in 2019 pre-release where you could get it for "free" if you purchased 2.7 (if I'm remembering correctly). I actually purchased it right before a family trip to Yellowstone! I rarely played because I had limited access to a PC, and just started playing regularly in 2026 because I got a new computer. I thought I was a beast with my 253 hours because I'd never played a game that much before, but I just met someone in a social server who has over 2000! I guess I learned I am an amateur gamer at best, lol. How many hours do you have?
Ok, this is probably the stupidest question I am ever gonna ask on here, but I don't really know anyone irl who plays this game, so here I am. I've had a lot of my pack rallies fizzle because it would only do my secondary howl before the bar could fill up halfway. Or I'd have trouble even starting one because it did my secondary howl so much. Is this a normal thing in game? Like, does it roll a random chance to do you primary or secondary howl? Cause I thought the secondary howl is only for when your packmates are far away. Or am I somehow doing the most basic of things wrong? Am I stupid or is this a bug?

As of right now I'm currently attempting to get the NPC coats Stormy, Buffy, Chocosnout, and Backfire by pairing kk x kk, and KK x Kk (or kk). However I noticed that when I'm trying to find a 4 star kk mate as a gray wolf myself, I'm unable to find one and I do not recall this being an issue in the past. I've been searching and map hopping for over five hours now. I'm keen on trying to getting a 4 star kk mate to maximize litter size because I play with all pup RNG's off. Have they altered the game so you cannot find a 4 star kk wolf with a kk player wolf?
I took a bit of a break from playing, over a year I'd guess, and I'm back to being hooked! Which has led me to noticing a couple animations I hadn't noticed before.
I've only noticed it with Elk so I'm unsure if other prey do it, but sometimes an Elk will trip over something or just fall. I'm not sure what really triggers/causes it to happen but I thought it was cool!
Pup sleeping positions look different but I may not have been looking too closely before!
I also noticed that sometimes when a pup howls it will jump on to its hind legs. It was honestly so insanely cute!
I haven't noticed any others quite yet but I'd love to hear some cute/unique animations you've come across!
There's no other wolf in the Miller Creek pack. Why? Skycloud is my daughter, who has dispersed.

Then they’re too dumb to even grab the food when I set a baby ungulate in front of them and another wolf gets their share! 😩

This is the first time this (my entire pack, not packmates going out in general) has happened to me, which is pretty cool. Of course, most of the usual assumed requirements were fulfilled for a pack hunt, those being: daytime, pack unable to regurgitate for hungry pups, and wakefulness over 40%.
I just thought this was pretty cool that they were all leaving me alone with the pups, since I usually have around one or two other wolves with me when that happens. If they don't come back with full bellies, I'll consider some of the older packmates for that divorce agency I hear is pretty popular.
I can't name my puppy Marseille. It says "Filtered Name". Is there a reason why this name isn't allowed?

Tell me WHY I can't feed the pups without these FATASSES stealing the food! First carcass I found in 3 in-game days, and it all went to waste because this pack won't let the pups eat!
I just wish there was something where weaker and starving wolves actually have priority, because this is just ridiculous
i always felt that it was a little odd that if you meet the requirements to unlock the survival of the pack achievements on a higher difficulty, it doesn't unlock for any difficulties below it. to my understanding, most games with achievements like this will unlock lower difficulty ones for the player as well, because if they achieved the higher-difficulty feat then they'd probably easily manage to do it on a lower difficulty anyway.
is there a reason it isn't set up like this? or is this just an oversight on the devs' part?
