All World Cup predictors were buggy and ugly, so I've build a cool one

I've built this for friends only first, but it came around as a pretty cool app, so thought people might like it.

You can set up your own league with friends, or compete in a global one.

Implemented couple fun boosters like Joker card, Anytime Scorer, and more. Also bonus points for choosing correct winner, runner-up, top scorer and more

Let me know if you'd like to see something else or any comments!

  4. Portugal will not even make to the semis and Argentina ain't gonna defend their title

  5. If France goes deep into the tournament then Michael olise will win the golden ball

  6. Harry Kane to win the golden boot

  7. Jamal Musiala will be the most important player for Germany

Joachim Klement, whose model correctly predicted the last 3 World Cup winners, has released his 2026 prediction

Joachim Klement / Panmure Liberum have released their 2026 World Cup prediction report.

What makes this interesting is that Klement’s model correctly predicted the last three World Cup winners:

2014: Germany
2018: France
2022: Argentina

For 2026, the model predicts a pretty surprising outcome:

Winner: Netherlands
Runner-up: Portugal
Semi-finals: Netherlands vs Spain, England vs Portugal
Final: Netherlands vs Portugal

Some other notable predictions:

Japan beats Brazil in the Round of 32 and reaches the quarter-finals.
France beats Germany in the Round of 16.
Portugal beats Argentina in the quarter-finals.
All four semi-finalists are European teams.

The report is also very self-aware and repeatedly says not to take the model too seriously, especially because knockout football has a huge luck/randomness factor. Still, after getting the last three winners right, I think it’s an interesting prediction to discuss.

What do you think? Netherlands finally winning it, or is the model going to fail this time?

I built a World Cup 2026 prediction framework to make tournament forecasts more systematic

Most World Cup predictions are basically gut feeling.

I wanted something a bit more structured, so I put together a simple prediction framework for World Cup 2026.

The idea is to evaluate teams using factors like:

• Recent form
• Squad depth
• Tournament experience
• Defensive strength
• Goal-scoring ability
• Injury risk

Then use those assumptions to build:

  • Group stage forecasts
  • Knockout projections
  • Champion predictions

I turned it into a printable worksheet because I find it easier to compare assumptions before the tournament starts.

Curious what variables people here think are most predictive in international tournaments.

Muntari's goal against Uruguay in 2010 came from 39.1 yards — frame-verified at 105 km/h. Still one of the greatest World Cup strikes never properly celebrated.

July 2 2010. 45th minute added time. Ghana one goal up. 36 minutes from becoming the first African nation to reach a World Cup semi-final. Muntari's strike from 39.1 yards hit 105 km/h — Fernando Muslera never moved.

The goal got lost in what happened afterwards. It deserved better.

Throwbacks World Cup 😊

The Most Shocking Upset: Senegal vs. France (2002)

This match remains the pinnacle of World Cup David-versus-Goliath moments.

France arrived in South Korea as the reigning World and European champions, boasting a star-studded squad. Senegal, on the other hand, was making their tournament debut.

In one of the most heavily lopsided games on paper, Senegal completely outplayed Les Bleus. Papa Bouba Diop scored the only goal, sending shockwaves through the footballing world. France shockingly crashed out in the group stage without scoring a single goal

I lowered the price of my World Cup 2026 Pool Kit to $4.99 — looking for honest feedback before I keep expanding it

Over the last few weeks I've been building a printable World Cup 2026 prediction and pool kit.

The original goal was simple: create something cleaner than the random spreadsheets, screenshots, and notes my friends and I always end up using during major tournaments.

Based on feedback I've received so far, I simplified a few things and lowered the launch price to $4.99.

Before I spend more time adding features, I'd genuinely like to know:

- What would make a World Cup pool kit worth paying for?

- What features would you expect?

- What would stop you from using something like this?

Looking for honest feedback, even if it's critical.

Who do YOU think will surprisingly yop their World Cup group in 2026?

Every Men's FIFA World Cup always has a team that surprisingly tops their group (maybe USA in 2010 isn't as much of a surprise)
