Worst ASX Stonks

Was recently having a beer with some mates, and this topic came up.

We settled on Brainchip.

There were other contenders, but pound for pound no other stonk has managed to erode retail coin quite as spectacularly.

Opinions on: GAME

Oven only been investing in ETFs for about 8mo. When I first looked into them Game looked like a solid opportunity, but it’s the only one that’s stayed around -20% when it took a dive. I know there are cycles but it sounds like it’s a long term cycle… who’s keeping it and who’s sold it?

NQD - Betashares NASDAQ 100 ETF. Wait for SpaceX or shoot now?

*Edit: NDQ not NQD :-D

Because of the new rule changes, SpaceX gets included into the NASDAQ 100 on July the 7th. I have a bit of cash to invest and I was holding off under the notion that SpaceX's IPO might trigger a resonance cascade and bring the whole Ai bubble down.

But as they say, the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

Apparently the inclusion into the index is not going to cause much of a change in the index itself but will have more of an effect on SpaceX. Because of weighting SpaceX is only going to be about 1% of the index.

What would you do?

Thoughts

23M

I have a net worth of $110k.

I have been investing in growth stocks mostly based on them giving the best returns. Given the CGT changes, it’s no longer as tax effective to invest in these areas and the gap between growth and dividend investing becomes tighter regarding tax effective returns.

I’m now thinking of going transitioning over the next year into dividend Aussie blue chips to make the most of the last tax effective concept being franking credits.

Behind this I plan on traveling the world and if I kept my income on paper low it would make sense.

The only growth investment I would have is in super, maybe some pre tax contributions but mostly employer only.

Why isn’t this better given dividends is cash now for my travels rather then growth investing which is no longer as effective

ETF Question

Hi everyone,

27(m)

I’ve been investing in ETFs for the past 5 years.

My current portfolio is:

VAS/VGS (30/70 split) – $100k total

VSO – $10k (I no longer contribute to this)

Going forward, I only plan to invest in VAS and VGS, but I’m considering adding VGE for emerging markets exposure at around 10% of my portfolio.

Would you sell VSO and use those funds to buy VGE, or keep VSO and simply start allocating new investments across VAS, VGS, and VGE?

Interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

How often and how much to invest into American ETF's from Australia?

I invested once like 4k AUD into some stocks and first I had to convert AUD to USD which at the end it came out to maybe 3.8k AUD in usable USD on Interactive Brokers. I hear people always say to DCA into stocks but how do I do it in the most cost effective way with losing as little value in my initial investment from adding AUD funds to converting it to USD and then using it to buy stocks. What is a good amount to DCA into like 1-2 stocks and how often. I can try to do it weekly or monthly, but what is better in terms of losing my initial added funds to the final buy of shares. I can do maybe $500 AUD max, either weekly or $2000 max monthly.

Rate My Portfolio - r/AusStocks Monthly Thread June 2026

Please use this monthly thread to discuss your portfolio, learn about others' portfolios, and help out users by giving constructive criticism.

As usual, please don't just list the names of stocks (or ask 'what do you think'), try to elaborate with your thoughts on the companies or news. Writing the tickers in bold is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names. Please ensure you include the percentage each ticker takes up your portfolio.

If you want more 'in-depth discussion', by all means, feel free to open up a new thread, this is merely to facilitate briefer 'chats'.

This thread will post monthly at the end of each month, depending on user feedback we may make it quarterly.

okay, so what was wrong last time? Last time I was getting the returns from my provider. This time I'm calculating the returns from first principals. u/Itchy_Journalist_175 pointed out that I can calculate what I need from the price data (of course you can, I'm an idiot).

I've checked a few against the reported results from the ETF manager reports directly, and they're basically bang on. The results can be a fraction of a percent off, because it depends on exactly when they grabbed the price. From what I can gather returns are updated at least monthly and the end of month closing price is used.

I welcome the finding of errors!

RCKT. What is going on?!

Purchased $1000 of RCKT shares just before space x went public.
Bought at $15, it’s been dropping ever since.
Hold?
Sell?
I’m down nearly $300 and thinking I’ll cut my losses.

Seems the space x didn’t make any improvement at all

Difference between these WTFs?

From my research as I understand it VTS is meant to track SPY and NDQ is meant to track QQQ. With the US stock market falling overnight and the currency exchange remaining flat if anything slightly worse of in AUD conversion how come the Australian ETFs are up by 0.5-1% when the US market fell?

Apologies if this is a basic question just starting to explore the Australian market

Commbank emailing about spacex IPO - here's a warning

I've had 3 communications from commbank with information about the ability for commsec users to buy into spacex.

Here's a link to one video from a lady who has done alot of research into it & how structurally bad if not outright fraudulent it is.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZsKfVdInuh/?igsh=MTZmNzJ1eGRhcHJzbg==

I hope more people see it, avoid it & the index funds that have been legally required to buy stocks in it.
