ok, what HAPPENED after LP5? How to get into the more "intimidating" albums?
so, I'm the "what to do after Amber" guy. I went with Tri Repetae, Garbage, and LP5.
I started out my dive into Ae with Incunabula so you can already probably guess how clueless I was about just how much Ae's sound changed.
So, I came from SAW 85-92, which is a really easy listen to be frank, very accessible. Then I took a dive into Incunabula, and a whole year passed after I went with Amber. Felt like I was getting my training wheels off so to speak.
ooh wee.
I don't know how exactly to put it into words, but they way Amber, Tri Repetae, and then LP5 grew on me has never been as strong as with any other artist. Any other artists I somehow got in the first 20 minutes of an album and then it was all smooth saling. Autechre is kind of... different?
I guess it's the kind of music you don't instantly get, but over time just... something changes? I felt like LP5 was a bit too much. Then it grew on me and became a weekly listen. And then it became an obsession.
and then Confield. yeah.
what the HELL is Confield?!
question is, how do I start listening to their later works? Has it also grown on you as well?
Would you call it "intimidating"? Cause I sure as hell do. I don't like Ae any less for it.
Thank you for the comments on that last Amber post, y'all did me a solid one and I had a very good listen.

Take on Autechres " Amber " Album
I know this has probaly already been talked about but does anyone else think that Autechre's "Amber" album is kind of boring. This was my first Autechre album to listen to and I was quite bored. Th eonly track I really liked was Foil and it seemed boring and underwhelming for me. Does anyone else think this>
This new album is VERY similar to the latest Autechre sound this tour. Speedy J - Walkman
Not sure if he used the same production techniques or not but it honestly sounds like it could have been made by Autechre. Very solid work
Questions about Autechre : New Fan
I have another question. I am a fairly new Autechre fan and i have some questions
How do they get the name or their title tracks.? To me it feels like some type of alien language but its really cool
How do you pronounce " Autechre ". I pronounce it like Aw-Tek-Er but I used to pronounce it like Aw-Te-Sure.
I would appreciate anyone who could answer and I wanted to choose Reddit before Google to ask the community!
Autechre Guitar Live
Just a few words about Shane Parish’s gig in Paris (at a bar called Chair de Poule — Goosebumps) a few days ago. On record, Autechre Guitar had struck me as interesting, but nothing more. However, live, on a rainy evening, it was perfect.
We were about twenty in the venue. The gig might as well have been in the dark, given that Shane was playing with his eyes closed. His technical mastery was pretty impressive and he played almost the entire album (with the exception of “Slip”, unless I’m mistaken). After the gig, I had a quick chat with him: jokingly (I guess), he mentioned the possibility of tackling Autechre’s more recent tracks next. A good time, then.
We're Gonkcast, An Autechre Podcast but this week members of our patreon have voted that we cover 2001's Drukqs as our weekly bonus episode.

I made a little edit of these guys
There’s like barely any footage of them at all online lmao
