Is Jones even a cat?

ETA: gotta work on my funny voice....

Who can even tell with those guys anyway? But, like how could a hypersleep pod work for both a human and a cat? Isn't that an expensive way to boost morale? Wouldn't it be cheaper for W-Y to install a synth cat on board to observe, at least keep the humans company in their pens, and maybe feed Ash and MU/TH/UR actionable intel?

Should I fog coat my 1920's stucco? Would painting be crossing a line?

edit: TIL lime wash is a great option for phased DIY rehab, especially given the condition of the stucco in the photo. Thanks!

Minnesota here. Will a fog coat on this wall be more durable than oxy-wash and two spray coats of SW Loxon? I've seen advice from Ed Daher and the Stucco Guy, so of course I am an expert. /s I think this 1920's stucco was never painted. It comes off chalky on my hand. I could prep and apply a fog coat myself in phases. Seems like that would cover exposed areas while allowing the wall to breathe and maintaining the texture. Or, I could pay a painter. But then I'd have a painted stucco house that will need a new coat every few years, right? Is there a right or wrong way, or is it really just a matter of personal taste?

winter beast: Globe Daily 1

Aluminum frame, VO fenders, drive train replaced annually (thanks, MN winters). Has been with me through thick and thin. In winter I run 45NRTH Xerxes tires and BikeIowa pogies. Hell yeah!

Hinterlands = kinda Arthur C. Clarke x Wm. Burroughs

I'm no widely-read genius but to me Hinterlands (hello, Omni magazine, from a former reader) blends a big chunk of Carke's hard sf humanism with a bit of the visceral psych noir I associate with William Burroughs et al. Maybe it's Gibson's appropriation of Dr. Benway's term "the Fear" that has me thinking this. See esp. Clarke's "The Sentinel" (1951), and the monolith one obvs. ANYway, I'm enjoying rereading Burning Chrome. After decades in a box the paperback smells faintly, not of old hydrocarbons, but definitely like something the Finn might fish out of a toppled stack.

Open-carry cyclist spotted

Yes it's legal in MN with a permit. But geez folks, calm down out there. May 29 I saw a guy riding on Minnehaha Ave south of Lake St wearing a side holster full of hell. I guess the lifted pickup crowd will think twice before coal rolling that dude.

Also: no helmet. <clutches pearls>

ETA: I'm glad to see the conversation here, that's kinda why I posted. And I want to clarify that yes I do respect the right to carry. But none of us know if that guy has a permit, so was he exercising his right? Don't assume you know my stance on the larger issues. Maybe I carry too. Maybe not. Speaking of stance, for real: how *tf* can anyone stop, draw and aim responsibly while making watts, right? Anyway it's still a free county I'm told. So enjoy it together while we can.
