title. Whenever I try to boot Catchy from Limine, it will only boot in emergency mode. I did the full wipe on an HDD in the installer so I have an EFI partition and a normal volume partition and everything. I haven't done anything to break it, because I have never been in it. I had no errors during the installer process. All I did was restart from the live environment because thats what it required, went into limine, tried to boot Catchy, and it just is a black screen that says its in emergency mode out of the box.

I have no recourse and no snapshots, because I have never been in the OS.

Do I just go through the process of reinstall? It sounds like a lengthy pain in the ass but I dont know how I broke a system that I have literally never ran.

I've been drinking some Huel original in the chocolate flavor, and while it doesn't taste BAD bad, it is definitely not great, I'm able to power through it, but wondering if Essentials or Black edition tastes better? I'd be willing to pay a bit more for Black if people thought that it tasted substantively better than the classic line. Can anyone who has tried both original and essential/black speak on any taste differences?

No, for the last time, the mod isn't cancelled

Jokes aside, this has been a really tough devcycle, I want to thank everyone who has shown interest in the mod throughout it's lifespan, from it's conceptual creation by Umi to it's current state, this has all been possible via the effort of my fellow developers, those who have contributed to the subreddit with mockups and edits, and those that have been following and anticipating the mod. I sincerely apologize for the radio silence.

With everything from real life obligations to the death of a member of our development team (a good and talented person who was taken from us far too young, I sincerely hope that he may rest in peace), this has not been easy.

Why has the mod's development taken so long?

Well, multiple reasons, firstly, the mod was announced earlier in development than most big CYOA are. Secondly, it actually has not been that long, by large CYOA standards, mods like All The Way and Things That Never Were had devcycles lasting the lion's share of a year, and with as many opponents and paths and questions as we have, this mod will inevitably take some time. Thirdly, we are somewhat understaffed, we have 1 coder who is able to code currently (formerly 2, however the other coder doesn't currently have access to a working computer), and only 1 active writer. And fourthly, several unfortunate aforementioned events (alongside normal life stuff like family obligations, vacations, relationships, etc.), from real life issues to the death of a team member, have hampered development significantly, with us at one point taking a significant hiatus.

Stop being a bummer and just talk about the mod!

Okay, okay, I hear you. I can confidently say that the incumbency simulator portion of the mod is over 90% complete, with general election/campaign sections seeing extensive development (some opponents, such as Ronald Reagan, are completed). Custom coded GUI and UI elements are fully functional and in place to help guide the player through the experience.

What are the major obstacles to the mod's completion right now?

Significant work remains in coding/writing general campaigns and endings, and the mod will need continual playtesting and tweaks.

Why make this post at all?

I fear that a lot of the common playerbase have either forgotten or dismissed the mod as dead, but I reiterate that TLMWID is very much in development still and is significantly through it's development cycle. I wanted to speak frankly about the concerns that many may have had, without sugar coating or obfuscating the very real concerns and issues we have faced.

When will the mod release?

It would be somewhat foolhardy to give out a release date now when any issue in the lives of the 2-3 active developers could cause significant delay, but chronologically, we are definitely closer to the release of TLMWID than it's announcement.

This entire decade of Ye's music, starting at Donda and amplifying during the Vultures and Bully eras, has been so fucking downbeat and industrial and gloomy.

All the promo and art, including the covers, is like all black and gray. Remember how colorful and lively the covers for shit like Graduation, MBDTF, Pablo, KSG, etc. were? When he was at his peak, he put out covers that you could geniunely put on your wall because they just looked appealing and fun, I could never imagine putting something like Bully's cover on my wall, even if I don't hate it's cover. Even his fits are all dark and bulky, I feel like he used to have so many different colors and shapes in his clothes, but nowadays its all just thick, dark jackets with baggy dark pants, and it's so homogenous.

It's not just the fits/art/promo too, like all his new music is meant to sound so minimal and industrial, but it just makes everything feel kinda depressing and samey, like he still has standout songs and I think Bully was a solid album, but a Ye album nowadays just doesn't have those same, fun, infinitely relistenable crossover pop songs that made him big and I lowkey miss it.

A new Ye era could bring back colorful and fun art/songs, I love when he would just rap on a cute ass beat like The Glory or Bittersweet Poetry, but even just hype songs like Good Life or Through The Wire that just sound danceable seem so rare for him to make nowadays nowadays.

I hereby ask Ye to bring back the white girl music.

Their early work was a little too Goth Rock for my taste, but when Treasure came out in '84, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a ethereal, shimmering sound, and a new sheen of airy dreamlike wonder that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to The Cure, but I think the Twins have a far more whimsical and mysterious flair to them.

In '90, the Twins released this; Heaven or Las Vegas, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Cherry-Coloured Funk". A song so transcendently beautiful, most people probably don't listen to the dense layers of sounds, but they should, because it's not just a diversion from traditional pop trends and richly complex in of itself, it's also a deeply textural exploration of the vortex of ambience and pop.
