Am I wrong for asking someone who used my grill to clean it?

My wife's son uses my Blackstone often when cooking Sunday lunch,. but he never cleans it. After he left it a mess with all the sugar from a tri-tip marinade, I asked him the following week if he would clean. He said he would. So I went inside and got my water spray bottle and brought it out. By the time I got back he said he was done. The grill still had all the sugars, etc from the previous week. He just scraped all the big pieces off. When I said here is the water, he said he didn't need it When I pointed out all the sugars etc that had caked on the grill, he said it did not matter. He said he would just clean it off the next time he grilled. I told that was fine and I would do it myself. He then blew up at me. I am wrong to expect someone who uses my grill to properly clean it?

Pizza oven

I want to get a pizza oven attachment for my husband for Father’s Day but don’t know where to start. I want to get him one he will really like. He has the bigger black stone that has a stand. I’m not sure what’s a good option. Does anyone have any experience or advice for me? Thanks in advance!

Seasoning question

I seasoned it 6 times with the blackstone seasoning a few days ago at night and just checked it out right now . Did I mess up with these left over oil streaks? Do I need to do anything to them or will everything just even out over time as I cook

Peeling

Started seeing some light peeling after a cook. I was in the process of cleaning it to then add a light coat of avocado oil as I do after every cook. Started seeing some light rust once passing the scraper as I pushed off the water. Should I just scrub off the spots of rust I see or treat the whole griddle and reseal with the conditioner? I’ve had it for about 6 months and immediately coated it with the conditioner 3x. Always use avocado oil when cooking and immediately clean and coat with avocado oil at the end of the cook. Always let the griddle cool down before covering and to make sure the oil stayed on and didn’t burn off. Could I have been scraping it too harshly or at a bad angle that it then caused the peeling to occur?

Ignitor Issue?

Hey everyone! I’ve had my blackstone for close to a year and love it! However, last month we had a wicked storm roll through and blew this bad boy over. Since then I’m having trouble igniting a flame. The gas lines definitely still work, I can smell it immediately every time I open the propane line and turn on the burners. The problem is when I push the ignitor button it doesn’t light the burners right away. Sometimes I have to keep trying and trying for minutes while turning gas on and off so I don’t blow my eyebrows off. Now I just take the griddle completely off to expose the burners and light them by hand with a lighter. So that being said i believe the igniting system is no longer creating a spark. I can hear the “clicking” when I push the ignitor button every time so it’s not completely broken. Does anyone have any insight on a problem like this? Is it hard to replace these things? Is there a quick fix other than removing the griddle to every time? Any help or suggestions would be amazing!

TLDR; grill fell over, ignitior button works but won’t actually ignite the flowing gas through the burners. Help. :)

Not sure how to add a picture here btw, sorry!

Best Cleaner

I always get this extremely hard to remove crud on the side of my Blackstone shelves. Even some on the handles, but the side shelves are the biggest culprit. What is the best cleaner you guys have to recommend to break through this stuff. I’ve used some grill cleaner, but think I need to resort a carburetor cleaner. Lol. Just joking.

First time doing stir fry on my Blackstone!

I did a chicken stir fry tonight for dinner. First time I have done a stir fry on my Blackstone. I made the rice yesterday. I cut up the veggies and chicken. Threw it all on the Blackstone after using a SPG spice blend. Used some low sodium soy sauce that brought it all together. Forgot to take a photo while on the heat but it turned out delicious!

Is this fine?

I have just been cooking on this like normal, and I just want to make sure that this little bit is not a big deal.

Making smash burgers tonight, and just threw an extra coat of avocado oil on

Rust, covers, water and time. Saved?

My father's blackstone has been covered in NE ohio since he got sick about 6 years ago. He has a Blackstone grill maybe 48 inches with a grill side and a griddle side. A weber gas grill that I might be able to save. And a smoker that I can't tell the model of yet.
I'm aware that the Weber and the smoker are dirty from at least six years ago.

But the Blackstone seems affected but not damaged after all this time.
The griddle that drops in is orange and even had a bit of colorful grease slick on the water that had pooled. Beneath, the burners looked new as I drew the water off the griddle. I don't know much about Blackstone grills, but the part of me that knows cast iron cookware thinks it can be saved. The question is always effort vs. cost.
Old grit from the same 16th birthday party is caked to the grates on the left side but it seems that the burners are still freshish and shockingly clean.
What do I need to do to get this grill going?

After years of dreaming of one, my friends and family pooled in to get me a blackstone!

It says pre seasoned but I’m guessing it’s a good idea to do another coat? What tips/tricks do you have?
