Concealer recommendation for my skin tone /undertone

Hello everyone
I’m not into make up at all, I usually only use eyeliner and mascara and some blush.
First picture is the maximum of makeup I ever put on, I was going to a concert. Second picture is my everyday look.
But my my dark circles have been bothering me. I bought a mac concealer but it looked orange and I threw it away. I saw someone talk about the right concealer depending on the undertone. I know nothing about undertones. Can you please recommend a concealer that will look good for my dark circles.
Ps: sorry for my english, it’s not my first language

How Can I Elevate My Look? Makeup advice/ Hairstyle suggestions

Anyways, how can I elevate my look? For background, I don't know how to do my own makeup (or hair) that well but want to try new looks/styles! My hair is relaxed at the moment but I think sometime down the line some cute braids would eat. For now, I want to learn how to style my relaxed hair as I mainly just wear it straight down every day (with some curls here and there). Ideally I’d love something that’s easy to do every day for just a natural enhancement to my face. I don’t want anything super heavy as I’m just not simply used to seeing myself in heavy makeup and think it may be a bit off putting. If you have any super beginner tips/tutorials that'd be greatly appreciated!

Also please excuse the stiff posing lmao idk how to pose

Powder Bronzer Recommendations? Help A Struggling Sister Out 🤲🏾

For the dark skinned olive girls (Fenty 445, NARS New Caledonia), what bronzers are you reaching for? I’m having trouble finding good powder bronzers, specifically… When companies reach this depth, they seem to lose all nuance in tones and start making everything so red 🤧 I have deep skin with a neutral undertone but prominent golden-olive overtones which makes shopping for complexion products that match and flatter my colour feel near impossible! Any suggestions from anyone who may be in a similar boat?

summer glow formula = embrace the tan + hydrated skin

The tan is the makeup !

Jk

But in summer I feel like it’s too hot to do a full beat and a tan does like half the job in giving you a glow so why not embrace it!

I only use the bronzing drops all over my face, for the rest of the products it’s a very targeted application to keep a natural dewy finish. Spot concealing, targeted powder only on under eyes + around nose
Highlighting balm on the cheeks and nose.
Very light application !

Makeup:
Makeup Revolution bronzing drops mixed with Glossier Priming Moisturizer
SHEGLAM concealer
JUDYDOLL mascara
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (Honey)
KAXIER Jelly Balm
Fenty Beauty Match Stix (Truffle)
NYX Professional Makeup Slim Lip Pencil (Café)
Maybelline Lifter Gloss
Peripera Syrup Tok Blush

My Everyday Makeup Look (Products, Order, etc) [Gift Card Entry]

Hey!! I feel like my camera quality is getting progressively worse lol but I tried to post in slightly different lighting for the each picture.

My makeup routine:
- Fill in/shape brows with the Anastasia brow pencil
- Apply Haus Labs concealer (shade 42) under eyes, a little around the nose, and a little under my mouth [LET SIT]
- A bit of black eyeshadow on outer corners of eye, some black Nyx pencil eyeliner in the same area to deepen the value of the black and then blend out with small brush/finger (I use both)
- Blend out concealer
- Apply Makeup Forever Limitless Brown lip liner
- Apply Nars lipgloss in shade Aragon (some days I put a decent amount, some days only a little, some days not at all. Depends on how matte I want my lips to look; only did a little today)
- Sky High Cosmic Black mascara to top and bottom lashes (not TOO much on the bottom because it can make my eyes look closed up if I over-apply)

Hair: Styled in a half-up half-down style with some “bangs” in the front. Didn’t do my edges today but I did a few days ago and that ties the style together too. I’m on day 6 hair and in dire need of a deep condition so it lacks some luster but it’s okay lol

Some notes:
- I know people joke about noticing when people don’t put makeup on their forehead but I feel like I can just sense acne cooking up whenever I put some on my forehead so I just avoid it.
- The Haus Labs concealer is a new edition, I usually use Nars concealer in the shade Amande
- I’d like to use more bronzer and blush but I run into the same problem as the first bullet point. I’ll probably come back another time when I do a full face and get some tips because I’m shaky with that
- Can’t contour my nose for the life of me so I mostly leave it alone but if you guys have tips I’m open to hearing them!
- Sometimes I curl my lashes but I can’t tell the difference that well so I usually don’t bother

Please help me Beauty Max- I’m looking to improve my aesthetic and beauty.

Hi! I’m new to this subreddit so not sure if I’m posting with the right tag but I would love some help beauty maxing. First I do believe am genuinely beautiful however I feel like I have a bit of cognitive dissonance at times with how I see myself and how it actually shows up. However I am positive I can overcome this. I think an insecurity of my mine is the fullness of my face. That probably also comes from all the beauty standards that are pushed at me so I’m not sure if I fully want to slim my face but maybe get the right makeup techniques to accentuate my beauty. I think my vibe is like feminine and flirtatious. I provided a couple of pictures with different hair styles, some make up, some without. The last two are most recent trying some new contouring techniques. I would like advice on it all makeup, hair, posing, outfits, routines, product recs. I’m open. Thanks beautiful people for all your help!

Edit:

Hi everyone! First I wasn’t to say thanks for all the help and kind words I really do appreciate the encouragement and advice. Somethings I wanted to note. I saw a couple of comments asking if I was compliment fishing and no I am not and it was not my intention to come off that way. I am genuinely looking for advice. As a lot of you have stated I have a very youthful face with youthful cheeks which at times is an insecurity of mine that I’m working through. Also I do believe I am beautiful maybe the better word was hot? Sometimes I think I look more like a young girl than my age. I used beauty maxing bc that’s the term I’m familiar with on socials. I think I give like cutie patootie but I would love to bring some sexiness to my aura lol. Thanks to everyone who commented and gave their opinions, advice and kind words. I def got some great tips about my eyebrows, eyes, hair and lips. If anyone has any advice on my newly edited question about bringing up the hot factor I would appreciate it!

Does long hair or short hair flatter me more ? I’m trying to figure out the best style that is flattering for my face shape

The long hair is a wig. The short is my natural hair . Not sure if I get extensions or just keep at it with my short hair also

Since a lot of you asked on my last post, here's my everyday makeup routine (◕ᴗ◕✿)

first of all, thank you so much for all the love on my previous post! i genuinely wasn't expecting that response🥹😭

alot of people asked what products i use, so i thought I'd put everything in one place. (some even asked about the hair extensions lol??? but i gotchu🤏🏾)

most of my routine is made up of affordable products i buy here in Kenya, so some of these brands might be unfamiliar if you're outside East Africa

✨ Skin prep✨ (slide 5)

-Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream

-Cosmo SPF 30 sunscreen

✨Brows✨ (slide 6)

-Davis eye brow pencil (the skinny one) in number 2 (or dark brown, i use it first to sketch the shape and size of the brow)

-Kiss beauty superblack eyeliner pen (dark brown) (for colouring in the brow)

-Usha's master precise all day waterproof eyeliner pen (black) (it has a very fine tips to draw hair like strokes throughout the brow and at the beginning to give that feathered look)

-L.A girl pro conceal in Espresso (to clean up the brows but only the bottom, LEAVE THE TOP ALONE)

-L.A girl conceal in Fawn (to add highlight at the end/arxh of the brow)

✨Base✨ (slide 5)

(I don't use foundation🫣like i said in my previous post i used to be a full glam girlie then i just started wearing less layers, so foundation was one of the layers that had to go)

-L.A girl pro conceal in Espresso × Dark Cocoa (used for spot correcting and covering hyperpigmentation)

-L.A girl pro conceal in Fawn (for under eyes, nose bridge and tip, above the lip and chin)

-Ushas liquid blush (shade 01)

-s.t.r color blush color 03 (to set the liquid blush)

-Ushas Jelly tint (shade 04) (i use this to deepen the lighter blush to sort of create a contour effect, also use to contour my nose)

-Luron Compact powder in Golden Classic BL05 (for all over my face) and Amber Glow BL35 (for setting the lighter concealer)

-Black Opal loose powder in number 04 (usually for baking under the eyes and nose bridge but only if i want them brighter. but a great addition cause it helps the compact powder set better)

-Sevencool pure shimmer powder in no 12 and 09 (for highlight! 12 is blue and 09 is pink)

-Ushas Photo Finish Makeup Spray

✨Eyes✨ (slide 7)

-Ushas concealer pencil (for waterline)

-any waterproof mascara, mascara is genuinely just mascara i don't think it matters to me honestly just has to be waterproof 😭

✨Lips✨(for this particular post!) (slide 8)

-Davis Eye lip liner (thick pencil) in number 38 and number 13 (use 38 to outline and 13 to blend it out)

-Sweet Pop Juicy Glow Lipgloss in no 08

-Ushas popular lipgloss shade 105 (for the middle of the lower lip)

-Ushas fruity lipgloss (no 4) as the topper

(for the previous post!) (slide 9)

-Davis Eye lipliner in number 38 (outline)

-Kiss Beauty lipstick pen no 02 (blend out the outline)

-Usha's water lip tint in either number 01 or 03. 03 is pinker and lighter and 01 is deep and dark

-Ushas popular lipgloss shade 105 for the middle of lower lip

-Ushas fruity lipgloss (no 4) as the topper

✨Hair✨ (slide 10)

literally some extensions by a brand called Angels called Soprano locs, they're literally just soft locs (and i installed them like individual faux locs) but skinnier. the colour is black/#1

(slide 11 is me in indoor lighting🤭)

a little disclaimer: i know a lot of these brands aren't commonly available outside Kenya, but these are genuinely the products i use every day

some brands like usha's, davis eye, kiss beauty and str color are available online but I'm not sure you'll get the same product😭 i hope i was able to help though! one thing I love about my routine is that it's affordable. i don't think makeup has to be expensive to look good, so i usually buy products because they perform well, not because they're luxury brands

a few things people asked me:

• yes, these are my everyday brows😂please i shaved them off to draw them skinny everyday if you saw my real eyebrows you'd RUN

• my lashes are strip lashes, bought from an online store in Kenya their instagram page is @tottsbeauty they sell strip lashes in sets and different styles, i got a mixed style (all 25mm)

• ALL of my makeup is affordable/drugstore

• if anyone wants swatches or close-ups of a specific product, let me know, I'll try to reply in the comments!

Help me discover makeup style that suits me + product suggestion

This is my everyday makeup but I feel like I can change smth to make up better or pop more. Rn all I use for base is concealer and I’m trying to avoid foundation bcz of the heat and sweat. Is there any products I can use to make my makeup sweat proof? Especially with my glasses, my concealer tends to move around a lot

Apologies btw I don’t have clearer pics of my makeup

Sometimes when I take photos, I feel like my eyes almost look like they’re dragging outward or look a bit too prominent, and I can’t work out if it’s my makeup, my lashes, or just my eye shape.

Hi everyone!
I’m still quite new to makeup and I’m trying to figure out what actually suits my face

One thing I’ve always struggled with is my eyes. They’re quite big and prominent (slightly bug-eyed), and I find it really difficult to know what eye makeup complements them.

Why do my clusters always look like their fighting

How do I get them to look less boneless (also this is not the full lash map there’s one missing

I just go this wig! It came layered and fit the whimsy/fantasy aesthetic I love so much. ✨🤍

Let's Talk: Bronzer/Contour Isn't the Problem. Colorism Is.

I've been obsessed with makeup for years. I talk about makeup constantly, and I actually worked at Sephora and Ulta while I was in college. One thing I've noticed over and over, especially when talking to Black women, is that so many of us are hesitant to use bronzer and contour.

A lot of people tell me they're scared it's going to make them look "too dark," so they either choose a bronzer that's barely deeper than their skin tone or skip bronzer/contour altogether.

That honestly makes me a little sad.

As a community, I think we still have some work to do when it comes to unpacking the idea that looking darker is somehow a bad thing. Looking deeper in tone is not something to fear, and it definitely isn't something to avoid in your makeup.

The goal of bronzer is not to make you look darker.

Bronzer is meant to mimic the warmth your skin gets after spending time in the sun. It's what gives you that healthy, sun-kissed, just-got-back-from-vacation glow. I'm a medium-deep girl myself, and I love that warm summer look.

Contour is different. It's about creating shadows and adding dimension to your face. Your contour should absolutely be deeper than your skin tone because shadows are naturally deeper than the areas of your face that catch the light. A good contour can define your cheekbones, jawline, nose, and forehead in a way that still looks natural.

If your bronzer or contour looks intimidating in the pan, don't panic. Makeup is buildable, and there are techniques that make deeper shades much easier to wear.

One of my favorite techniques is underpainting. Apply your contour and bronzer first, then go over it with your foundation. It softens everything while still giving you beautiful dimension. You can also start with a light hand and gradually build the intensity until you find what works for you.

Here are some of my favorite beginner-friendly products:

Bronzer

Contour

So lets talk about it!

  • If you use bronzer and contour, drop your favorites below
  • If you've got techniques that work for you, share them, it might be exactly what someone else needs to finally try it
