I want to get them done and I'm wondering if they will make it harder for me to use my lips and tongue to cover my teeth. Or maybe because they are towards the sides of the mouth then a dick can pretty comfortably fit in between?
If you have them and have experience with this I'd love to know your thoughts!

How quickly were you able to speak clearly after this body modification? Did you still have a lisp, or did your speech return to normal over time?
I'm planning to have a tongue split, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to speak imperfectly but clearly after 12-14 days? And how long does it take for a full recovery?

Just wanted to show off my beautiful split and my fangs I just got! It has tremendously boosted my self esteem and I really am starting to feel like myself. I wish my fangs were permanent but I don’t have the money for that + still have to be sorta professional in my line of work. They are molded to fit my teeth and can pop in and off as needed, crafted by Kaos Custom Fangs 🙌🏼
Getting my first actual body mod done in about 2 months. Very respected guy. $800 for a tongue split, do the same rules apply as with tattoos? I’m all for tipping, just $800 tattooed is multiple hours and my understanding is this procedure should be over within an hour. Normally I’d tip my tattoo artist like 20-40 an hr but is a $40 tip scummy after a tongue split?

permanent fangs, and 2wks healed tongue split! im so sosoososoooo happy with my setup and i think i'm more or less done. these are the mods/piercings i'm gonna stick with for a long time. unless, of course, they come out with animal ear or tail implants ;) (and well, also, i might do some facial scarification WAY down the line)
but i just wanted to share because i am SO pleased. if anyone has fang/tongue questions as well feel free to ask.

July 2, 2026 — The procedure
The actual procedure wasn't painful, but it was really uncomfortable. The whole thing was done in about an hour.
My only regret is not drinking 3 liters of water and eating as much as possible beforehand 🙃
After the procedure, I'm drooling blood and barely talking. My tongue starts waking up a little and it stings pretty badly.
I just can't wait to get home and sleep. I even fall asleep in the car.
6 hours post-op: I can swallow my meds, but it's definitely not pleasant. I feel like I'm constantly biting my tongue, but it's more annoying than painful.
Still so sleepy.
Day 1
The sutures are still pulling a little, but I manage to drink some syrup.
Day 2
I eat yogurt mixed with milk to make it more liquid. It's still more uncomfortable than painful, and I'm still drooling everywhere.
I just want this to be over.
Day 3
I am droooooooling. The pain is still there, but whatever. I have to physically separate the two sides of my tongue with my hand because they've stuck together. It's just weird.
Day 4
Some of the sutures on the left side of my tongue seem to have come loose. It doesn't hurt, but I panic and message my body mod artist.
He reassures me that the sutures couldn't have come loose.
Day 12 — First follow-up
I go back to my body mod artist to have the sutures removed and get everything checked.
It turns out there is a small area that needs a touch-up, basically a little bit of excess tissue. He removes it.
More scary than painful! Normally, I just need to finish healing and it'll finally be over!
A quick review of the body mod artist: He's very nice, but not the gentlest. He nicked/cut me several times while removing the sutures. There are also quite a few threads still left. I don't know if that's normal since they're dissolvable sutures, but it looks a little unfinished haha.

About 2 weeks post-op
It's still pulling. Aaah.
I really can't wait for this to be over.
About 3 weeks post-op
It's still pulling, pulling, pulling. It's starting to really get on my nerves, and I'm beginning to wonder if something is wrong.
A few days later
I'm still feeling tension in my tongue, over and over again. Aaaaaaah.
I decide to message my body mod artist again. He tells me it's normal and that the tension should go away once the two-month healing period is over, so around September.
I also tell him that I feel like my split isn't straight and that one side of my tongue is smaller than the other.
He assures me that my tongues are still settling and that this is normal.
I'm still stressed about it, though.

October — Something is actually wrong
By October, my two sides are definitely not the same size.
The tension is still there, especially in the smaller side, and I can feel what seems like a stitch that's too tight.
So I go back to see my body mod artist.
This time, he tells me that there actually is a major problem.
Apparently, some of the sutures must have come loose, and he needs to reopen the split.
This time, I feel a good part of the procedure. He reopens the split and puts new sutures in.
We'll see how it heals this time.
One more thing: I also saw him answer the phone while wearing his gloves without changing them afterward...

I’m not currently super into scarification, but I have been wondering especially since joining the sub, what does it feel like? Specifically the healing process? I have a bad issue with picking and peeling my skin, and sometimes I’ll go too far down the skin layers (?) and it really hurts to even be exposed to air… I imagine scarification would be like that but worse?? 😬😬

In need of a body mod artist in the North Jersey Area, I’m willing to Travel out to NYC (A BIT) to get it done but ideally I wanna split my tongue hopefully in a few weeks or by December. I haven’t found a place yet that does extreme body mod and the artist that I have seen Travel and I don’t know if or when they’ll be back in the area. I don’t mind someone that travels I just wanna see their portfolio of work of course if any of you know any shops/studios or artist with Instagrams that I can see that’ll be real helpful thanks. I’ve gotten a whole sleeve of tattoos and multiple piercings yet I am absolutely terrified of getting the coin slot, the after pain doesn’t scare me. It’s literally just the getting it part. Can anybody with this mod tell me how it went??
Hi, I'm considering getting vampire fangs. I'm aiming for semi-permanent ones that don't do damage to the teeth - I know that sawai.bodymods and tooth fairy in Poland do them this way, but now i spend most of my time in Italy, so I'm searching for something here. It'd be nice if it was somewhere in central IT but really anywhere is fine. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance xx
