I've been on hormones for nearly a year now and I'm hoping to give progesterone a go. I've heard suppositories are the way to go, but I'm having trouble finding anywhere that sells them. Anyone have any leads?
TL:DR Why alternate HRT gel between thighs and arms?
I've been prescribed a low dose HRT gel. When in the Drs surgery discussing the differences between the patches and the gels the DR mimed squirting 2x pumps onto the hands, rubbing them together and spreading the substance onto the outer thighs.
On receiving the prescription and reading the instructions I find it's one pump per hand alternating between inner thigh and shoulder / outer arm, avoiding genitals/boobs.
I get the avoiding genitals/boobs and this isn't a criticism of the DR, she mimed how simple it was to apply not the specifics.
Does anyone know the science/ logic behind 1. alternating and 2. inner thigh over outer given that they are closer to the genitals and presumably at higher risk of transfer.
As I said, this is a simple curiosity as I can't find any explanation on the packaging or insert.
Long story short, my wife (mtf) was in America with me and was transitioning with Folx. Unfortunately our case for her citizenship got denied, she is originally from Vietnam and was forced to go back. She was unable to continue with Folx outside of America. She has since found medication, both estradiol and spiro, from small pharmacies. However, she was unable to find estradiol hemihydrate, only valerate. And the brand she got specifies to take orally, she used to take her old medication sublingually. Her levels were good at 6mg a day, and we wondering if with valerate she should increase/decrease dosage and whether or not to go oral or sublingual.
Additionally the options in Vietnam for HRT seem to be abysmal, atleast in the north. She has called every place online to no avail. Are there other options you would recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been on a microdose of Estrogel for almost a month now, one pump a day. I’m 33. I’ve also been taking dutasteride 0.5 mg three times a week for about a year. I’m doing all of this completely in secret. My wife doesn’t know and neither does anyone else in my life.
So far I’ve noticed my chest feels more sensitive and maybe a bit fuller, my skin is softer, and my hair seems less oily and is falling out less. It even looks like it’s filling in a little at the temples and crown.
Lately I’ve had this strong feeling that my butt is getting rounder. Clothes seem to fit differently back there and it just feels fuller when I sit or touch it. I’m not sure if it’s actually changing or if I’m just imagining it because I want it to happen.
Has anyone else on a low dose noticed fat redistribution in the glutes this early, around the one-month mark? How do you track it properly so you know it’s real and not just in your head? I’ve been thinking of taking measurements with a tape and comparison photos every couple of weeks.
Also, for those of you who started in secret, how long did it take before other people started noticing physical changes? I’m trying to get a realistic idea of how much time I might have before it becomes obvious to someone close to me.

Im planning on starting monotherapy with gel, and I want to maximize my chances of it working. I already know that scrotal aplication is better, and that taking a bath before also helps, but besides that I got nothing
Also im planning on applying 2 pumps (1g each) every 12h, applying one, and right after it dries applying the other, could this harm absorption? If yes, what's a good way to apply it?

Gf started prog at about 1 year on hrt for 100 days then stopped as she ran out and didn't have any money to buy more.
Planning on diy-ing prog using cocoa butter based suppositories soon and was wondering if there would be any significant breast growth after starting prog again at 2 years hrt.
Some info first i have an adenoma(whichis supposed to be inactive but it had some growth, growth maybe due to the fact that it was taken with non contrast mri we will take it again next month, my prolactin around 27 pg/ml so its prolly not prolactinoma)
Anyways i made some estrogel at home 0.2%. Ive ben using 6 mg a day. It cost me like 70 dollars for a year of gel.
My doctor told me today that estrogel is back in stock in my country(its 1.5 mg per pump. 32 pumps per bottle 0.06%. Its also 25$ per bottle.)
Doctor talkin about some “its not reliable if u make it at home blablabla” what should i do? Buying and making estro is not against the law, selling it is and i dont sell.
My levels are 1000-1400 pg/ml at like 2 hours after applying and round 150 pg/ml after 12 hours.
I also take 12 cypro every 36hrs. I was on mono but my testesterone went up to around 76 pg/ml and i started having morning erections so i started using again
What should i do?
15 transfem looking into my options regarding DIY. Im naturally drawn to gel, since I have horrendous needlephobia, and the thought of having to do bloods and injections seems incredibly awful. From what Ive heard gel is less effective, but I wanted to see you guys thoughts. I also am worried about having to potentially take antiandrogens, and Im not sure about how they would be taken, as if I would have to inject those then that sorta defeats my whole desire to do gel. Also Id have to find a way of sourcing bloods (uk) in combination with gel, but that would be true of any DIY. It seems like injections are the more common and less tedious way to do it, but I wanna fully understand my options first. So how do you think gel compares to injections and how have you found it?
