Your Top 5 Post-Reunion Songs

Curious to know what everyone's post-reunion top 5 songs are. I'd have to go with (in no particular order):

Counterfeit Sky

Long Division

Submarines

Distorted Fields

And I'm trying not fall into recency bias, but Solid State or Moonlight Understands are definitely contenders to be included.

Detroit 5/19

Saw the band last night. Can’t stop thinking about it. I was as high as a kite. It was like repeatedly waking up from a good dream only to realize I was still in the good dream. Undone is my new favorite.

Fiery Death Trap - new song with Kellii on drums

Kind of a Lennon-y space rock song. Kellii took it to another planet, naturally.

Philadelphia Underground Arts 2026-05-17 Audio up

I recorded the Philly show from this past Sunday and posted the audio here:

https://archive.org/details/failure-live-at-underground-arts-2026-05-17_20260519

From my notes:

Live recording of Failure performing at Underground Arts in Philadelphia, PA, on May 17, 2026, in support of their Location Lost album. Incredible performance, as always, and a very memorable night of hearing the new material live for the first time.

I recorded the show with a pair of Tascam field recorders. One was a DR-07 fitted on a gorilla pod mounted over my shoulder, "Predator" style, facing the band. The other was a handheld DR-05 that was aimed up, getting the mix from the PA.

It's a very drums-forward mix - I was in the second row. I forgot that the band does not use conventional amps and instead runs guitar and bass through custom boards directly into the PA. In hindsight I probably could have gotten a better mix of the instruments by standing 15-20 feet back from the center, that seems to be the sweet spot. But Kellii crushes it on drums, and that's on full display here!

Enjoy!

How Do We Feel About Them Playing The Same Set Every Night?

I went to the Philly show last night. It was a great set, but at times it felt rote, which I get after them playing the same songs for more than three weeks. I know there are pros and cons, and it's certainly a choice that they purposefully made, but how do we feel about the same set list being played every night? I know some here have gone to multiple shows on the tour.

Seems like the right place to share this.

I’ve started a new music project, Leavers, featuring Kellii on drums, doing the remote session work. Pretty much a dream come true to have a working music relationship with the drummer of one of my all time favorite bands. We just dropped the 2nd single, and I’m just wanting to genuinely share it with a group that equally loves him!

Allentown show was the best show I’ve ever experienced.

Small venue, couldn’t get more than 25 yards away from them. First time seeing them live. I was worried that it would be tough to get their signature low end sounds from a stage, but it was perfect. Played all the songs I wanted to hear. Bucket list item checked. ;)

Union Stage, Washington, DC 05/15/26

A few photos from an awesome DC gig. The crowd on Ken's side was super animated and they sounded really good. Go see this tour if you can!
