[For Sale] Bayside - self-titled - M/M - $125

[For Sale] Bayside - self-titled - M/M - $125

Bayside self-titled on black smoke with rainbow. Located in SF, Media Mail shipping to the US included in price (or local pickup).

This copy looks better than new. No nonsense. I've been doing the vinyl thing for 30 years and I've never seen a used record look so perfect in every respect. No signs of shelf or ring wear. Vinyl looks unplayed, no visible defects or warps. I have not spun it. Insert included, even the original paper sleeve is there.

A detailed photo collection is available on Imgur. Some of the corners look a little bent, but that's how the packaging is, the physical jacket isn't "normal" in its design. In real life everything is flawless, the corners are sharp. I also tried to show off the colors, the pics of sides A and B don't do it justice, it's really pretty.

I ultrasonically cleaned it today, and then put it in new Hudson Hi-Fi bag and sleeves.

I only have one sale via reddit, but you can check my Discogs profile for my 100% rating (note the same username).

tldr: if you're a listener, it's perfect. If you're a collector, it's perfect.

Need a custom suit - best options?

Never in my life have off-the-rack clothes worked on me, and body has only gotten less compliant.

Going to a wedding in September, it's cocktail attire: so there's wiggle room enough for some flair, to let my personality show through.

I think I want a mandarin collar, if that would exempt any like, classic Italian tailors...which I'd also like to hear about, tbh.

And of course, if I pay a grand for the suit I'm gonna feel bad. So who's that leave, Indochino?

Neighbor and friend has moved to hospice...said to take anything I wanted.

Our dear friend, building manager, and absolutely lovely human being Mike has left our apartment building for end-of-life senior care/hospice. It's sad and we visit him when we can and we miss him so much already.

Our merciless building owner called him Friday and told him they were emptying - aka, trashing - his entire apartment on Monday (today).

So he called his closest friend, who now has power of attorney et al., and made a list of people he wanted to go through and take anything. And Mike was a world traveler, had great taste, and stuffed so many collectibles and mementos throughout his place. It really was a temple to his life and personality.

While my wife and others handled Venetian theatre masks and all kinds of dust-collector knick knacks, I went through and got first dibs on books.

I've been working on my own collection of coffee-table, amazing art books for 25 years. Now, I might never have to buy another (except the Hi Fructose box sets, whenever new ones of them come out). I'm deeply moved by adding so much culture and knowledge to our home, and will never forget where any of them came from.

Thanks Mike, we love you!

How to Disable the AI Screen Saver option?

A few days ago an option appeared when the screen saver was up: pressing the main action button on the screensaver screen now brings up an option to switch to an AI screen saver something or other. Didn't bother with a screenshot bc if it's happening to me, it's gotta be universal.

I've spent years developing the muscle memory of "grab triangle, press OK" when the screensaver is up, and I hate all things AI, but now I keep popping into the stupid AI option.

I've looked through all the settings, googled, checked r/....can't find anyone discussing this. Can it be disabled without manipulating the device?

FWIW my Shield Pro is completely "stock," I've never fiddled with it or "sideloaded" (I don't even really know that means lol) anything. For me it's just a dumb device for watching stuff.

Yeah, I can press a different button. But there's still a thing I hate sitting there. Can this option be removed?

Witness the beauty: Marantz 2330BD

Bugged my dad for a pic of his Marantz and here it is. Ordered from the US Navy PX when his service ended in 1979, this is one of 184 of these monsters ever produced. He also sprang for the walnut case, which he thinks was optional, which would make it even more rare. He thinks he paid $450, lower than retail because the Navy Exchange is just like that.

This was the amp I grew up on. I started spinning records through this thing in maybe '92.

It was serviced for some dead lights and at one point the right channel dropped so we had that fixed, otherwise he's been cranking this thing for almost 50 years with no problems.

He says that it's mine, but we both know it won't live anywhere but his place until that day comes...so, here's hoping it's *not* mine for a real long time.

Changing tuning knobs on a 594?

I've got this here Wood Library 594, and everything about it is just right except I wish the tuning knobs weren't white. (The top is the same satin trans black as the neck and headstock, would have shared but can only post one pic, you can see it here).

Last I checked you can't replace just the knob or knob-and-peg, so I'd have to replace the entire tuner. But things change! I've googled and can't get a clear and current answer.

I don't feel like switching the OG tuners off a WL guitar, so, am I stuck with the white or are there other options?

Smashing Pumpkins - GIsh - Very first-est OG Caroline 1991

I got this copy of Gish a few years back, directly from Raymond Coffer. He was the band's manager at the time and is the first person listed in the record's "special thanks" notes. It was open but unplayed, brand-new mint inside and out. Until I got my hands on it! I never hesitate to spin it, man, that's what they're for.

So that's why I joked it's first-est. Gotta figure this was one of the first 5 or 6 they ever unpacked, maybe? Like does the provenance make you think this was an early delivery to the band, so this is actually a pre-release edition then...I'm just goofing off.

I'm both old enough now and cool enough back then that I actually heard Gish before Siamese Dream, lol. This *really* cool girl Kara had it on her Walkman and we listened together in wood shop class, then she taped it for me.

I don't really care what it is or what it's worth: it's my copy of Gish and it's got a cool backstory and that's it. Spin your records, folks!

Need an electric wheelchair, have no experience. Personalized recs?

I've been disabled for almost 9 years, a few ups but mostly downs, and I'm finally accepting that an electric wheelchair will really enhance my life, get me out more, etc. But I don't know where to start. I've had a crappy non-electric Drive chair for about 4-5 years, but it's junk and falling apart and due to disabilities I can't wheel myself around manually. Can I get some community help?

Here's what you need to know:

- I'm 6' and 275 pounds, so I need a strong chair, but am not obese (waist on my Levi's is 38), so I don't need a wider or XL option.

- I plan on using this for long days (museums, tourism) so, big/better/more batteries are welcome

- I live in downtown SF, so there are hills. I won't try any of the extreme ones, but I live on a medium one, so if it can handle my weight and the hills I'm stoked. I do see some electric chairs climbing my hill, with varying degrees of capability. And I'm heavy. So I'm worried I might be out of luck with most hills.

- Money is...not really a problem, but nobody here is rich, so, something the common person could afford would be ideal!

Thanks everyone! I'm lost looking around, having a hard time telling junk from quality, and don't wanna make a bad decision. Love to my fellow chaired people!

So I'm spinning a record and decide to get some breakfast. Found a croissant in the kitchen - cool. I bring it to where I sit, about 10-12 feet from my deck, and eat my croissant.

Ten minutes later I get up to change the record and...there's a giant flake of croissant, like a half-inch on both sides, just sitting on the deck about a half inch from the platter.

What the effing eff.

How can I beat dust when I can't even beat...bread?? Lol. I feel as if the gods of vinyl have frowned upon me today.

I've got shelf space for about 1300 records. Unfortunately I have about 1600.

We live in a 1BR apartment and my wife, who is so gracious and accommodating re: this passion of mine, has decided we have enough shelving in the house, so, no more IKEA cubes for me. I don't blame her.

Anything good for storage that isn't another shelf, that's appropriate for an adult living space, is hopefully pretty cheap, and won't fall apart with regular use?

I have some folding record storage box things I use for hauling my for-sale stuff to record fairs, I could use one or two for overflow, but then I have a big black box to try to find a place for, and I don't know how they hold up over time. Not optimal.

Any cool ideas I've missed?
