This has got to be some kind of psyop to get us to care about Harry Potter despite the harm JKR causes to transgender women.

Recently there’s been this trend spreading around the internet where people are making genderbent fanart of Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series and calling her “Malfoid”. The unironic use of “foid” was already a red flag. Many of the artists (mostly men, ofc) participating in this are making sexual fanart. Some will draw her with hyperbolic gooner proportions while others (even if they have more realistic proportions) will make the sweater and her miniskirt fold around her boobs and pelvic area to accentuate her physique. Remember, all of the students at Hogwarts are kids, and in the Deathly Hallows Harry and peers are 17-18 years old. This means that these men are slobbering over a character who is a minor.

Why do SO MANY male to female gender-bends turn the characters into porn or hentai categories? Why can’t we have a female genderbend that isn’t cooming bait? There’s a few that aren’t turning Harry x Malfoy into a hentai skit; but it’s still weird to even be participating in a trend that’s calling a female character a “foid”. I’m not posting any drawings because I don’t want to inflict any unnecessary stress on people who didn’t know about this trend before.

There have been a few posts on the “hate this mug” subreddit, but most people are just complaining that they watered down Draco’s racist, elitist, and insufferable personality so that she can be an egotistical tsundere; not realizing that the reason why some people are whitewashing Draco in the first place is exactly because of them chasing a trend to jack off to. When some people point out how goonerish he trend is, some people defend it by saying that it lead to interesting and “genuinely romantic” AUs n’ shit; but, I don’t buy it. The last image is questionable as fuck because while I know that her being incredibly bigoted is a huge part of her/his character; it still feels weird saying that alongside “I think this romantic enemies to lovers trend is cute as fuck!” If someone wants to write a complex, toxic ao3 fanfic about them then go ahead, but the level this trend is being taken is fucking weird.

The people who shipped MLM Drarry did it first. If these guys want good content, then go look at their works.

im not really interested in debating the details of the cornell 7 with men who hand waved any discussion of clancy with “she killed 3 children, end of story.” they dismissed any woman who tried to say “this is a horrible case and shouldn’t have happened, but can we please talk about better support for mothers so this doesn’t happen again?” with saying “you’re just a violent bitch like her, aren’t you?” + they got extremely pissed at any woman trying to understand the details and evidence around the case itself. if you were a woman speaking about clancy in any capacity you were met with men mocking you and saying your rights should be stripped away.
