SCENT OF THE DAY 20.08.26

SCENT OF THE DAY 20.08.26

Today, I haven’t even picked yet but i think will GIVENCHY - gentleman edt. I originally bought this thinking it was the other original edt flankers. Sith pear and pineapples. At first I was dissapointed. But now have realised this is an absolute bottle of class and a Time Machine into the time this would have been the absolute go to. It’s. A beautiful earthy masculine and very classy scent. I rate it 100% good accidental buy

Are we over gourmands yet, or is this still the direction fragrance is heading?

Looking at what’s been coming out lately, it feels like everything is falling into a few predictable categories. On one side, endless gourmands with vanilla, caramel, tonka, chocolate and other sweet notes. On the other, these increasingly dark fragrances built around oud, incense, leather and smoky notes.
And when something fresh comes along, it often feels like safe, mass-appeal, watered-down slop designed not to offend anyone.
Where are the fragrances with some actual character that sit somewhere in the middle?
Are we finally over the gourmand trend, or are we still deep in it?

Is Bujarami getting too far ahead of themselves?

I’m genuinely starting to wonder. Every single time I’ve ordered from Bujarami, there’s been some sort of delay, and I’ve never had an order actually ship within the timeframe they specify on their website.
What makes it even more frustrating is watching them constantly release new fragrances, add more inventory and push heavy marketing across social media, seemingly trying to sell as many bottles as possible, while they can’t keep up with the orders they already have.
Customer service doesn’t help either. Phone calls go unanswered and emails go unanswered, so after you’ve already spent your money, you’re basically left wondering what’s happening with your order.
The most frustrating part is seeing the owner live on TikTok promoting and selling even more bottles while existing customers are still waiting for theirs to be fulfilled.
I understand delays happen, especially with a growing business. But if you’re consistently unable to meet your own stated shipping timeframes, maybe it’s time to slow down the releases and marketing until you can actually keep up with the demand.
Anyone else experiencing the same thing with Bujarami?

Wtf is Aussie frag lounge

Saw a post from someone calling out a seller and the admin commented in reply to the Asian seller

“and you live in australian and take advantage of our countries customs yet you want to operate like a communist tyrant by trying to determine what others do with product they have bought off you?”

What is the frag community coming to?

Peony Melbourne - one of the worst customer service I've experienced

Went to Peony Melbourne to buy Marc-Antoine Barrois Tilia as a birthday gift for myself. It's the only store that had it in stock so had to go there physically to try it first before buying it.

However, the whole experience was completely ruined by the lady who works there. Rude, judgmental, and overall not a good customer service. Everything I did from spraying to tester strips to smelling fragrances, she was keeping an eye on me. Was even told I was doing it incorrectly and to let her spray all the ones I want moving forward.

Did end up buying Tilia as I loved it but will not be going back there because of her. Compared to Libertine Parfumerie and Connection Parfumerie who had excellent customer service, Peony Melbourne is the complete opposite.

Should have read the reviews on Google as well before going so that my expectations for a great customer service would have been dialled down a bit.

Bit of a throwback today, it still holds up well in the colder weather. Masculine vanilla, cinnamon, warm spices and woods.

What are you wearing today?

Shout-out to Sweet Fern

Following the post on the bad customer service at Peony Melbourne, I just wanted to give a shout out to Sweet Fern for having the best customer service ever. The perfume I ordered was neatly wrapped with a personal note and three samples even though I just requested for one. They have a great collection of niche perfumes and I love to navigate their website. That's all. Happy sniffing.

Chemist warehouse sale

Hey guys, pretty new to the fragrance world. I’ve bought a few over the last few months a mix of genuine and dupe. With the chemist warehouse sale ending today I’m keen to grab a couple more, I’ve already grabbed a bottle of Guess iconic Blue. What suggestions are there for a mid 40s guy looking for something for everyday wear. I was thinking of grabbing the Versace Dylan Blue and wanted to check out a few others.

Happy Monday!!!

Wearing one of my favourites today, love it so much I picked up another bottle over the weekend for $80, really love the darker vanilla and ginger combo, gives you something a bit different to the usual vanilla bombs.

What are you guys wearing?

Hybrid SOTD and mini review of some Pineward prototypes - Today’s sample is Riparian which is a beautiful cold and airy light green. Would be great in the warmer months as it has a dewy petrichor accord and a light mossy finish.
Really hope this one gets a full release as it’d definitely be a purchase for me.

Second favourite was Rivendale, a light fruity ( rhubarb) and pine. Slightly resinous without going too far into dark pitch territory and there’s a slight earthiness maybe from the fall leaves note.

Haven’t mentioned the other 4 samples as they’ve only been given a cursory sniff and only the above 2 really stood out.

Pretty sure the whole collection of 6 is aimed towards Summer as they’re all on the lighter side with green elements.

Newest pick ups🔥

GIVENCHY - GENTLEMAN EDT: a beautiful old school iris with pear and pineapple. The fruit gives it this sweet take on that classic iris ‘. The patchouli and leather help keep it grounded and earthy, I also like the “old schoolness” of this scent

RABANNE - PHANTOM IN RED: okaaay so I know lot of you will give me hate for this lol. But. FUCK. This. smells. GOOD. Saffron, bergamot, plum liqueur, lavender, orange blossom, sage, amber wood, tobacco and OUD. that is a line a up. And I’m so happy that it smells the way that it does. Perfect mass appealing scent that you could wear in a cold night out 😙 I originally wanted 1 million elixir. But I feel this may be better.

What are your thoughts on both?

Love, don't be shy

Hi all! I absolutely love the way this fragrance settles on my skin, but don't love the opening, for some reason it smells a bit like cat pee to me ahah, I was wondering if anyone else gets that smell or if it's a me problem? Does anyone have any recommendations for a scent that has the same mashmallow-y smell but without the "tangy" opening for lack of a better word lol. Idk if it's worth buying the big bottle, just for the sake of the dry down smell, because, again, I absolutely love it ahah. I'd love any recommendations, or insight into whether other people get an astringent smell from this fragrance? Thank you 😊

I don’t much watch YouTube any more but I have a new favourite.

https://youtu.be/-KXAkUw9iu0?si=JLSjj9KrBtZYQ-tf

Eccentric, a real turn of phrase and she tries everything on skin which I really rate. She convinced me to wear this extraordinary Ambergris centred fragrance today. Incredibly cozy, slightly minty? And also pervasive on the skin over many hours. You can keep Samsara, I’m v much preferring MXXX.
