First 3 are official pics. Mine is the last 2. I'm satisified with everything except the swimsuit, it's looks strangely transparent unless under strong light.
I would like to paint over with a coat of white paint. Also, I would like to make it shiny like a wet swimsuit, what type of paint can work to get the sheen?
Personally I like the version with the modern one more! I did one version with the ink on her leg and one without. The originals wood base was slightly damaged, so I did this optional one.
I actually forgot to attach the ribbon at the front of her kimono for the modern version... I am too lazy to do pictures again...
Silly me ruined both decals for the flower part on her kimono (the red part), so I had to go with what I was able to rescue, otherwise the kimono would look slightly better probably.
I am nearly crying... I am not allowed to show this in the BA sub, in the AnimeFigure sub it got also deleted...
Hi everyone!
This is my first post here. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to share my first project.
This is a resin-printed and hand-painted statue of Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect (Model by Bulkamancer).
This was my first resin print, and I made a rookie mistake. I left the parts under the UV light for too long after printing, which made the resin extremely brittle. A few pieces broke during assembly, so I had to repair them and repaint the damaged areas. 😅
Lesson learned: I'd much rather slightly under-cure a print than over-cure it.
I'd love to hear your feedback:
What stands out the most? Is there anything you would paint differently?
Thanks for looking!
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a subject for my next 3D print, but I'm not very knowledgeable about the subject, and there aren't many ways to search for it.
Specifically, I'd like to print a female subject, cyberpunk/cyberrealism style, with porcelain-colored skin, sexy/sensual but not naked, with partial metal components (like prosthetics) or simple details (or even with vehicles like motorcycles or robots on the side), and latex-style or paint/leather clothing.
If you have any models or artists you can recommend, even better; otherwise, I'll settle for simple names, and then I'll see what I can find.
Below, I've attached a few photos to give you a better understanding of what I'm looking for. Some photos don't fully reflect the description, but only partial ones (for example, Sailor Moon for the realistic facial design).
I'm also well aware that the real difference is made by the subject renderings, but they help me a lot, both in terms of creation and understanding. I could have a cartoonish base and paint it with realistic features, but I'm not good enough to work without references.
So, subjects rendered with desaturated colors (like Kazhov's Lenora Queen of Crows) would also be very interesting to reproduce, as long as they're consistent with the initial description.
Edit: I forgot to say that I am looking for models whose resolution is well suited for 1:4 / 1:6 scale prints
Thanks for your time!
I did my best with the fishnets but I would like to never manually do those again :D.
あなた、ただいま~。今夜何が食べたい?今から作ってあげるね!
Honey, Im back. What do you want to eat tonight? I'll cook it right now.
Newest finished commission. Total time was 35 hours.
Oh boy this kit... All of the pain was in assembly. The skirt was made up of 6 individual parts, halves for each layer. All of them were solid and got increasingly heavier the farther down. The keys for holding them were incredibly skinny at the top pieces, so pinning just barely worked. Everything was glued at the end and I used some polyester putty to help remove any gaps/seams.
The hair was done using only nail foils and holographic powder for coloring. I used UV resin to stick the foils to the parts, cured it then layered everything in a gloss afterwards. It's all glued to their head since there was no keys.
Lots of pearls were on the original sample but the kit didn't come with any. I 3D printed the large ones (easier than buying a bag of 10k that I'd never use) and painted them, the smaller half pearls were from nail art decorations.
Everything had a layer of pearl except the eyes. Since this kit is primarily one color with little shading, I used a mix between Gaia's Premium Glass Pearl, Mr. Crystal Color Moonstone Pearl, and Gaia's Pearl Silver to create variation in the pieces. Even the "skin" parts had pearl underneath the matte layer.
[I’m honestly trying to get remake my money to buy some books ^ ^]
As the post says, I’ve got a layover in Tokyo and want to grab some GK’s whilst I’m there and wanted to know what options there were for getting them!
Thanks in advance!
Finished a couple days ago. The kit is 3D printed in white/clear resin, thankfully everything was solid and fairly good quality. Ukiwa definitely knows how to print a kit properly.
The base is custom made, sculpted in zBrush and printed out myself. Both faces were hand painted since the decals didn't have white backing. Completion time was 29 hours.
Remember when I asked you guys if it was possible to repaint this figure? I did it! I'm really happy I did so. It's my first time doing something like this, and I'm honestly really proud of myself. 🥹 Let me know what you guys think. I know it's not a GK, but I still wanted to share.
For anyone else wanting to do this;
I used water based acrylic paint and watered it down. I just used a regular paint brush.
To shade the legs, I just used some oil pastels, and shaded with that. Nothing too complicated! (^^)
(I did not take her body apart. I just took her off the base. I didn't want to risk actually breaking something ( ꈨຶ ˙̫̮ ꈨຶ )
Approximately 50 hours of build & paint. I have a nearly 18 minute long YouTube video as well of how I made it. It’s my first full length video. I hope you like it
Hello! I’m looking for someone to paint my behelit, it’s a polyurethane resin garage kit. Im looking for someone who is able to make realistic looking eyes. I’m open to people who either only paint or both paint and assemble.
Just finished this ginormous bust using the tutorial by Marc Masclans as a guide. The size and unwieldiness adds to the challenge but I’m pretty satisfied with the result.
I’ve just purchased my second garage kit and I would like to use an air brush to do this instead of hand painting
What is a good beginner airbrush?? I don’t want to spend a fortune but don’t want something super low quality either so I’m looking for something in between
