Adjusting to house move

Adjusting to house move

It’s been a week today since myself and my nearly 6 month old Green Cheek moved from our busy family home with my mum and sister to our own apartment. He’s having a hard time and is constantly shouting for me. I’m not sure if he’s missing my mum or sister or just wants me nearby at all times but I just don’t know how to help him. He’s sleeping, eating and drinking all okay but the shouting is pretty constant and exhausting. Help please

I don’t know what to do with my Conure.

Hi all this is a post that i dread to write but it’s getting bad now. My Green Cheek Conure Mango he is over a year old and i’m his favourite person he just tolerates my partner and likes my grandmother but anyone else he bites/lounges at. Recently he has now started doing that to me i’ve not changed anything food/routine, he is now flying from object to object to get to me i’m heart broken he is my child literally i’ve spent hundreds on his making sure he has the best care at all time. I’ve sobbed for days thinking the thought of getting rid of him!!

Me and my partner have discussed what are the next options as he has now been like this for over a week i don’t want to get rid of him but he is biting my face/hands marking me hanging off any finger he can get too. What do i do????

What does his body language and sound mean?

Hi! I am pretty new to the world of GCC’s as I always had budgies. So I am still a bit new in knowing what certain sounds or body language mean. Can someone help me out with what is going on here? He is still young, 3,5 months.

I have already tried to search body language videos on youtube, only its still hard as they are all such individuals.

My bird will cuddle with me, let me preen him, and will preen me back, but won’t step up or eat from my hand.

I need some advice on getting him more comfortable with my hands, we’re having a bit of trouble with it. I’ve pet and preened him, but I cannot seem to persuade him to get on my hand or to even eat it. I’ve tried getting him sunflower seeds, pistachios, almonds, and millet. None have worked. Let me know some tips and tricks to help.

My sweet sleepy babies

My babies Malorie and Mickey. They recently learned about the bathroom sink. After a long morning of showering playing and preening they are resting on their new favorite perch.

After their first visit to the avian vet, it's official!

After all the waiting, we finally got the DNA sex testing done and our little Turkey is a girl! The little agent of chaos, full of sass, is a girl. So now we have to take precautions that her boyfriend doesn't get her to start laying, the vet says she has a mild calcium deficiency (low normal levels), so eggs are a big no no!

reassure me about moving/ cage questions

Hey guys! So i’m moving 1300 miles away with my green cheek conure and I am so so anxious for her. My big big question is her cage, I’m scared of how she is going to adjust to the big change of moving, a long car ride, not seeing her usual people etc but her cage is going to be a huge issue with moving. It doesn’t break down easy and it is kind of being held together with some creative fixes on our part already 😅 I just worry about a new cage being ANOTHER big life change that will be too much for her to handle on top of everything else. Please give me your honest opinions and tell me if i’m being ridiculous. (Also any tips for moving with a bird would be incredibly appreciated)

Biting Pineapple Conure - advice needed

My son and I got a young Pineapple Conure in January of this year. She seems to love our company and always wants to come out and be with us. But she bites - and hard! If she is on our shoulder, she starts nibbling the ear and then bites hard! She hates our hands and doesn’t like to be touched. She always tries to chew on fingernails and she also bites the skin in what starts as little nibbles but gets harder and painful. We have tried to teach her hands are safe by using some treats she enjoys like sunflower seeds and dried fruits and baby spinach which she loves. But nothing seems to be working and I’m feeling at a complete loss! Please any helpful ideas and advice welcome.
