Will drivers usually accept a toddler without a baby seat?

I’m currently in Guangzhou for a bit, traveling with friends. Sometimes they just want to stay in and chill, but I’m always down to head out, grab a few beers, and explore the nightlife.
I’ve always loved the idea of meeting new people and sharing a drink with strangers while traveling, but I’m trying to figure out the best way to do it here. Apps like Tinder or Bumble BFF seem pretty quiet, and I know the digital ecosystem in China is a bit different.
For those who live here or travel often: what are your best tips for finding people to grab a drink with on short notice?
Are there specific active communities, forums, or platforms I should look into?
Any particular bars or spots in areas like Zhujiang New Town or Party Pier where the vibe is social enough that it’s easy to strike up a conversation at the counter?
How do you usually get into those famous local WeChat groups for expats/nightlife?

Hi, coming to Guangzhou for a week at the start of June, then Borneo, then back to China and Tibet. I have a 249g drone. I know this will be OK in malaysia, but will i get it through customs un GZ? Or can anyone here help with registration as I think I need a Chinese sim card to do it.

It's my first time going to China and I'll be in Foshan. I'm not sure if I should stay in Chancheng district or Shunde. I only speak Cantonese so I'm leaning towards Shunde and I'm moreso there for the food. Or does it not matter, and central Foshan is easily reached by the metro to Shunde ?

I’m flying from Astana to Singapore (China Southern Airline) with a 1.5-hour layover in Guangzhou. Do you think that’s enough time to get through the necessary security/passport checks and make my connecting flight?

I'm a native Swiss but lived and grew up in the US since the age of 6 until 20 so perfectly bilingual in English and French with perfect accents as well(American Native level). I have about 4 years in marketing experience and 2 years in BLS training but no real experience in teaching but I'll be completing my TEFL soon. I'm doing an interview this week for a teaching job in Zhengzhou (what I heard isnt the best city to live in: boring and polluted) but I have my eyes set on Guangzhou.

Hey guys, I'm going to GZ for a short business trip this week. Staying near the Baiyun airport and first time in China. I won't have a lot of time but I'll be free at night after my business meetings.

Any recommendations for activities nearby? I'm looking to perhaps buy some souvenirs and clothes. Maybe a camera (point and shoot).

Also, if you guys know of any outcall massages, please let me know as well. I'm not keen on going to massage places, I'd prefer to call them in.

I make 2 or 3 meals a day like that, just protein (fish, chicken, pork, duck, beef) with rice and vegetables / salad. Where can I find this in Gz?

Is there a particular place/area that has lots of optical stores? I got the frames but I just need them reglazed ( I have my prescription on me ) but I’m due an eye test soon anyway so may just do that whilst I’m at it too.

ultimately I already have the frames so not looking for a whole package deal so to speak.
