Did anyone else feel like it was out of character for Spencer to forbid Carly and her friends to go to the MMA fight?

In the episode, "iLook Alike", Carly, Sam, and Freddy get invited to interview the MMA fighter, Jackson Colt, backstage at an MMA fight. However, Freddy's mom doesn't let him go, which is pretty predictable because her whole persona is the archetypical overprotective mother. But when, Carly asks Spencer to talk to Mrs. Benson to try change her mind, Spencer actually agrees with Mrs. Benson, saying he also doesn't want Carly going to the fight.

I'm not trying to argue that Spencer was wrong to not let them go. And I actually think it was good that there was an episode that showed that he is capable of being a responsible guardian where it's not the main focus of the episode (e.g. "iWant To Stay With Spencer").

However, I did think it seemed out of character for Spencer. Plus, going backstage to an MMA fight and interviewing an A(or at least B)-list celebrity would have been great publicity for their web show! If Spencer was so concerned for their safety, why did he not just offer to go with them as a chaperone to make sure nothing bad happened?

All in all, I did not like this episode for a few reasons. The main one being that it was one of the few times where Spencer was shown that he is capable of being a responsible guardian and he gets physically assaulted for it. Also, if Jackson Colt was such a massive iCarly fan as he had claimed, how the hell did he not recognize who Spencer was? Especially considering that Spencer had appeared on the show multiple times by this point. The fact that Jackson knew about the haunted bra and "random dancing", but didn't recognize Spencer was a major plot hole for me. In addition, if Freddy filmed Spencer getting assaulted, Jackson would've easily been charged with assault and battery (though, maybe this happened off-screen), and put behind bars.

So what does everyone else think? I thought it was weird that out of all times for Spencer to prove himself as a responsible guardian, he chose NOW.

Side note: When Mrs. Benson told Freddy that he couldn't go to the fight, and then Carter Ford shows up and assaults them with a basketball, if I were Mrs. Benson, that would've convinced me to let him go! I would say, "On second thought, go to that fight, and then start learning MMA! Then if that asshole comes to bully you again, you'll be prepared!"

Anyone find Sam and Freddie's interactions in iBalls to be surprisingly a bit wholesome?

We all know how Sam and Freddie have always had a "frenemy" style dynamic, with the Seddie arc in early season 5 (or season 4 if you consider seasons 2-3 a single season) highlighting the worst of their dynamic to the point where they can't go two seconds without needing Carly to mediate their arguments as a couple.

However, one episode in the same season, iBalls does give a nicer side to Sam and Freddie. With Carly spending most of the episode absent, it is wholesome how Sam and Freddie genuinely do get along well despite Carly not being around. With Sam trying to be supportive of Freddie there with letting him try his robot sketch (despite thinking it was a bad idea from the get go) and encouraging him to try another approach for the webshow by using his technical strengths to do something fun with 3D effects.

Considering how often episodes before had Sam and Freddie butt heads and needing Carly to mediate, it is wholesome to see a time where both genuinely do get along well without Carly being there (whether one wants to also interpret it as Sam trying to soften up and be a better friend to Freddie after their brief relationship is up to you).

A weird memory I have about iCarly.

"()" Means I'm uncertain about the information.

Note: this isn't some creepypasta or troll post, and I'm sorry if this don't fit the sub. I just really want to answers.

Every once in a while, I remember something really, really weird that has to do with this show. I don't know if this was a dream or some behind the scenes video, if it is a behind the scenes video, I can't, and don't really want to find it. And if it was a dream, it was an incredibly odd one. I was also like twelve or thirteen when the show came out, and probably a year older when this memory happened.

So. what I remember is Freddie's mom (Facing away from the camera, is at a (green) door), she opens it and sees a small yellowish green room with doll heads all over the walls. Freddie's mom looks horrified, (Not like the character is scared, but like she, the actress is scared.) and turns to the camera and runs away.

And that's it... I don't know where the hell, why the hell, or god forbid WHO the hell could have made this if it's real. Knowing what we know now... I don't even want to think about it. I'm just telling myself it was a dream, but I just want to be sure.

Why did icarly have to end?? Genuinely miss it so much!!

Hello, I’m 19 years old, and I grew up watching iCarly (2007–2012) when I was younger. I’ve been thinking about what happened to the original iCarly era and that feeling of watching the show when it was such a big part of everyday life, especially seeing Carly, Sam, Freddie, Spencer, Gibby, and the rest of the characters together with the original cast, the hilarious storytelling, the unforgettable jokes, the web-show adventures, and the distinctive atmosphere that made the series feel so special.

Now that the original iCarly era has ended, the era that many people grew up with feels like it has passed. The stories, the atmosphere, the people who worked on the show, and the feeling surrounding the series have all moved forward. Many of the creators, writers, directors, crew members, and actors have gone on to different projects and different parts of their lives away from the original series. It feels strange because I grew up with this show, and now everything has just… changed and moved on.

I remember watching iCarly when I was younger, and everything felt so simple. I could just sit down and enjoy Carly, Sam, Freddie, Spencer, Gibby, and the rest of the characters without thinking about anything else. Back then, it felt like the show would always be there, and I don’t understand why they couldn’t just keep making new iCarly episodes forever or why the original series eventually had to stop and move on.

I also wonder why watching iCarly now doesn’t feel exactly the same anymore. The episodes are still the same, but the feeling is different. It feels like something is missing, almost like the show feels unfamiliar even though I remember it so clearly.

Why do television series like iCarly eventually come to an end? If people loved them for years, why can’t they just continue forever with the same feeling? Why do the people who make them have to move on, and why do audiences grow up and stop experiencing things the same way?

It feels strange knowing that the original iCarly era I grew up with is over, that the world has moved on, and that chapter feels closed, even though it once felt like it would always be there.

Maybe that is part of what makes the show so meaningful. It did not have to last forever for the memories to last. The episodes remained the same, but I changed. The world around me changed. The people who made the show moved on to other things, and the time in my life when I watched iCarly without worrying about growing up eventually became part of the past.

I suppose that is why it can feel so strange to return to iCarly years later. I’m not only watching Carly, Sam, Freddie, Spencer, Gibby, and the others again. I’m also remembering the person I was when I first watched them. The episodes can bring that feeling back for a moment, but they cannot completely recreate the time and place in which those memories were originally made.

The original iCarly era may be over, and there may never be another show that feels exactly like the original. But that does not mean the era disappeared completely. It still exists in the memories of everyone who grew up with the show. The episodes ended, but the part of childhood they represent does not have to disappear with them.

Carly’s birthday mistake in the revival

Honestly no hate to the writers of the revival but did they rewatch the OG Icarly before actually writing the scrips and stuff? Why is her birthday July 24th? When in the OG Icarly clearly it couldn’t have been. They were in school at the time of her birthday and in season one she said her zodiac sign which means her birthday is around December-January or somewhere along the first 3 months of the year but definitely nowhere near July

I made a horrifying realization

iMeet Fred kickstarted Lucas Cruikshanks awful career at Nick.

Let's face it, 3 bad movies, a terrible show, and another show thats not Fred, but it was awful all happened because of a crappy episode. (The Spencer subplot was the best part of the episode though)

I genuinenly feel like Lucas was the most failed Nick star

Fun Fact: I personally love the videos Lucas makes on his own channel

If Colonel Shay had been contacted in the episode “IWant to Stay with Spencer”, whose side do you think he would have taken? His father’s or Spencer and Carley’s

Obviously he likely wasn’t called as he was both busy with operations and also there‘d be no conflict, but if he was, who would he side with upon hearing granddad shay’s concerns And about what happened.

would he tell his dad and say “dad look, I know what happened was terrifying and Spencer is very…eccentric, but he’s my son, and I raised him to be a good person. tell me up until this point, has anything really bad happened under his watch in the years I have been gone? No. I think Spencer is mature enough to realize he made a horrible mistake and will not let it happen again“

or

”Spencer, I love you son….but your granddad might be right. your a great brother to Carley, one of the best any girl could ask for…but as a guardian, you clearly aren’t mature enough. I’m sorry, but I think it is safer if Carley goes to live with your grandad until I return home“

the move to yakima vs the move to italy

(First time poster so hiii)

Hey so I’m wondering what you guys think of both situations. I feel like it’s a little odd, rewatching the show and realizing that it was a huge issue to leave everyone behind to move to Yakima but it wasn’t an issue to go with her father to Italy at the show finale. Maybe it’s all because of the fact she had to move with her grandpa or maybe because of the age of Carly but I always felt like it was weird how differently the situations were handled. Let me know your thoughts c:
