Upgraded to an Iphone
Long-time Android user, finally giving iPhone a try
Any tips for a first-time Apple user? Is AppleCare+ worth it? Also looking for good case/privacy screen protector recommendations, useful settings, apps, and iCloud tips.

I got the 12 when it came out because the color was so beautiful. Bought that one from my own money when I was a student. This is my second one from my own grown up money. iPhones are so good that I truly never felt the need to upgrade but my 12 was dying. lol.
How does it look? Any suggestions for a better option?
I was sitting in a friend's garage. I remember taking off the case and attaching the phone to a magnetic holder on the table. About 10 minutes later, it popped off. Apparently, the magnet on the stand wasn't strong enough. It fell from a height of about 70-80 cm. The floor was hard, but it was linoleum. It landed on its back. I tried to pick it up, but no, it's all intact. The only thing is, there's a tiny white dot on the back glass. It's not a chip, just a pinpoint-thick spot, visible only in certain light if you look closely. Could you please tell me if I've already gotten away with it? It's probably okay, so I should just forget about it?
My phone is a month old, and everything's working fine so far.
The case is also a nice accessory. I'm considering getting a Pitaka, I like the look of it.
I had iphone xr for the longest time, no issue BUT WHY WHEN I DECIDED TO UPGRADE TO IP17 LAST MONTH, just why it does get hot quickly and battery drains fast while i browse on social media, especially when im listening to music like 10 minutes of listening my battery drained from 75 to 63 crazy,, i dont use my phone much maybe 5 hours max with interval throughout the day, i dont use youtube music that much either, 1 hour max probably. Help me what to do, i just want to return this phone i hate it
I’ve just bought a screen protector that came in a set of 4, put it on perfectly, and ended up with a horrendous halo air bubble all around the 4 edges. I tried a second one, as I blamed it on my application and the screen protector itself, same exact issue. Tried to get rid of it with a card and a cloth but nothing worked. I googled it to see if anyone has had any issues and found out that apparently it is VERY common with the 17s. The insanely weird thing is that I already had a screen protector on it and it did not have this issue, but I will not blame the ones I bought because I’ve seen multiple posts and comments on this sub.
I saw a few people recommend putting some olive oil around the edges to get it to stick to the phone but I don’t feel comfortable doing that on my iPhone.
Apple please get your shit together because this is insane, I can’t even just buy a screen protector and put it on now?? and respectfully I’m not going to raw dog a €1000 phone, falls are inevitable and I’m terrified of cracking the screen.
I have been using iPhone for 18 years and never think about switching to others, however one of the change I didn’t like was cancelling SIM card and moving to all e-sim. My solution to that was getting a brand new iPhone 17 from Hong Kong when I travelled there last month. It does have the actual SIM card slot and I can also use e-sim as well! My problem got solved! Hope it can helps others who need to use physical SIM card
My phone keeps getting super warm to the touch (36–37°C internally), especially from 50–70 on a 20 w(h)att 🧱 or using apps like Zoom and Domino’s. It doesn’t happen every** **single time, but occasionally it gets to that "can't even hold it" level of hot. Mind you, the “your phone is warm” warning never showed up it just genuinely feels super warm to the touch also discharges much faster during that period.
Anyone else experiencing this weird inconsistency on this update?
I saw lot of reddit comments saying that iphone 17 has battery draining issues and heating too much, are they true ?I'm considering iphone 17 for photography and some youtube video/instagram/what's app and codm is the only game I play and that too rarely
Hi guys! I updated my iphone 17 to ios 26.6.1 and I noticed that my phone battery drains faster. Do you also have the same experience with me with ios 26.6.1?
Interested to know that why lot of people are jumping to iphone 17p?
Is it because of 3 cameras and pro has better impression over base one?
They really looking to use those 2-3 advanced features which generally most of us wont use actually?
Or something else?

Just bought my first I phone . I am very satisfied with its performance till now a lot better than my last android
The upgrade was phenomenal!!! Still keeping my xr for my second phone because i love it to the oblivion. Imo the liquid glass in 17 was looking fantastic, the screen was snappy and bright, and while i prefer the camera in xr, i love the lansdcape potrait change in 17! Will rocking this phone for another 7-10 years🤩
I have set the charging limit on my iPhone 17 to 80%. Initially, the phone would take around 44–50 minutes to charge up to 80%, and then it would stop charging as expected.
However, recently I have noticed that the phone sometimes charges beyond the 80% limit. In some cases, it stops at 80%, but after I restart the phone, the battery percentage suddenly shows more than 80%.
I’m currently running iOS 26. Is this a bug or a normal behavior with the 80% charging limit? Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
iPhone 17 Charging Past 80% Limit on iOS 26 — Anyone Else Experiencing This?
I’ve seen a lot of comments praising the iOS 27 beta updates in comparison to iOS 26 stable updates.
What’s your experience about it?
Like what major changes did you feel?
Is it really worth the hype?
Hi everyone. I recently bought an iPhone 17 and I wanna check if it’s new or not. it has a small defect on the backside. as you can see in the pictures, in between the glass and the frame from the backside there is a small gap. thin paper or plastic can fit in it, and move. small dirt also gets stuck there. but also the apple website shows the activation fate correctly and the warranty is 1 year. diagnostics mode in ios showed no problem, and i never noticed any problem while using the phone. so it 100% wasnt repaired or used. im worried about the back glass being replaced, because if it is, the water resistance is void now probably. please tell me if you think i should return it? thank you
Loving this phone so much more 💞
After using a Xiaomi 15 for a year, my partner gave me an iPhone 17 as a birthday gift. It was such a pleasant surprise! I snapped a photo of it alongside the little pig plushie—also a gift from my partner.
I’m really happy with it; the last two photos are just some casual shots I took. The colors look incredibly true-to-life and crisp.
Is anyone else here in the same boat—having just switched over from Android? Any tips or tricks for using the iPhone that you’d recommend?
This iPhone 17 is my first iPhone ever and I am loving it so far. I have always kept on the haptics and typing sound on every phone that I ever used and I did the same on my iPhone.
However, the typing sound seems very inconsistent on this phone. Sometimes it becomes loud and crisp, just how I like, sometimes it just sounds too mute and barely audible. When I get a notification while I am typing something, it automatically raises its volume and becomes mute again after some point. The haptics work as they should but the typing sound just feels too inconsistent. Can it be fixed or is just a software bug?
