Dented iPhone 17 on day 1

Dropped from pocket while sitting in a chair, on a hard marble floor.

Huge pockets, made specially to carry phones. Still slipped.

Dent on left bottom corner(small). Aluminium frame

Waiting for my case to arrive tomorrow.

This thing is fragile AF.

For gadgets coming at this price, they should be as hard as a rock.

Bought: 1:00pm. Dropped: 7:00pm. Same day.

Apple care + present, ik no relevance here, but still adding this info. (Does accidental damage protection apply here? Lol, but seriously?)

Can’t get out of the bed with this device without a case on!!!!

What can I do? Should I do anything? Or just accept it?

Has anyone dealt with this with Apple/AppleCare+ before? I genuinely don’t know if I’m overthinking this anymore 😭

I got a new iPhone 17 recently through Verizon and started noticing random glitches. The screen would sometimes bounce up and down/flashing when opening certain iMessage conversations and it also happened on Facebook occasionally. At first I thought maybe it was just because one specific conversation had a lot of pictures/gifs, but then it happened in other apps too.

I took it to Apple and the phone passed all diagnostics. They basically told me they didn’t know what else to do and replaced the display. The issue STILL happened after that. I even restored the phone as new (not from backup) and it still happened.
I contacted Apple Support again and eventually got escalated to a senior advisor. At one point they told me I’d be able to get a replacement at the Apple Store, so I drove an hour with my 2 kids under 2 just for the store to refuse and basically tell me to get AppleCare+ if I wanted a replacement option. I left super frustrated.

Then Apple Support on the phone told me if I got AppleCare+ they could do an Express Replacement where they mail me another phone and I send mine back.

My husband thinks I should just go with Apple because their replacement phones are heavily tested and probably fine, but my mother-in-law keeps saying she’d rather I get a completely brand new sealed phone because “what if the refurbished one was someone else’s problem phone too.” 😭
I also feel conflicted because my current phone is literally only 3 weeks old. Part of me feels weird replacing such a new phone for a replacement device that could technically be older or previously used by someone else already. I know Apple tests them, but mentally it’s hard not to feel like I’d be “downgrading” in a way even if the replacement works perfectly.

Would you guys trust the Apple replacement device? Has anyone had good experiences with Apple replacement phones?

Will the iPhone 17 reduce in price in September?

Currently I'm on an base iPhone 13 and am looking to upgrade to the base 17 soon. I hear reports that say that the base iPhone 18 will not be released until the spring of next year so I'm wondering whether that would affect the typical £100 drop in price in September for iPhones.

My 13 can last for another 5-6 months and honestly, I would rather pay £699 than £799.

I’m blown away how good the speaker performs

I usually listen to music with wired earphones. Then I accidentally pulled out the plug while lying on my bed with the phone on my chest. I hit play and holy shiz!!! The stereo on this phone??? It so… I dont know how to put it, dynamic? I can hear distinct separations of background vocals, instruments etc. Have you noticed it too?

Am I the only one iPhone 17PM to regular 17?

I was within my return window and didn’t like the bulkiness of the 17PM. Was in a tax free state so picked up the base 17 for $799 total? ($500 cheaper than the 17PM w tax!) so far so good? Anyone else do similar?
Case: anyone recommend a nice case for this 17?

64 GB 11 pro to 256 GB 17 pro or 512 GB?

I've been using my 64 GB 11 pro for six years and am just now running into storage problems. I take a lot of kid photos and occasional videos and use basic social media apps and stream music. I also use cloud storage. It seems like 256 GB should be more than enough for me, but I'm worried that, given that apps and data and photos all seem to require more storage, I won't be able to make this one last as long. On the flip side, I don't want to pay for something I don't need. Any thoughts on this? Am I way overthinking?

Switching from Android to 17. Any tips & tricks?

I am switching from Motorola G52 to iOS and this is the very first time. I'm excited but also a bit sceptical considering how people say they have a bit of a hard time switching from Android to iOS. Any tips and tricks you know to help me in a smooth transition?

how long do you think the iphone 17 can last? and what tips and overall anything can you give for it?

So I recently got the iphone 17 and am trying to use it as long as I can.
I had an iphone 6s plus since like 2019 so this is a very huge update for me and honestly if it werent for the fact half the apps were not opening or I cant dowland them and the fact the phone was lagging as hell and had to restart it every 2 days I wouldnt have changed. I do plan on using the new phone till it gives up tbh but given the fact that this is a huge update for me I dont know anything on the phone like it took me over 10 minutes to realize how you can change the wallpaper and the camera is so wow am gonna say I can see my pores but why the fuck is the storage already over 52GB?! I didnt even switch anything from my old phone so am confused about that as well and was shocked that theres no touch id or sim card slot and was also shocked there was a charger tbh

Switching to iPhone soon

I'm torn between the Lavender iPhone 17 and the Mist Blue iPhone 17. I saw them in person to help with my decision and the Lavender surprised me in how light it was from everything I've seen online. I was so sure that was the color from the posts and videos about them but now I'm torn 😵‍💫

This will be my long term phone for the next 5+ years so I don't want to have one I hate the color of. (It matters even if I cover it up with a case, my OCD wouldn't quit bugging me if I do that 😅)

For those who had to choose between two colors, how'd you make up your mind? Do you regret your pick?

Switching from Android (Vivo T3) to iPhone 17 next week — what should I know before making the move? 👀

Planning to buy an iPhone 17 next week.

Currently using a Vivo T3 and thinking of switching to Apple for the first time.

People who already bought the 17 — what issues have you faced so far? Battery, heating, camera, bugs, charging, anything?

Also, what all should I prepare before moving from Android to iPhone?

How to transfer WhatsApp chats properly?

Google Photos vs iCloud — which is better?

Any problems with file sharing from Windows/Android after switching?

Is Move to iOS app reliable?

Anything important I should backup before changing?

Apps or features you miss after leaving Android?

And which colour looks the best in real life? I’m confused between White and Black 😅

White looks super clean and premium to me, but Black also looks classy sometimes.

Would love to hear your experiences, tips, regrets, and recommendations before I switch.

Experience of iphone 17 after 1.5 months

I am a first time iphone user, I bought my iphone 17 during Easter in newzealand, with big dream and saving up for it, now I am using it in India, by far my experience is strange as I don't know what's the battery life in iphone, quality of photos and videos, stuff like that, so after 1.5 month approx i am not sure how long it's been exactly but I think it's about that, I am seeing crazy draining of battery while using camera or taking video, imagine I just opened camera at 80percent within 2 or 3 mins it came to 78, then after the update I see strange bug such as siri not able to respond to my commands, one side of my speaker not working stuff like that, so if you guys know anything that could help me with this would be great, I keep reading post of people about indexing and stuff, also my battery health is 100% after 33cycles, but not going to lie, switching from a 200dollar android phone to iphone is a whole different experience. At some point I am still using my second phone sometimes and scrolling or even typing from it is frustrating as it lags and hangs a lot and when you use iphone back and forth.

iPhone 17 minor scrolling stutters on iOS 26 - software bug or just me?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been noticing some annoying minor stuttering and micro-lags on my iPhone 17 recently, and I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue.

Iphone 17 front camera

I have the 17 base model and hate how pictures taken get over processed, becomes grainy and overexposed.

Any fix for this?
