First-time iPhone user (iPhone 17) — Is there any way to download files in the background?

Hey everyone!

I'm a first-time iPhone user, currently using an iPhone 17, and I'm finding one thing particularly frustrating.

I download a lot of files from the internet, and whenever I start downloading something, it seems to stop or pause when I switch to another app. I have to stay on the same screen and keep the download page open until the download finishes, which is really inconvenient.

On Android, I could start a download, switch to other apps, lock my phone, and let the download continue in the background.

Is there any way to achieve the same thing on iPhone? Are there any settings I need to change, alternative browsers, or download manager apps that support reliable background downloads?

I'd appreciate any tips or workarounds from experienced iPhone users. Thanks!

Is iPhone 17 available offline in Hyderabad on Bajaj Credit Card EMI?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy the iPhone 17 256GB in Hyderabad and want to purchase it offline using a Bajaj Credit Card on EMI.

Does anyone know which stores currently have it available on Bajaj EMI?

Also, what price can I realistically expect offline?

Please share the store name/location, final price, and EMI options if you’ve recently purchased one.

Thanks!

Vivo X200T vs iPhone 17 — which would you pick for long-term use?

[India] I'm planning to buy my next phone in the ₹60–75k range and I'm confused between the vivo X200T (12/512GB) and iPhone 17 (256GB) if I can get the iPhone around ₹70–75k during BBD.

I've been an Android/realme UI user all along, so this would be my first iPhone.

My priorities are:

1)Gaming

2)Camera

3)Decent Battery — 25%

I want to keep the phone for long term use.

Would appreciate opinions from people who have actually used these phones, especially regarding real-world SOT, gaming, camera quality and long-term ownership.

Should I buy the Vivo X200T 12+512 for ₹63K now or wait for BBD?

[India] I’m getting the Vivo X200T 12+512 variant for ₹63,000 on Flipkart right now.

Do you think I should buy it at this price, or wait for the Big Billion Days (BBD) sale?

What price can I realistically expect during BBD, considering bank offers and discounts? Is it worth waiting, or is ₹63K already a good deal for the X200T 12+512?

Would appreciate opinions from anyone who already bought it.

Best Gaming + Camera Phone Under ₹50–60K?

Planning to buy a smartphone in the upcoming bbd or Amazon sales. Looking for a phone under ₹50–60K with a good balance of:

  1. Strong gaming performance

2)Good primary camera + decent ultrawide/telephoto

3)Decent battery life & fast charging

4)Smooth software with good long-term updates

I don't want a gaming-focused phone with a poor camera or a camera phone with weak performance.

Which phone would you recommend, and also suggest me whether to take it in the sales or can I get it offline. Please drop your suggestions?

Best Credit Card for Amazon, Flipkart & Myntra?

Hi I'm planning to get my first credit card mainly for online shopping, especially Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra.

After doing some research, I've shortlisted a few options:

1)Amazon Pay ICICI

2)Flipkart Axis

3)SBI Cashback

4)HDFC Millennia

My main priorities are:

Good cashback/rewards on Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra

•Useful discounts during major sales

•Low/waivable annual fee

•Good value for regular spending rather than premium travel benefits

For those who have used these cards, which one would you pick and why? Are there any important cashback exclusions, spending limits or recent changes I should know about?

Also, if there's a better card than these for my use case, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Realme GT 7T battery calibration – Doesit actually make a difference?

Hi everyone,

I bought my Realme GT 7T on 4th July.

When I was on the Android 16 Open Beta, I was usually getting around 6–7 hours of screen-on time with my normal mixed usage.

I've now updated to the latest build (RMX5085_16.0.7.202) and have completed one charging cycle on this version. In this cycle, I got around 7 hours 12 minutes of screen-on time from 100% to 26%. Since it's only one cycle, I'm going to monitor a few more before drawing any conclusions.

While looking through Reddit and other forums, I noticed many people recommending battery calibration.

So I wanted to ask:

1)What exactly is battery calibration?

2)Should I do it on my device?

3)Has anyone with the GT 7T tried it, and did it make

any noticeable difference?

I'd really appreciate any explanations or personal experiences. Thanks!
