It’s okay that we’re not good :)

This is an integral part of rebuilding. The FO AND ownership need to see a team that is beyond saving to accept a rebuild. The FO needs to see it to sell at the deadline to gain assets and ownership needs to see it to get new management in here for the next chapter. We’ve gotta go through this part to actually see change. I’m not going to get on anyone about hating to see the team like this, but I just want you to remember this is necessary pain.

It’ll be okay. Start looking at 2027 prospects in the upcoming draft and see who to get excited about. I’m personally excited about Sundstrom and England for centers and Privalov for a good power forward, offensive winger. Of course DuPont is in the draft too, but I’m just giving you different names to look at.

Don’t be sad! You’re all too cool to be sad 🥹

Sorry I’m done

Proud of this rare gem

Being a die hard kings fan, I snagged the breadman jersey as soon as we got him. Only wore #72 for 5 games then switched back to #10 after Perry got traded. Cool rare one to add to the collection

For anyone that needs a printable schedule, here you go!

Feel free to save this or print it off! I tried to keep the color minimal so it doesn’t eat up your printer’s ink. Also, my weeks start on Monday (personal preference). Enjoy!

Let's go into this game with a positive mindset

Hopefully they took notes after the last game.

Made some changes here and there.

It's the second game of the season, let's remember. It's still early.

And ...let's not crash out 🫠

GKG!

DAZN Home Screen

DAZN, or "Da Zone", is a major improvement over the verkakte interface & programming that was the awful FanDuel / Diamond Sports Group (RIP) experience. But, can we address the marketing department's choice to utilize AI on their Kings home screen graphic??

I'm pretty sure that #9 is not Adrian Kempe - and I *know* that #55 is not Quinton Byfield. Plus using Kevin Fiala as the current face of the Kings is, well - a choice.

I'm a Kings Ultimate subscriber and all-in on the platform, so this is meant as a helpful nudge, not a doomer-adjacent criticism. I want y'all to win!

I reiterate that drew doughty is the downfall of this team

Drew doughty has his head so far up his ass you can look him eye level again. He doesn’t play his position, which causes Mikey to have to make up for him. Not only the fact that he’s out of position, and likely laying on the ice in the defensive end; he also likes to be out of position and behind the net on the offensive side.

There were three times I saw, (while watching solely the second period) that doughty was the last back on a rush towards our end. Not to mention the fourth goal that the avs scored could’ve been made that much harder had doughty made another move defensively besides laying down.

His extension for 8 years ultimately locked the Kings into a position where we had to build around an aging core in 2017-2020. After doughty ran to the media to complain about the lack of winning; the entire rebuild Blake had going went out the window to try and win now.

If we’re lucky we might be competitive in 2032-35 but I wouldn’t hope for anything soon.

TL;DR: drew doughty’s on and off ice abilities/antics severely hinders an experienced older team. And will do so till he retires.

Brandt Clarke interview - Empty Netters podcast

Our boy Brandt Clarke did an awesome interview with the Empty Netters guys. They're clearly good friends and the interview is great, Clarke is just a big goofy kid. Highly recommend listening. The interview starts at 3 mins. Added bonus, Alec Martinez is in the pod for the Pacific Division preview.

The Netters boys are close with lots of Kings players and the organization. Solid pod throughout the season. Clarke having such a fun personality makes it even more exciting that he's our franchise cornerstone. Enjoy!
