Surprises on the Multi V2/S (For fun)

Surprises on the Multi V2/S (For fun)

Hey all,

Finally picked up my 2026 Ducati Multistrada V2S a few days ago, only had time for a quick ride but happy to have it home.

I haven’t gotten around to delving into the manual yet, which I feel is needed! Hah.

What are some features or what have you that surprised you?

For example, I just found the USB Port! I knew it had one, and for some reason thought it would plug into the TFT somewhere! Nope. It is tucked up front on the left side front fairing in a waterproof insert.

Next I need to find where to plug in to the battery!

Thanks for sharing.

engine stalling - MTS V4 Rally

Hi, I have a new 2026 Multistrada V4 Rally and I've experienced engine stalling three times while riding. It always happens under harder braking with the clutch lever pulled in — the revs drop through idle and the engine cuts out completely. The bike restarts immediately without any issue. I know there was some software update in 2024 due to similar issue, but 2026 model should have it already. Did anyone solve this issue?

impending upgrade

2022 v2s -> 2025 v4rs

Not that I've outgrown the old girl but I've found a new bike, 5k off purchase price and a more than fair trade in for a bike that is the best fit for my size and riding style i can imagine. This is the first v4 I found that doesn't seem top heavy and to tall for my 5'8'' body. With weekends at the Tail of the dragon and scattered track days mixed in I'm in love with the idea of future use. My only issue is with having to completely change the titanium sub-frame to accommodate a top box that I've come to really appreciate. I understand I can just add saddlebags, just love a top box. Do my multistrada brothers share my vision or am I crazy. Don't care for the pikes peek if that's what some would suggest.

‘23 MTS V4S Brake light Flasher

I’ve been looking to add a Brake Light Modular Flasher and couldn’t find one for my 2023 Multistrada V4S.

Found a company called TST INDUSTRIES it’s a plug and play type but they said they don’t know if it will work on the MTSV4.

One of the harnesses options is a TYPE4 and is listed for newer Ducati models (as on the screenshot)

Might get it to try it out.

Wondering has anybody tried it? Or recommend another brand that fits and works? Appreciate the responses.

Backrest for V2S

Hello,

What are some good standalone backrest options for my passenger on a 26 Multi V2S?

We will have one as part of the top case but won’t always be using it.

Thanks.

2022 Multi V4S - Did you do decat only with no remap/tune. Thoughts?

Has anyone done a decat without also doing a remap? I’m wondering if it’s possible to just get the decat done without a retune. Probably go with LeoVince and just my stock slip on.

A dealership told me that in order for the bike to run properly, a remap is also required and they quoted me around $1,000 here in Canada for the software update alone. How is the remap more expensive than the link pipes themselves? Why is the software more expensive than yhe hardware?

Multi V4 back break fading

Howdy! I‘ve experienced this twice now on the same switch back laden back road; the back brake just fades to nothing so the lever just goes all the way to the end of its travel. never had it on the same stretch on previous bikes. Any thoughts lads!

V4s Loud engine

Hi there folks. I own 2026 V4s - just had my break in service done so 1000km ridden. I’ve ridden V4s before for a few days and test driven 2025 as well. I’d like to ask your opinion regarding engine noise. Nothing particular I.e no knock or whine - it’s just loud. Like really loud - compared to my boxer bmw. Is that normal? Is the GranTurismo simply a loud engine? Am I paranoid? 😁

Thanks!

Carplay Devices for 26 Multistrada V2S

Hello,

My new Multistrada V2S comes in this Friday and I would like to order a Carplay device for it. I think Carpuride is recommended.

Just curious if anyone has used one, thoughts on it? I think I can get a cross bar for mounting in on the windscreen?

Would love some info!

Thanks.

Maintenance at home?

I have never been very good at looking after bikes in the past.
I have a propensity to be a bit neglectful, but...
I have Just bought a 2017 Ducati Multistrada 950 (It's coming next week!).
I want to know if it's overkill?
I asked Claude (AI) how I should look after it properly and it gave me this...

Maintenance Schedule

2017 Ducati Multistrada 950  — No chain: toothed belt drive

Every Ride  /  Weekly (if not riding)

Task Notes
Tyre pressures Use a reliable gauge — not forecourt pumps
Tyre condition Check for cuts, embedded debris, unusual wear
Brake fluid levels Front and rear reservoirs visible without tools
Lights & instruments Quick function check before setting off
Drive belts (quick visual) Look for obvious cracking or fraying whilst cold
Weekly: 10–15 min run Must reach full operating temp — cold short starts cause more harm than not starting

Monthly  /  Every 500 Miles

Task Notes
Tyre pressures (gauge) Correct pressures critical for handling on the 950
Brake pads Inspect visually through caliper — replace before minimum thickness
Drive belt inspection Run finger along inside face — check for cracks, glazing, fraying
Coolant level Check expansion tank, not main radiator
Clutch freeplay Adjust at lever; refer to owner's manual for spec
Brake lever freeplay Front and rear
Chain lube N/A — belt drive. No lubrication required

Annual Service  /  Every 7,500 Miles

Task Notes
Engine oil & filter Fully synthetic 15W-50. Do not use cheaper alternatives
Valve clearance check Desmodromic system — mechanical closers, must be checked manually
Drive belts — inspect Check condition; replace if at 2-year or 15,000-mile limit
Spark plugs Replace per schedule
Air filter Inspect; replace if dirty or at service interval
Brake fluid (both circuits) Hygroscopic — replace regardless of appearance or mileage
Coolant condition Check concentration and colour; replace if degraded
Throttle body sync Check at service — idle quality indicator
Fork seals Check for weeping; replace if oil present on stanchions

Major Service — Desmodromic Valve & Belt Replacement

Interval Task Notes
Every 15,000 miles or 2 years Desmo valve clearance service Fairings off, belts off, full inspection. Budget for significant labour cost.
Every 15,000 miles or 2 years Drive belt replacement TIME-limited, not mileage-only. A 2-year belt on 5,000 miles must still be replaced.
Every 2 years Brake fluid replacement If not done at annual service
Every 2 years Coolant replacement If not done earlier

⚠  The desmo service is the most expensive routine job on any Ducati. Never defer it — belt failure = engine destruction.

Garage / Storage (Meaco DD8L Junior running)

Situation Action
Not riding for 3–4 weeks Run to full operating temperature before storage period begins
Storing over winter Add fuel stabiliser; run briefly to circulate through injectors
Long-term static storage Paddock stands front and rear — removes tyre flat-spot risk
Tyre storage surface Keep off bare concrete; use rubber mats or stands
Cover Breathable indoor cover even with dehumidifier running
Side/centre stand long-term Avoid leaving on stand for months — tyre contact patch takes a set
Battery Use an Optimate or CTEK trickle charger for any period > 2–3 weeks

First-Year Checks (2017 Bike — Verify Regardless of History)

Check Action
Service history Confirm desmo service was done on schedule (every 2yr / 15k)
Drive belts Check condition AND date — time-expired belts must be replaced
Brake fluid Bleed and replace both circuits regardless of stated history
Fork seals Inspect for oil weeping on stanchions
Coolant Check concentration, colour, and pH if possible
Fastener condition Check for surface rust on exposed bolts; treat with ACF-50
Tyre age Check DOT date code (4 digits, week/year) — replace if > 5 years

Service history records should show dealer stamps or independent specialist receipts with dates and mileages.

Quick Reference Summary

Frequency Key Jobs
Every ride Tyres, lights, brake fluid level, belt visual (weekly: run to temp)
Monthly / 500 mi Tyre pressures, brake pads, belt feel, coolant, lever freeplay
Annually / 7,500 mi Oil & filter, valve check, belts inspect, spark plugs, brake fluid
Every 2 yrs / 15k mi Desmo valve service, belt replacement (do NOT skip or defer)
Storage Full temp run, fuel stabiliser, paddock stands, trickle charger

25+ V2S Suspension - Technical details?

Last week I test rode the Multi V2S, I really liked it... BUT... The suspension I didn't. I had it setup in dynamic mode with rider+passenger preload as I'm 95kg, but with those settings it felt a bit "floaty" and with not much feedback on the front end.

I currently own another "adventure tourer" with electronic suspension and I don't like it, specially because if you're not the weight the designers had in mind getting aftermarket springs, is pretty much impossible. At least the bike that I have now allows for manual preload adjustment on both ends, which even maxed out is not enough to get the sag in the ballpark, but its better than nothing.

I was 90% on buying the Multi, so I went back to the dealership to get more information about the suspension. As the salesman was explaining me the suspension I came to realize... There is no front preload!? Preload is only on the rear.

OK, look more closely at the rest of the settings and you can only select from soft to hard on the "damping"? There is no compression/rebound adjustments.

And then I realized only the left fork leg has an electrical connection, so what is the right fork doing? Is it a split function setup, with hydraulics on the left leg and a dummy cartridge and spring on the right leg? (That'd be awesome as then there is hope for aftermarket springs).

Does anyone know what is the target rider/passenger weight the bike is setup from the factory?

Honestly I'm 50% on this bike now, I'm too much of a suspension snob to live with a pogo bike.

Multistrada V4S - linked Brakes?

Been wondering about this for a while as I use pretty much front break exclusively (outside of parking lot speed stuff) - the manual says that rear break is applied if you apply only front, but the front is not applied if rear brake is used. So the question is, in a panic stop, am I good to just mash on the front since the rear will be applied as well?

Minor tumble on your- easy fix?

Hi all, hoping to get some pointers here please. I’m currently on tour in the Pyrenees from the UK. I had a minor mishap earlier today where I dropped my Multistrada V4 at very low speed (maybe 10mph, lost the front end on gravel coming out of a very tight hairpin).
The side panels looked to have taken the brunt of the impact and are badly scratched although not cracked.
However when I started riding the bike again I noticed the handlebar was pointing slightly left with the front wheel at a straight ahead position. The rest of the bike seems perfectly OK, all systems appear to be working fine and there are no fluid leaks.
I’m riding back to the U.K. in a day and I’m not sure how serious an issue this could be. I can’t believe the fork legs could have twisted with such a low speed impact so I’m thinking maybe the bar is bent?
Anyone experienced this? Any pointers as to what it could be and whether I should plan to visit a dealer before travelling back? Thank you.
TLDR: OP had a low speed tumble while on tour. Bike appears ok except the handlebar which is slightly misaligned to the front wheel. OP wants to know if this is a major issue, or minor enough that a local ducati dealer could fix quickly.

Looking for a part

Unfortunately I had a low speed low side which was very damaging to my 950S.

I can’t figure out what is that broken piece which I marked with red. Looks like is part of the engine cover. Is where the screw from the right peg holds.

I’m very disappointed in build quality to have a such damage, I can understand clutch cover, right peg but subframe and that screw thread which looks like is part of engine cover? I think is too much. The low side was bellow 50 km/h and I even had crash bars.
