What motorcycle did you take your road test on?

I'll start. I took my road test on an '85 Suzuki GS700E. The guy before me was on a Harley ElectraGlide. He had to stop in the middle of his figure-8s to adjust the choke because the bike was cold when he started. Thinking about this reminds me of how much I enjoy fuel injection.

Lost foot peg rubber insert

So I lost a foot peg rubber insert in the first 1,100 miles of owning the bike. I just looked online and see these things are $30+ to replace. I'm not paying that price when they fall out while riding. What are my other options?

Edit: After seeing multiple comments saying that many people ride without them, I removed the remaining three inserts and spent a few hours in the saddle. I really didn't notice a difference, so no rubber is going to be the way for me as well. I may look for some replacement pegs in the future, because these pegs are crazy ugly without the rubber insert.

Keeping side cases organized?

Are there inserts or ways to keep things in the side cases organized? I ride quite a bit for work and take tools and paperwork with me. Are there any inserts or other ways to keep things from rolling around and somewhat organized?

Who has purchased a "new" demo bike? Warranty question.

I purchased a demo bike, with the deal being finalized on July 3, 2026. This bike was advertised as "new", but the fact that it was a demo bike was disclosed, and I got a significant discount on the purchase price because of it. This morning, while reading through the manual, I saw mention of the MyDucati app that I could download to my phone. When I activated it and signed in, I was shocked to see that my bike's warranty clock started ticking on April 2025 and only has 9 months remaining.

Is this common for demo bikes? I assumed that, with the bike being "new", the warranty would begin when I took possession of the bike.

I’ve owned it for 3 days and managed to break it

It’s scheduled for its 600 mile service on the 23rd of this month, but I can’t ride around with the access door flapping in the wind, and I refuse to put duct tape on a new bike. I guess I’ll just need to ride around with a hole in the side of my bike.

I’m going to make a few phone calls tomorrow morning to see if somebody will expedite ship a new latch to me.

New subreddit for 25+ Multistrada V2 & V2S discussion

With discussion and searches of the 25+ V2 models getting mixed in with all of the other models, I decided to make a specific sub strictly for the current version of the Multistrada V2. This will allow us to discuss 3rd party support, accessories, and modifications. Feel free to spread the word that we have a place to discuss our bikes. The more owners we get here, the more information can be shared, and the more successful our new committee will become. Have fun and ride safely!

New Bike Day! Multistrada V2S.

Sadly, it was time to replace my beloved 2007 ST3s. I'm going to miss that bike.

Out with the old and in with the new

I sold my ST3s yesterday, and the Multistrada was delivered today. I only have about 15 miles in the saddle of the Multistrada so far, but I think I may have made a mistake. The Multistrada just doesn't make me smile the way the ST3 did. Maybe some more time in the saddle will change that, but it's definitely not a 3-valve 992.

Found some old photos - my first 3 bikes before digital cameras were a thing.

If I recall, '82 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim, '85 Suzuki GS700E, and a '91 HD 883 Hugger. The HD was the slowest bike I ever owned, which probably prevented me from killing myself. The GS700E was my first road bike. I learned low-speed maneuvers on it and took the road test for my license on it.

The guy I sold the GS700E to wrecked it and ended up in a trauma unit for over a month.

Dummy meter - are these readily available?

I know it isn't correct - a former main is now a subpanel (still bonded as the first means of disconnect), but I was wondering where this dummy meter even came from.

Here is a photo of the terminals: https://imgur.com/DPZPnEd

Bittersweet - replacing the ST3s

It's a bittersweet day. I have decided to replace my ST3s with a new Multistrada V2s. It seems wrong that the new bike won't be red and won't have desmodromic valves. I love my old bike, and no other bike has ever made me smile when I ride it in the way that my ST3 does. I hope the new bike will force me to love it in the same way.

Accutron diver - share your ugly fad watches.

Today is the day that I remind myself that fads eventually die. I can't imagine a world in which I would intentionally buy this watch, even though I once lived in that world and purchased this watch because I thought it looked really cool.

Side cases for '25+ V2

I'm seriously considering replacing my aging ST3 with a new Multistrada V2s. I am looking at side case options, and they seem limited. I much prefer the aluminum style cases over the clam shell style due to the fact they that open from the top and things don't fall out of place or get pinched when trying to close them. Are there aftermarket cases that are any good, or should I pay the significantly higher price for the Ducati aluminum panniers?

Alternative to Schmidt Safety ceramin roller 888 that doesn't bleed though?

The title pretty much says it all. Bleed through on thinner paper is an issue for me. What are my alternatives for a refill that doesn't do this? Are there gel inserts that are the same type as the Schmidt 888 style?
