Seeking people genuinely interested in sewing workshops (location dntwn St. Catharines)

Hello!

So, I've built a cool space for creative sewing!

I'll be offering small group workshops to work on many different types of projects. Skill levels from beginners to moderate level. Ages?.. will include teens/ adults, and potentially a younger group if there happens to be a strong interest.

Before I launch officially, I'd like to hold a free workshop for approx 3-4 individuals for my 'market research', feedback etc.

Everything needed will be supplied (machines, tables fabrics, tools & notions) you just need to arrive, prepared to get creative!

Date? Ideally, next week.. August 24-28, the week is open and the time day of will be determined by those (seriously) interested, their availability and ..actually sign up.

Time of day? afternoon, From 2pm to 4ish? .. or evening, 7pm to 9ish? I can adjust time slots that work for those willing to show up :)

Thank you,

Appreciate your time & consideration!

Potential move from FL to Niagra ON area 3/2 house rental advice. How's the market?

Hi everyone! Did you move from US to Canada? We're planning to move to St. Cathrines/Niagra area from FL and would need a 3/2 house in a safe area. Any recommendations for a realtor experienced with this type of relocation?

I secretly miss the fireworks world cup timbit. It was sprinkled with pop rocks. I told the cashier in the drive thru that I missed them but she didn't seem to care.

Bachelorette Niagara on the Lake

Hi! Looking for cool bars/restaurants/clubs to go to for a bachelorette during January that would be fun for the bride?! Bonus points if there’s places that she can have some sort of spot light moment like dancing on a table or something lol

Would Niagara Falls locals want a cafe that stays open late? ☕️

I feel like there are a lot of cafes around here that are mainly geared toward tourists, but not as many places for locals to just hang out, grab a coffee, study, work, or meet up with friends later in the evening.

Would people be interested in a cafe that’s more local focused and open until 10 PM, midnight, or even later on weekends?

Good coffee, tea, desserts, some food, comfortable seating, and just a chill place to hang out without it feeling like a tourist spot.

Just curious what people think. If you live in Niagara Falls, would you actually go to a place like this? And what would you want it to have? And what area/location do you think would be best for something like this?

What kind of business do you wish Niagara Falls had?

I’m a new local to Niagara Falls and I’ve been wondering what everyone feels is missing here. It seems like there aren’t many places to hang out in the evening other than bars.

If you could bring any business, restaurant, café, activity, or hangout spot to Niagara Falls, what would you want to see?

Bicycle parts donations

Would anyone know if there is a place that takes used bicycles in various states of repair as donations? Im trying to avoid putting them in the dump.

I have 4 mountain bikes and 1 road bike. Some missing seat, others tires, some need general maintenance. Just checking if any shops run a bicycle recycle program or any other community orgs that might.

Thanks for any tips.

Beamsville bench area wineries

Would love some recommendations to wineries in the beamsville area. My husband and I are both into similar wines. Whites and sometimes rose. Easy drinking, crisp, refreshing, dry, bright acidity, clean and fresh. Open to an orange but only if it’s dry, clean and easy drinking. Love a good experience as well. So far the ones I had written down, although will probably narrow to 3 are Rosewood Estates, Back10, Thirty Bench and Hidden Bench. I’m sure we’ll be back to try some more another time :)

Thank you in advance!

Niagara - AUDITIONS — DRY STREAK — THOROLD, ON

Thorold Theatre is casting 7 actors for its fall production of Dry Streak, a wildly funny Canadian comedy by Saskatchewan playwright Leeann Minogue, directed by Wendy Cullen-Mackie.

Set during the scorching summer of 1988, Dry Streak takes audiences into the heart of a small prairie farming community where the rain has stopped, the crops are failing, and everyone has an opinion.

The Richards family has worked the same farm for generations. When son John returns home with his new girlfriend Kate, the family discovers that she is unlike anyone the town has encountered before: a punk-rock-loving, vegetarian city girl who has no particular interest in getting married.

Then, desperate for rain, Kate makes a reckless promise.

What follows is a comic collision of family expectations, small-town gossip, generational differences, personal belief and the increasingly uncomfortable realization that sometimes a private promise can become very, very public.

Dry Streak is a sharp, affectionate comedy about family, faith, farming and the pressures of small-town life — and what happens when everyone knows your business.

AUDITIONS

📅 Monday, August 24 — 7:00 PM
📅 Wednesday, August 26 — 7:00 PM
📍 Thorold 50+ Senior's Centre, 8 Carleton Street Thorold

Do better on the roads

To the three motorcyclists trying to cause a collision around 8:45am near the NF Walmart and QEW entrance this morning. Do better. If you’re in the far left lane, you can’t all cut over three lanes while there is a vehicle there. Move over when it’s safe. I saw one of you cut the SUV off and the other two nearly collided with the side of it when the SUV had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting the first bike.

I guarantee you'd whine that cars need to look out for motorcycles if you had been hit. It would have been your fault tenfold.

You are the reason we have a bad name.

Sincerely, the biker behind you.

Recommended Wineries

Hello All,

I'm really hoping that someone from this region can help me find a "hidden gem". Without revealing too much, the song "Good News" by Shaboozey sums up the year my wife and I have had. Her birthday is coming up and I want to take her to a really nice winery. We've already been to a few and the common ones (peller estates, 2 sisters, etc.) we've even been to Megalomaniac (which was an unexpected delight).

We aren't huge drinkers but we like wineries because there is usually some really good food, atmosphere, and beautiful scenery. Its also a little bit more upscale in terms of the experience and we like that.

Hoping that some locals, enthusiasts, or otherwise pro's can give me some recommendations.

TIA!

What are the requirements are needed to be a college professor in Ontario?

Hello all! I have my BA and am wondering what additional schooling I’ll need to be a part time college professor. I’m currently on mat leave and plan to be a full time mom for the next 6ish years. In that time I’m hoping to complete all the schooling/requirements I need so that once my little one is old enough I can be a part time professor. I finished my 3 year BA with a double minor in social justice/peace studies and Gender/women’s studies. Ideally some kind of schooling online or night school would be great. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

Saw the Feverish Lemons yesterday. Who was the piano player?

Saw them yesterday, unreal as usual. But there was a guy playing who I’ve never seen before. He was on piano and probably a top 5 vocalist I’ve ever seen live. Anyone know who he is?
