Gaten Matarazzo expressed his opinion about the two latest 3D Zelda games, and some comments are awful.

In the latest episode of "Shelf Quest" by Polygon, Gaten Matarazzo expressed his opinion about the two latest 3D Zelda games, BOTW and TOTK. For him, they're the ultimate experience of the Zelda franchise. Whether you agree or not, you need to respect his thoughts and feelings about it. But some Zelda hardcore fans aren't so happy with that, and that's what we're seeing in some comments.

It seems that when one celebrity talks about video games, there always will be guys to say the contrary. You can disagree with what the celebrity's saying, but please, with respect. I don't know if it's ragebaiting, or something else.

As a Zelda fan, I'm ashamed. In every community, there are good and stupid fans. For now, I'm ashamed of having these people in the fanbase I'm in.

Go watch the reel and let me see what you're thinking about it.

Polygon says Fortune's Weave is "officially unplayable for millions of gamers" because... it's a Switch 2 exclusive.

Based on the title, you'd think the reason might be because it was going to be lacking some kind of accessibility feature. The DOES have the potential to alienate a lot of players. But nah. It's because the game won't be on Switch 1.

Is Nintendo expected to keep releasing new games on the Switch 1 for the next five years? I've seen grifters criticise numerous Switch 2 exclusives for being Switch 2 exclusives, most notably/recently Pokopia (which, if DQB2 is anything to go by, would've run like ass on Switch 1). It feels like we are right back in 1990, when people were confused and outraged about the fact that Super Mario Bros World couldn't be played on NES and required a SNES to play.

Funnily enough, the title has been changed to "Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave's Switch 2 exclusivity actually makes a lot of sense". But the article is still a total nothingburger, basically just saying "yeah this game wouldn't really run on Switch 1"

That’s like if I said Kirby wasn’t a Nintendo exclusive cause you can play Kirby’s Adventure on some obscure emulator.

When the grift no longer sticks

Negative Grifting about Nintendo has died off hard at the moment as most the arguments if feel have aged like milk, so here is a quick review as to why with some quick explanations i would give:

"Switch 2 is too expensive!"- This argument no longer works as Switch 2 is the cheapest console on the market.

"$80 MKW is bad!"- Base Games like GTA 6 are priced the same so it is no longer a Nintendo only issue (without even considering DLC/MTX and other practices that already existed).

"GKC are the worst thing ever!" - Nintendo is the only system that has games playable off a cart and now Sony is doing away with physical entirely so the argument has shifted.

"Switch 2 has no games!" - Nintendo has more exclusives in one year than other systems have had in 6 years, and 3rd party support is bigger than it's ever been.

"Switch 2 games are MID!" - Nintendo has a variety of games available with varying reviews most scoring in the high level 70's to 90's, with zero games with major bugs.

"No one wants 3rd party games on Switch 2"- Many devs such as Capcom, Bethesda, Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, EA ect. are supporting the console at a level not seen since the gamecube with optimized ports and even day and date releases, with support still coming showing they must be doing well enough.

"Switch 2 is underpowered, Its just a Switch Pro!"- Switch 2 ports have proven to run as well as or better than alternatives such as handheld PCs or budget consoles such as the Series S, in a way Switch 1 could not do.

"Upgrade packs are a scam, Nintendo are lazy padding these out and not making Switch 2 games instead!"- Upgrade packs have not replaced full games as many franchises are getting new entries with very few games getting upgraded, some Switch games have had free updates and variable upgrade pricing between $5-$20, Most improving the games with new DLC, plus all upgrades have been getting new physical editions on the cart future proofing the games and giving them a second wind.

"Nintendo should go third party and put every game on other systems!"- Now Xbox and Playstation have reverted back to making games more exclusive as it made their systems lose value.

"Switch 2 $50 price increase was GREED" - All the competiton raised prices to a level higher than this.

"Nintendo will sell you broken consoles with drift and brick the system!" - No major hardware issues have been found on Switch 2 with no rampant cases of banning consoles (Which all consoles can do).

"You should Pirate all the Switch 2 games!"- No major exploits to pirate games have been discovered for the system yet.

"No one wants a Switch 2, Just buy a steam deck"- lol lmao even.

Add any other arguments that have evaporated to the comments!

Opinions on this ?

(This is not necessarily grift)

Imo this guy is just comparing apples to oranges. Retro handhelds and current gen consoles serve different purposes.

What do you guys think of this ?

(If anyone cares, here are the comment and its replies.)

Just to clarify:

1- from what i understand, they (for some reason) called the retroid pocket 6 a "PSP".

2- the "switch 2 comes with one game" probably means that the switch 2 comes BUNDLED with one game (referring to either the mkw bundle or the choose your game bundle).

3- i did NOT make this up, and i'm not the same person as this dude.

4- if you want to open the link on mobile, i recommend using the youtube app. Here's the link (again): https://youtube.com/watch?v=lS2lU5uUpkM&lc=UgysPSPkvfiEO1hj87V4AaABAg&si=OEtcjzLpBh2VLkKF

Do you think the amount of grifting and misinformation content decreased?

One aspect about Nintendo grifting that really stood out to me last year, was the amount youtubers who NEVER covered Nintendo news, milking the shit out of videos with misinformation about Switch 2, pricing, GKC and Mario Kart World. Heck, even Philip DeFranco who mainly covers politics, had a section about the backlash.

But I feel since Pokopia, the negative view of the console started to shift and with everything that has been happening in the industry, any unfair negative content made about Switch 2 is met with pushback. I'm also seeing an increase on videos praising Switch 2 as the perfect console for adults with busy lives and a good solution to improve your mental health, which is kinda wild.

Of course we have our usual suspects doing the same old bullshit, but really stood out to me that youtubers that not long ago were claiming that Nintendo was destroying the industry with their $90 DK Bananza and all games coming on a empty cartridge claims, have completely ignored Nintendo for months now.

IGN at it again with the idiotic BS. And it seems even more so with this here...🤦🏾‍♂️

May not full on grifting levels here but it is reeking of total self indulgent BS more than usual today. And that's when realizing that they don't even discuss the main topic until NINE MINUTES into the video. And even then they hardly even go one any that for long before switching to some nonsense about Usain Bolt and hot dogs

It really felt like they had a very slow news day and they just didn't have anything more worthwhile to talk about here. Even Spawn Wave does more with his streams and that guy is more of a tiresome chatterbox himself!

We've seen examples of bad grifting/criticism of Nintendo, but what what are examples you've seen of bad defending of Nintendo?

Alright, I don't wanna see examples of people attacking criticism of something awful that Nintendo did, I wanna see examples of people attacking one for proposing an IDEA that they want Nintendo to do, and why do they attack it? Because it either..

A. "It makes sense from a business perspective not to do the idea" (despite them never working at Nintendo or knowing how they work, also ignoring how well the idea would work from a consumer perspective)

B. "I don't know how the idea works and I don't care about the idea, therefore it's bad, shut the hell up" (this one is self explanatory)

Because god forbid someone wants to comment an IDEA about wanting a Switch 2 pro controller with a track pad or having NSO classic games work with randos.

Now get to posting your examples!

Bloomberg A Lolcow

Bloomberg is just another controlled media narrative to make money. They are the grifters before media grifters are born.

Your thoughts on r/NintendoGrifting

I thank everyone on their thoughts about Nintendo. Now the question is directed to this place. What you like, what you hate, why do you stay, and what you expect.

I only ask that we don't argue with each other over our options and feedback.

If you don't mind, tell us your history with the place

Reddit is being a bitch and trying to get me to repost my stuff at other places. That's the main reason why i'm posting this.

Do you think he’s gonna make a follow up video about the backlash thrown at this game recently, and blame it all on Nintendo fans
